The Clash Season 4: A Vocal Battle Like No Other Premieres October 2 and 3 on GMA-7

This October 2, Kapuso viewers are in for a bigger, better, and truly exciting brand new season of GMA Network’s all-original Filipino singing competition and 2021 New York Festivals Finalist for Entertainment Variety Program – The Clash!

Known for its unique twists and surprises at every round, The Clash Season 4 brings together 30 of the most promising and talented contenders nationwide to battle it out on-stage.

The Clash Season 4 reintroduces the well-loved tandem of Clash Masters Asia’s Limitless Star and 2020 Aliw Awards Entertainer of the Year Julie Anne San Jose and Total Heartthrob Rayver Cruz.

Julie Anne adds that aside from talent, it’s the competitiveness of the Clashers that makes this season more interesting, “I think this generation is more palaban, more expressive of themselves. They know what they’re doing, they know what they want. I think naka-add ‘yung spice na nakikita mo sa harap mo 'yung makaka-challenge mo on-stage and ‘yung immediate reaction or comments nung judges in front of you.

Filipinos are very talented and very supportive,” Rayver quipped. “It wouldn’t be as successful as it was for the past seasons and years if not for the variety of great talented Clashers, their families and relatives, and the audience who supported the show since Season 1.”

Giving viewers an exclusive peek backstage again are Journey Hosts Ken Chan and Rita Daniela who are both eager to be back. For Ken, the Kapuso singing tilt continues to set the bar higher each year, “There are many singing competitions out there, with similar systems in place and similar storylines. The Clash does away with all of that. Each season brings its unique recipe for excitement and unexpected thrills that each Clasher must overcome and face.”

They’ll expect more fun moments, beautiful voices, and I must say more awesome and creative productions from us!” Rita shared. “The contestants are getting more competitive because of the one-on-ones and group showdowns.

Returning as The Clash Panel are Asia's Nightingale Lani Misalucha, Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, and Comedy Concert Queen Aiai Delas Alas who are all looking forward to meeting this year’s breed of Clashers.

Thrilled to be back on her seat is Lani, “I'm back for this season. Since I'm back it's going to be another crazy season. There are always surprising twists and challenges given to the contestants now and then that they have to be on their toes all the time.” “They should expect Clashers who are more hungry for performing on stage. Clashers who are braver or will take more risks,” Christian shared when asked what viewers can expect from this year’s batch of contestants. “It’s unpredictable, it’s exciting, and we always aim for the best.”

For Aiai, this season is much more exciting, “Nakakatuwa kasi kahit na nasa pandemic pa rin tayo, we have something exciting to look forward to. Lalo na ‘yung viewers, kasi siguradong mas pasabog at mas handang lumaban ang Clashers ngayong season.”

Sit back, relax, and tune in to the most exciting search for the newest singing sensation in The Clash Season 4 - under the helm of esteemed director Louie Ignacio - Saturdays 7:15 pm and Sundays 7:40 pm, on GMA-7.

Viewers abroad can also catch the program via GMA's flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV. For more stories about the Kapuso Network, visit www.GMANetwork.com.

Jose Mari Chan Shares Tips for Finding the Perfect Christmas Gift and Avoiding Last-Minute Holiday Shopping

As we settle into the -ber months, it’s time to start thinking of your Christmas list. If you’re at a loss as to how to spread joy to your loved ones during the holidays amidst a pandemic, who better to ask for advice than one of the Philippines’ Christmas icons, Jose Mari Chan?

The musician, who has been Shopee’s Christmas ambassador since 2018, shares that the important thing is to imbue the true spirit of Christmas. “This pandemic may have completely changed our shopping habits, but one thing remains the same - every chance you get to show kindness, do so. Whatever you give doesn't have to be a big amount.”

Begin your holiday shopping at Shopee's September 30 Payday Sale and keep these other tips from Jose Mari Chan in mind:

Take advantage of the convenience and accessibility of online shopping

Like plenty of Filipinos, Jose Mari Chan prefers to shop online these days, from gifts to basic necessities and healthcare products. “Instead of taking public transport or driving to a store, you can purchase from Shopee while staying at home.” Aside from enjoying the safety and convenience, he adds that users get to help out other Filipinos. “You're doing not only yourself a favor. You also continue to support small businesses, manufacturers, and delivery services.

Always check for free shipping and other promos to make shopping more worthwhile

Jose Mari Chan reminds users to keep an eye out for vouchers, especially during Shopee’s big sales. For instance, users can enjoy free shipping with no minimum spend, 30% bills cashback, and 30% off vouchers. Stack vouchers for bigger discounts. Jose Mari Chan says, “What more can you ask for? I assure you, when you purchase on Shopee, you will always be able to get the best deal.”

Go cashless for safe and convenient transactions

Start opting for contactless payment methods for safe and convenient payments. Use ShopeePay, Shopee’s all-in-one e-wallet, to Buy Load, Pay Bills & Scan to Pay. At Shopee’s 11.11 Big Christmas Sale, enjoy ShopeePay-exclusive promos such as up to 50% off on mobile load; 30% bills cashback from Meralco, Maynilad, PLDT, and over 60 other billers; and ShopeePay ₱1 Deals from Puregold, Potato Corner, Seaoil, and more.

For account security, Jose Mari Chan adds, “Change your ShopeePay PIN regularly and do not share it with anyone to prevent unauthorized purchases.”

It's better to plan ahead and organize your Christmas list early on

Jose Mari Chan shares that he and his wife are early birds when it comes to holiday shopping. He advises users to follow this principle and plan ahead. “List down some important people whom you want to cheer up, then browse online to see what items you can give. Do it early. If you leave it up to the last minute, you might make some impulse purchases or even overspend,” he says.

Put more heart into picking gifts to make it more meaningful

Feeling stumped about gift ideas? Here’s a piece of advice from Jose Mari Chan: try to come up with gifts that hold meaning for the recipient. “For the past years, my wife and I have been giving each other a common gift that we’d both agree on prior, such as items we need for the home. I would also ask special friends if they have a favorite charity, and I would donate in their name as a gift.”

The musician concludes that as he gets older, he derives more pleasure from giving than receiving. “When you receive, it's just a moment's pleasure. When you give, it lasts longer. When you give out of kindness, love, charity, and generosity, the impact will last for many years.”

Enjoy the Christmas festivities with Jose Mari Chan and watch his latest Shopee video via Facebook at https://shp.ee/5kkbwhh or YouTube at https://shp.ee/vtk84wr.

Camille was shocked after Cedric unexpectedly admitted that he likes her and that he intends to take their friendship to the next level. Cedric’s sudden confession comes after his revelation to his best friend Andrei (Paulo Avelino) that the reason he agreed to join Andrei’s new company is so that he can pursue a relationship with Camille.

Although Andrei insists that he only sees Camille as a colleague, Cedric feels threatened by their deepening friendship. Camille, Cedric, and Andrei, however, will have to put their personal issues aside as they launch their new company that will serve as the major competitor to Infinity Tech, the company owned by Andrei’s dad Emilio (Edu Manzano).

Andrei is relying on his company’s success in order to prove his worth to his father, after his business proposal was sabotaged by his step-mother Laviña (Teresa Loyzaga). Not only does Laviña want to ruin Andrei’s reputation but she also wants to make his mother Elvie’s (Cherry Pie Picache) life miserable. Laviña dropped a bombshell on Elvie’s family, who received a copy of the contract that proves Elvie agreed to give Emilio full custody of Andrei in exchange for money.

How will this news affect Elvie’s relationship with her family? Will Cedric be able to win Camille’s heart?

Don’t miss “Marry Me, Marry You” airing weeknights at 9:25 PM on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, iWantTFC, WeTV, and iflix. In her several years of being a Kapuso, Gabbi has been regarded as one of GMA’s prime actresses and an in demand endorser of various prominent brands. She has starred in numerous notable projects and portrayed a variety of roles on both small and big screens. Despite all these, she remains grounded and humbled by her progressing journey in show business, “It still feels surreal that I’m able to live my dream and turn it to reality. I’ll forever be grateful to GMA for trusting me.”

She added that her years as a talent of the Network has been some of the best in her life and it has taught her many values which she cherishes up to this day, “I'm just so grateful. GMA has been my second family for almost eight years. I really grew up with GMA beside me, with the trials in my life, my ups and downs. In GMA kasi, we don't treat each other as co-workers. We all have a relationship with each other. I just can't believe that up to this day, everyone is still supporting me, everyone has my back. I've learned to love my co-workers throughout the years. It's just so heartwarming. I appreciate the bosses for trusting me since day one, it means a lot. Mark my words, I will never leave this Network. GMA Artist Center is my second family.

GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon is impressed at how Gabbi has improved in her craft through the years, “Sa mga nakalipas na taon, ipinakita ni Gabbi ang kaniyang galing sa acting, dancing, at pati na sa hosting, kaya naman we are pleased to continue working with such a beautiful and talented actress. Congratulations, Gabbi.”

Executive Vice President and CFO Felipe S. Yalong also admired Gabbi’s work, “Gabbi is not just a pretty face but she has developed her talents in acting and hosting. Napansin natin ang kaniyang galing sa Encantadia hanggang sa pagiging host ng GMA Public Affairs show na ‘In Real Life.’ We are pleased that she continues to be part of the Kapuso Network and GMA Artist Center. Congratulations, Gabbi!

Gozon-Valdes looks forward to Gabbi’s bright future in the industry, “Gabbi, you have so much talent and ang layo pa ng mararating mo. Most especially, you really have a good heart and you're a really good person and iyon ang bagay na bagay talaga sa Kapuso. We want you to know that we will always be here. I will be here. GMA will be here to support you, hold your hand, and watch you soar to greater heights in your journey. Malayo pa ang mararating mo as a Kapuso and we're very thankful and happy to be part of that.”

Rasonable expressed her delight in the actress’ dedication to her craft, “Congratulations Gabbi. Watching that AVP, talagang nakita natin lahat ang growth mo as an artist and you mentioned Encantadia and Alena. I remember the many stories about the shoots in Encantadia and I know what you were talking about - the life lessons and learning so much. You were very young then. You're so accomplished. We're so proud of you. And we want you to know that your dreams are our dreams for you too. We will just be here for you. Keep on being an inspiration to young people, and other young actors and actresses. It is also so wonderful that you're very close to your family. Know that your second family, GMA, will always be here for you.

Mr. M also shared his sentiments about the actress, “You certainly are one of the prized possessions of GMA and you have this sparkling personality. Everybody loves you for your talent and we're always here to support you. Congratulations!”

Finally, Ferrer assured Gabbi of their faith in her many talents, ”Aside from being an actress, Gabbi is one of the most trusted endorsers of very important clients, one of the most followed Kapuso stars in social media. I can actually remember Gabbi when she auditioned for us several years ago when she was still a teenager. And we in Artist Center are very proud of how she has bloomed into becoming a very responsible, family-centered young woman who has the utmost dedication to her craft. Congratulations Gabbi and looking forward to making more projects with you. We in Artist Center are here to support you all the way.”

Being with GMA Network for almost eight years, Gabbi have done so many good projects whether it's romance, drama, action, or comedy. But if there's one project that she dreamt of doing in the future, it would be a Girls' Love series.

During the blogcon after her contract signing, Gabbi revealed that she is open to do a Girls' Love series one day.

"Actually, lately lang 'to, siguro about a year ago, or two years ago—I really dream of doing a GL a girls love series. I'm an ally kasi of the LGBT, and I really wanna explore that side, and I really wanna send out also a get message," she said.

Gabbi was then asked who she had in mind as her partner. The actress thought long and hard, but she finally dropped the name of another gorgeous Kapuso actress she previously got to work with on "Encantadia."

"Parang okay ako kung kami ni Sanya [Lopez]!" Gabbi said.

She also said that she has not given up on her dream of becoming the next Miss Universe, but she's just waiting for the right time.

"Kasi, now, I have so much on my plate. I have so much in line for me, for my acting career, for my brand endorsements, so I guess I am not yet fully focused when it comes to pageantry."

"But I'm not closing my doors. The dream is there. The desire is there, but let's just wait for the right time cause I really don't wanna enter the pageant world na I'm not 200 percent." she added.

Why "PBB" Songs are the Perfect Hype Songs for Pinoys

As we Filipinos continue to face different challenges with the enduring pandemic, sometimes all we need is to listen to good music to get us through the day.

ABS-CBN’s “Pinoy Big Brother,” which has played a big factor in the lives of Filipinos through iconic moments and talented personalities since 2005, is also home to popular songs that can give you a boost when you need some positive vibes.

The songs don’t just scream Pinoy pride, they also underscore the importance of being true to one’s self, forging strong connections with other people, being brave, and never giving up on chasing dreams. With the return of "PBB" for its 10th season, a new theme song will definitely capture the heart of Filipinos.

Check them out here and be sure to stream them, stat!

1. “Pinoy Ako” by Orange and Lemons

When “PBB” premiered in 2005, the hit Orange and Lemons’ song skyrocketed in music charts and dominated the airwaves for a long time. Most Filipinos still know the song by heart and dance to it as it is a global Pinoy anthem for empowering Filipinos to show their talent to the world.

2. “Kabataang Pinoy” by Itchyworms

When “PBB” introduced a teen edition, “Kabataang Pinoy” made a huge splash. It became the perfect theme of every youth event for its high-energy music and great lyrics that encourage the Filipino youth to do their best as they are the future of the country.

“Hamon sa buhay handang daanan/ Kaya namin 'yan/ Ipaglalaban namin ang nararapat/ At tamang gagawin”

3. “Sikat Ang Pinoy” by Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga

Sam and Toni became a hit love team in the mid-2000s for their undeniable chemistry. It was no wonder why Big Brother also asked his ex-housemate and host to help sing the theme of the “PBB” celebrity editions. Titled “Sikat Ang Pinoy,” the song is an ode to “Pinoy Ako” and also puts the spotlight on Filipino talent that is recognized worldwide.

“Pinoy laging maaasahan/ Kailan ma'y 'di ka iiwan/ Handang tumulong sa iyo/ Ano man ang pagdaanan mo”

4. “Otso Na” by Toni and Alex Gonzaga

Besides hosting the eighth season of “PBB,” sisters Toni and Alex also sang the theme song for “PBB Otso” that was aptly titled “Otso Na.” The catchy song was a bop among fans as it highlights the enduring connection of “PBB” and its loyal fan base. "Otso Na" also cleverly plays on the number eight to higlight the lasting bonds formed inside the "PBB" house.

“Maraming masayang nangyari sa samahang nabuo/ Nawa'y palagi lang maging maligaya/ Higit pa sa walang-hanggang pagsasamang kay saya”

5. “Connected Na Tayo” by Jem Macatuno, Shawntel Cruz, Kiara Takahashi, and Lie Reposposa

“PBB” is truly a home of songwriters. For “PBB Connect,” “PBB Otso” housemates Jem, Shawntel, Kiara, and Lie got to write and sing the show’s theme song despite quarantine restrictions. “Connected Na Tayo” is all about pursuing dreams together, making it a fan favorite.

“Tara na, abutin ang pangarap/ Di papipigil sa bawat hakbang/ Sa saya at kalungkutan/ Di ka iiwan/ Dahil connected na tayo”

6. “Pinoy Tayo” by Rico Blanco

For its 10th season, “PBB” collaborated with OPM icon Rico Blanco to reinvent the famous “Pinoy Ako” song. Titled “Pinoy Tayo,” the new theme song of the upcoming season still echoes the message of the original hit with new lyrics and a refreshed arrangement – a perfect song to give you that much needed boost in whatever challenge you’re facing.

“‘Pakita mo ang tunay at kung sino ka/ Mayro’n mang masama at maganda/ Wala namang perpekto/ Basta’t magpakatotoo”
