The official poster for “Fleeting,” an official entry in the second iteration of the highly
anticipated Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, was unveiled at Gateway Cineplex,
Araneta City, on February 28, with the film’s lead stars Janella Salvador and RK
Bagatsing in attendance.
Sharing a first glimpse of the film ahead of Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, the event
was likewise attended by movie director Catsi Catalan.
Fleeting tells the story of Gem (Salvador), an ambitious, hardworking woman who is
intent on chasing her childhood dream, and JC (Bagatsing), a wealthy but laidback café
owner who never felt the need to dream. Despite the seeming disparity in their visions
and personal views, love unexpectedly blooms between them, a development that will
soon push them to make difficult choices.
Catalan expresses her gratitude for Fleeting's inclusion in the upcoming film festival,
relishing how she has seen, firsthand, Puregold CinePanalo enabling independent
filmmakers in presenting stories that empower Filipinos today. “Fleeting had been in
development for a while,” she discloses, “and CinePanalo provided the perfect platform
to finally bring it to life.”
Catalan further affirms how the movie is truly reflective of Puregold CinePanalo’s theme,
Filipino narratives. “Fleeting, which is set in the underrepresented surf town of Mati in
Davao Oriental, depicts how the young generation is inclined to prioritize their careers,
sometimes at the cost of personal relationships.”
Lead star Salvador, who has had her fair share of memorable roles in Philippine movies
and television, shares her thoughts on the project. “Apart from the film’s story and my
character taking me on a beautiful and emotional journey, I’m grateful to be part of a
festival that champions Filipino storytelling.”
Acclaimed actor Bagatsing also stresses on the significance of the film and the festival.
“I truly believe that Fleeting will resonate with a lot of Filipinos. The film serves as a
gentle reminder that true happiness isn’t always about the next destination; sometimes,
it’s about soaking in the moment and appreciating where you are right now.”
Now on its second year, Puregold CinePanalo continues to expand its impact on the
local film industry, offering more production grants. Each of the eight full-length film
entries received Php 3 million, while 24 student short filmmakers were each awarded
Php 150,000.
The festival’s first edition saw its films gain recognition locally and internationally, with
screenings at global events.
As an added treat for moviegoers, tickets for Puregold CinePanalo screenings will be
priced significantly lower than regular tickets, with special discounts for students.
Regular tickets are priced at Php 250, while tickets for students, PWD, senior citizens,
Tindahan ni Aling Puring and Perks Cardholders/Members are priced at Php 200.
Meanwhile, Puregold CinePanalo Festival Passes, which grant holders access to all
official movie entries, are priced at Php 2000.
Fleeting will set its premiere as part of the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival 2025,
which will run from March 14 to 25 at Gateway Cineplex 18, Araneta City.
