Rocco Nacino Renews Contract with GMA Artist Center

Award-winning actor and one of GMA's prime leading men Rocco Nacino stays loyal to the Kapuso Network as he renewed his management contract with GMA Artist Center last November 18.

Ferrer, GMAAC Senior Talent Managers Vic Del Rosario, Daryl Zamora, and Joy Marcelo, showed their full support to Rocco via Zoom and their presence at the Marquee Tent of Edsa Shangri-La Hotel.

Mr. Rafael Nacino, Rocco’s dad and co-manager, also attended the momentous event.

Looking back on his Kapuso journey, the talented actor is filled with gratitude as Starstruck laid the right foundations for him as an artist, "I started late in my early 20s. It was a half-hearted decision to join showbiz. But hindi talaga ako nagsisi because the learnings that I got through Starstruck paved the way for me to be where I am right now. Kung may pasasalamatan talaga ako, of course, it's the network, the executives, but also Starstruck. Three months of grueling workshops to make us into whole artists and to make our mark in showbiz...To be here, to be staying as a Kapuso, it's something I'm very, very proud of and grateful for."

Rocco has come a long way after being named as StarStruck V’s Second Prince in 2012. His iconic role in the Pinoy remake of the hit Korean drama series, 'Descendants of the Sun' as Technical Sergeant Diego Ramos opened up more opportunities for him to showcase his talent and make a name for himself.

Currently, he is one of the lead stars in the top-rating GMA primetime drama series, 'To Have and To Hold’ as Gavin Ramirez.

Despite his growing list of achievements and successful projects, the Kapuso star remains grounded. He added that he refuses to be complacent. Rocco allows himself to feel a certain degree of fear to keep himself disciplined and maintain a positive attitude, "Kahit na tumatatak na sa mga tao ang 'To Have and To Hold', hindi ko hinahayaan na maiwan iyan sa ulo ko at lumaki. So, I always remain scared, na anytime puwede nila akong palitan kaya dapat tama ang ginagawa ko. I make sure I always talk to my managers and the executives for advice on what to do. Kasi hindi ko talaga alam 'yung buong business na 'to. I make sure to do things right, to make decisions with respect, and to honor those who take care of me."

Meanwhile, Rasonable appreciates Rocco's character as an artist and as a person, "Since Starstruck, you have improved and grew as an actor. But more than that, what I like about you is that you give a good example to your co-actors because you finished your education amidst all the busyness of your schedule. You're very well-rounded. You have one of the most important traits an artist should have - perseverance. It is because of that, that we are proud and happy that you're still a loyal Kapuso. Congratulations."

Santiago-Lara, in turn, did not hide her admiration for Rocco's attitude in front of and behind the camera, "Rocco is one of our most talented actors in GMA and GMA Artist Center. The NextUp winners will participate in an online Creator Camp where they will get a crash course on production techniques and receive in-depth training to further build their channels. Previous NextUp winners, YouTube stars, and industry experts will also mentor them as they create their dream content. They will also be getting guidance and strategic account management support from the Creator and Artist Development Team of YouTube. A series of online training workshops for the non-finalists and other creators will be organized as well.

Each of the 12 finalists will receive an equipment stipend worth P100,000 and free data packs while three winners will be granted a 12-month endorsement contract with Smart.

The puzzling case will get even bigger, triggering a hunt for the villain and putting the relationship of Punn, Weir, Krathing, and Pooh to the test as they face the ups and downs of running a business, romance, and friendship.

What will the four boys and Jamie discover about the bakery? Who is to blame for the sudden disappearance of the kids?

“I was really nervous at first because it was my first time to do a sexy photo shoot (Kinakabahan ako at first kasi first time ko gagawa ng sexy photo shoot),” Bea confessed.

Ngo said that the shoot came out the way they envisioned it.

“It was done tastefully with Bea exuding her natural, subtle sexiness into the whole composition. The setting is the countryside, which complemented the calming effect when one looks at Bea,” hesaid.

Bea expressed that she is more than excited to become part of the elite circle of women who became Tanduay Calendar Girls.

“Each of them are not only beautiful, but have many admirable attributes as well. They’re strong, independent, and talented,” she said.

Previous Tanduay Calendar Girls include Heart Evangelista, KC Concepcion, Ellen Adarna, Barbie Imperial, and 2021’s Ivana Alawi, among others.

Asked how she felt when she learned that she was chosen to represent the brand for the coming year, Alonzo said that she was surprised at first and ecstatic the next.

“Hindi ako makapaniwala! Tanduay kasi is an iconic brand na kilala sa buong mundo at napakadaming natanggap na international awards. Napakalaking karangalan para sa akin na maging Tanduay calendar girl. (I couldn’t believe it! Bea herself has numerous awards to her name. In 2019, she was declared the “Leading Lady of the Century” by the Film Development Council of the Philippines. She also has several Best Actress awards for movies and TV, and has been a recipient of a Box Office Queen award and a Phenomenal Box Office Star award.

Apart from the Tanduay Calendar Girl project, the company is also exploring other collaborations with the actress.

As for her movie and TV projects for the coming year, fans can look forward to her first primetime teleserye as a Kapuso, and a movie with Embassy Whiskey brand ambassador Alden Richards, among others.

"The Silent Sea" Starring Gong Yoo Premieres December 24 on Netflix

Netflix releases a new Korean sci-fi series titled 'The Silent Sea' starring Gong Yoo, Bae Doona and Lee Joon.

The series is an adaptation from the 2014 short film 'The Sea of Tranquility' written and directed by Choi Hang-yong who will also direct the series.

Synopsis: Set in the future, when the planet suffers from a lack of water and food caused by desertification. Yoon-Jae is a soldier for the space agency. He is selected for a team, including Ji-An, to travel to the moon. Their mission is to retrieve a mysterious sample from an abandoned research station.

Jason Abalos Renews Contract with GMA Artist Center: "Sa GMA ko nagawa yung akala ko di ko kayang gawin!"

Jason Abalos remains to be a proud Kapuso after renewing his contract with GMA Artist Center on Tuesday, November 16.

Jason, who currently stars as Gabriel Lucero in GMA Afternoon Prime series Las Hermanas, has been a Kapuso since 2017.

"Siyempre, sobrang excited kasi ito naman talaga 'yung gusto kong gawin, ang umarte. Nandito 'yung passion ko," he said during the interview with some entertainment bloggers after the contract signing.

"So, bibigyan pa tayo ng proyekto ng GMA, iba't ibang proyekto kaya mas ma-e-explore ko pa 'yung aking craft."

He added, "Doon pa lang sa first show ko sa GMA, sa TOTGA, hindi ako makapaniwala na kaya ko palang gumawa ng rom-com kasi dati talaga ang ginagawa ko, heavy drama, drama.

"So sabi ko, pwede pala, pwede pala. Napagbigyan ako ng GMA, nabigyan ako ng romcom. Tapos next show ko after non, Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko,' naging babae naman ako, 'di ba?

The 36-year-old actor also revealed that one of his dreams was to star in a telefantasya.

"Fantaserye, 'yun talaga 'yung gusto kong gawin sa GMA kasi alam mo talaga ang GMA, sobrang galing gumawa ng fantaserye.

"Pero kung hindi naman, kahit anong ibato sa akin, talagang ginagawa ko nang tama kasi gusto kong ma-entertain 'yung mga Kapuso natin."

Jason, who is running for Nueva Ecija Board Member in the 2022 elections, also revealed during the blogcon that he recently received his Master’s Degree in Management, major in Public Administration from Philippine Christian University (PCU).

Rasonable shared how proud she is for signing Barbie to GMA years ago, "Taking that trip down memory lane, with the very first program that we worked together on which was 'Stairway to Heaven' where we discovered you and decided we want to have you in GMA. Thank God, we made that decision because seeing you now grow as an actress, host, dancer, and as a person, makes me so proud we made that decision 12 years ago... I'm glad you're still with us and I'm proud you're still a Kapuso."
