GMA Pinoy TV Treats Kapuso Fans Worldwide with Back-to-Back FunCon Events Featuring Sparkle GMA Artist Center Stars

2022 was off to a great start for the Kapuso abroad as GMA Pinoy TV treated them to two back-to-back Pinoy Abroad Fun Connect events for January!

Dubbed as ‘Legendary January FunCon,’ a special online meet-and-greet event was held last January 5 featuring the cast of the newest Kapuso series Little Princess and I Can See You: AlterNate last January 5. It was then followed by the ‘Prima Donnas FunCon’ last January 14. Both events were attended by fans worldwide who had a blast interacting with and getting to ask questions to their favorite Kapuso stars.

The stars behind GMA’s well-loved Afternoon Prime series, Little Princess, were in complete attendance during the Legendary January FunCon. Jo Berry, Juancho Triviño, Rodjun Cruz, and Angelika Dela Cruz happily shared their New Year goals, 2021 learnings, as well as the challenges their roles entail in the online kwentuhan.

They also invited everyone to follow the story of Princess (Jo), a little person with big dreams to give her family a better life. Her world is turned completely upside down when she discovers that she is an heiress to a wealthy clan. Despite everyone doubting and challenging her claim to the company, she perseveres and strives to prove her worth.

The said FunCon event was made more fun with the presence of Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and Beauty Gonzalez, the lead stars of ‘I Can See You: AlterNate.’ The mini-series showcases Dingdong’s stellar acting chops as two characters – twins Nate and Michael who have never met and who lived two very different lives. Nate’s picture-perfect life with his loving wife, Sheila (Beauty), is intercepted by Michael, eventually making the brothers fight for the woman’s love.

Kapuso fans and Fil-foreign members of the press couldn’t help but admire how intriguing and interesting the plot of the drama series is. They excitedly asked questions about Dingdong and Beauty’s roles and experience, which the two happily answered and equally shared how grateful they are to be part of such a big project. In a segment during the event, the pair served as judges where the fans reenacted a scene from the show where the male and female roles were ‘alternated’ which gave the game a fun twist.

Meanwhile, the much-awaited return of the Prima Donnas cast graced their separate FunCon and was attended by Jillian Ward, Althea Ablan, Sofia Pablo, Elijah Alejo, Katrina Halili, Wendell Ramos, Sheryl Cruz, and Aiko Melendez.

The Kapuso abroad were all looking forward to the brand-new season of the top-rated series.

The stars of the family-drama soap likewise expressed how happy they are about the success of the first season and are grateful to be back for more. They talked about how Prima Donnas Book 2 will tackle more of Kendra’s (Aiko Melendez) revenge on the Claveria family including Jaime (Wendell) and Lilian (Katrina), as well as Donna Marie (Jillian), Donna Belle (Althea), and Donna Lyn (Sofia).

To share the fun with more Kapuso Abroad, the ‘Legendary January FunCon’ and ‘Prima Donnas FunCon’ also aired respectively last January 23 and January 30 on GMA Pinoy TV.

This February, GMA Pinoy TV set up a date with you and the cast of "First Lady" including Sanya Lopez, Alice Dixson, Cassy Legaspi, Joaquin Domagoso and Gabby Concepcion happening this February 18, 2022, 12NN (Manila time).

Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson's Pre-Valentine Movie "Marry Me" Showing in Philippines Cinemas on February 9

Two total and completely opposite strangers agree to marry and get to know each other in Marry Me, starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson. But as forces conspire to separate them, the universal question arises: Can two people from such different worlds bridge the gulf between them and build a place where they both belong?

When we meet global superstar Kat Valdez, played by Jennifer Lopez, she’s about to be married to her fiancé, Bastian (Maluma). Together, they’ve become the hottest celebrity couple on the planet and are about to be wed publicly, live, in front of the whole world. Their smash duet single, “Marry Me” has become the biggest song of the year. Everything in her life seems, on the surface, to be perfection. But the reality of her life is far more complex. “Kat’s a global superstar who is also a strong, confidant businesswoman,” Jennifer Lopez says. “She’s a boss but also a regular person who gets lonely and needs love. She wants to feel like she has a home and isn’t a gypsy traveling the world.”

When Kat discovers, seconds before her wedding, that Bastian has been unfaithful to her, the façade and the fantasy of what her life can be disintegrates around her. “In one second, everything changes, and it all falls apart,” Lopez says. “Kat blames herself for not seeing the truth, but also makes a spontaneous choice to marry somebody else in the audience. That’s how she meets Charlie. With that, her life completely changes, as it does when you meet someone who sees you for who you are.”

Lopez, of course, knows what it is like to navigate a romantic relationship in the glare of the public eye. “Living a life in the spotlight has its challenges,” Lopez says. “The truth is that nobody wants to hear the ‘woe is me…’ part of that, but it has a scrutiny and a judgment to it that most people don’t ever have to deal with. That can be very lonely.” What the public often forgets, for both Lopez and Kat, is that there’s a real person dealing with real pain and loss behind the clickbait headlines.

The key to surviving it, Lopez says, is to stay focused on who you really are rather than on how the public views you. “Kat never forgets that she was a little girl growing up with a dream,” Lopez says. “It’s the same for me. Remembering where I came from has always kept me grounded. I don’t feel any different, and I think that’s what people forget. That’s why I’ve made songs over the years like ‘Jenny from the Block’ and ‘I’m Real.’ I’m still the same person, but I’m just doing these things with my life and it has expanded and grown. Still, there’s a human being there.”

Playing Kat, Lopez says, allowed her to explore and expose these ideas, both on the screen and within herself. “It was about baring my soul in every moment,” Lopez says. “It was more uncomfortable than playing a character that is nothing like you, because I brought experience into a world in a way that I’ve never had to before. This is also the first time that I’ve been able to make an album with a movie, which has been a dream of mine. It’s the first time I’ve done a movie with music since Selena, and in that film, they used Selena’s voice, so I never got to sing myself.

From Universal Pictures International, say yes when Marry Me opens in local cinemas on February 9.

Viral Scandal: Joshua Garcia Admits Feelings for Charlie Dizon

Joshua Garcia (Kyle) finally admits to Jameson Blake (Axel) that he has feelings for Charlie Dizon (Rica) following his decision to maintain a professional relationship with her in "Viral Scandal."

He explained to Axel that staying away from Rica is difficult for him, but he thinks it is the best solution. He was aware that if he remained close to her, she would find out about his feelings for her, and it would add to her problems.

On the other hand, Raven (Kaila Estrada) was eventually found by Rica and Troy (Jake Cuenca) in her office after she abandoned stepsister in the street. After witnessing Troy’s guilt over what happened to Raven, Rica realized that her biological father is not the man she had imagined her entire life. She admitted to Kakay (Dimples Romana) that it would be hard for her now to be angry at him.

Will Kyle be able to stick to his words and avoid Rica? Will Troy still pursue the annulment after what happened to Raven?

"ViralScandal" airs weeknights at 9:20 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment's YouTube channel and Facebook page, Jeepney TV, iWantTFC, WeTV, and iflix.

Find Your Heart's Anthem This Love Month by Listening to These Songs

Some people associate February with love because of Valentine’s Day but as many would probably agree to, romantic relationships entail a handful of sacrifices and complications that make the meaning of love month different for every individual.

Here are some songs to check out to accompany you this season whatever state your heart might be in at present:

Wanting to break free from an unhealthy relationship: “O Bakit Ba” by Gigi De Lana ft. The Gigi Vibes

This pop rock anthem which serves as the key track of Gigi’s debut album poses a question that will surely stir painful memories for anyone who has ever felt stuck in a relationship that has no security. This is perfectly depicted in its music video - a prequel to Gigi’s “Sakalam” - which also stars Markus Paterson as Gigi’s lover.

Reeling from the end of a romance: “Did I Let You Go” by Jon Guelas

Breakups are hard in itself but what happens after - the what-ifs, urge to get back together, and of course pain - is even harder. This Tarsier Records single by Fil-Brit singer-songwriter Jon encapsulates that inescapable feeling of being lost post-split, and you can bask in all the feels from the stripped down version of the track in the upcoming second season of “He’s Into Her.”

Thinking of ‘the one that got away’: “Can’t Get Out” by Jem Macatuno

A soft pop single written and composed by Star Pop artist Jem, this song is perfect for those who still find it hard to stop thinking about a romance that could have been. Its music video stars Jem’s fellow “PBB Otso” housemates Ashley del Mundo and Tan Roncal which shows them being each other’s ‘the one that got away’ or TOTGA.

Longing for reciprocation of love: “Kung Kita’y Kapiling” by Troy Laureta ft. Jake Zyrus

Troy’s version of this timeless love song spectacularly performed by Jake will easily usher goosebumps to listeners, especially for those who currently yearns for the affection of someone they love deeply. Its music video features drag queen Valentina who shot to fame while competing in “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

In need of reassurance that you’re worth it: “Halaga” by Maki

This chill R&B song is filled with the beautiful words of Tarsier Records artist Maki who aims to remind listeners of their worth. If you’re still in the process of nursing a past heartbreak or working towards self-love, this song is all the reassurance you’ll need that one day, someone will love you the way you’ve always deserved to be loved.

Ready to fall head over heels for someone: “Magpakita Ka Na” by Zephanie

Healing is the most important part of entering a new relationship, but once that’s done and you’re ready to let someone in again, the waiting game can be quite brutal. Zephanie’s single from her self-titled debut album under Star Music captures the emotions of someone who is now prepared not only to fall in love but also face the risks of being in a relationship.

Finally found ‘the one’: “Ikaw at Ako (Hanggang Dulo)” by Zion Aguirre

Love is both hell and heaven, but if you’re lucky enough to finally be with the right person, this upbeat feel-good track will surely resonate with you on another level. In this Tarsier Records release, Zion makes a case for a love that overcomes hardships and defeats challenges - simply because you’re with ‘the one.’

Embrace your current definition of love by checking out these songs on ABS-CBN Star Music YouTube channel and on various music platforms.

Angelica Panganiban Explores the Why's of Heartbreak in "The Goodbye Girl" with Loisa Andalio, Maris Racal, Barbie Imperial and Elisse Joson

Why aren’t we enough for the people we love?
Why do they leave us or don’t love us back?

Angelica Panganiban explores the why’s of heartbreak in iWantTFC’s original series "The Goodbye Girl” with Loisa Andalio, Barbie Imperial, Maris Racal, and Elisse Joson as they navigate their journey to healing after facing rejection, indifference, and pain.

Based on the book of the same name by best-selling author Noreen Capili, “The Goodbye Girl” illustrates the five types of heartbroken women while sharing valuable lessons on how to conquer heartbreak and coming out of it stronger, wiser, and better.

Directed by Derick Cabrido, this six-episode series is iWantTFC’s Valentine’s Day offering, streaming worldwide exclusively on the iWantTFC app and website on February 14, with new episodes dropping daily.

The show is narrated by Yanna (Angelica), a financial advisor-turned-author whose world crumbles when she comes home to her husband, Y (RK Bagatsing), who announces he will be leaving her for his one great love. Yanna immediately gets drunk and hops on social media to livestream her miserable situation. Her relatable story goes viral overnight, and she becomes known as “The Goodbye Girl.”

Yanna finds her new purpose in life, which is to give online advice to people who have gone through the same thing. One day, she gets a book deal from a charming publisher named Jeff (JC De Vera) to write about the stories her followers have shared with her and the advice she’s given them.

Meet Mara (Loisa), “The Clueless Girl,” an actress who seems to have everything but can’t figure out why no one is willing to stay with her. Her ex-boyfriends have dumped her for no obvious reason – not even a third party – including her most recent one, Gab (Ronnie Alonte). Why do men fall in love with her quickly, but dump her just as fast?

Kiera (Barbie), meanwhile, is “The Other Girl” who becomes dissatisfied with being the mistress to Franco (Turs Daza), a married man. When she realizes that he may never fully commit to her, Kiera befriends his wife to get to know the “competition,” only to discover that she is just one of the many women being strung along by Franco.

Ria (Maris), “The Bitter Hopia,” seems to be getting mixed signals in her relationship with band member Caio (Rico Blanco). Everything about them is casual – the sex, the friendship, the connection – but she keeps hoping for more. Is he just not capable of giving love, or is she the problem?

Julia (Elisse), “The Legally Blind,” is a hopeful bride-to-be. She knows her fiancé Ean (Joshua Colet) is a womanizer, but believes he is only making the most out of his remaining bachelor days. She puts up with his behavior as he promises her he will stop having affairs with other women after they get married.

Produced by Dreamscape Entertainment and Clever Minds Inc., “The Goodbye Girl” streams on February 14, with a new episode dropping daily on the iWantTFC app (iOs and Android) and website (iwanttfc.com). Enjoy watching iWantTFC on a bigger screen through select devices on VEWD, ROKU and Amazon Fire streaming devices, Android TV, select Samsung Smart TV models, Telstra TV (in Australia), and VIDAA for select countries. iWantTFC is also available via Chromecast and Airplay.
