Here's Why and How Selsun Blue Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Really Works

Dandruff is a common and recurring condition that can be caused by certain factors, including an oily scalp, infrequent hair washing and even allergies you didn’t know you had. It can take the fun out of so many things, such as wearing dark clothes, baring your shoulders and even the simple act of flipping your hair.

Having dandruff is a sign that your scalp is not healthy. Thus, you need to address the problem at the root, literally and figuratively. How do you do this? There are many home remedies touted to treat dandruff, but many of these lack clinical research evidence for them to be credible. You can achieve dandruff-free status and gain more confidence by using a shampoo that really works to manage the problem.

Selenium Sulfide is an anti-infective agent that helps relieve itching and flaking of the scalp.

A common problem that people have with anti-dandruff shampoos is that they can dry your hair. No such concern with Selsun Blue, which has conditioning Honey Extract that moisturizes and softens hair.

The Selsun Blue line contains Selenium Sulfide 1%, French Honey extract, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5. The PRO-X Extra Strength with Menthol instantly soothes itchy scalp while the PRO 2-in-1 has built-in conditioner for even softer and more manageable hair.

PayMaya Powers Online Donations for "Kain Tayo, Pilipinas!"

As part of its mission to enable "digital bayanihan," PayMaya has equipped the Kain Tayo, Pilipinas! private sector-led campaign with online donation acceptance, allowing citizens to donate using their PayMaya account and any credit, debit, and prepaid card as well as other e-wallets.

Kain Tayo, Pilipinas! is a flagship program under the Pilipinas Kontra Gutom (PKG) movement, led by private corporations, media, non-government organizations, together with the Department of Education, the Department of Science and Technology’s Food and Nutrition Research Institute, and the National Nutrition Council. PayMaya is one of the key private sector partners supporting this effort.

The campaign, launched in time for the Philippine National Nutrition Month, is another milestone for the country’s public and private sectors to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030, following the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. It aims to feed more Filipino children and equip families with nutrition information to help alleviate malnutrition, especially amongst children 5 years and below.

PayMaya users can now donate by simply scanning the PayMaya QR in the website using their app. Anyone from around the world can also contribute to the campaign using any debit, credit, or prepaid card as well as any e-wallet through the Kain Tayo, Pilipinas! website via the PayMaya Checkout online payment gateway. Donations via PayMaya platforms for Kain Tayo, Pilipinas! are accepted by the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) as the campaign's donation acceptance partner.

Funds raised through the campaign will be distributed to non-profit organizations such as ABS-CBN Foundation, Gawad Kalinga, GMA Kapuso Foundation, Kabisig ng Kalahi, PBSP, Project Pearls, Rise Against Hunger Philippines, and UN’s World Food Programme. These organizations will, in turn, distribute meals to target beneficiaries.

The Kain Tayo, Pilipinas! campaign aims to holistically address the issue of hunger and malnutrition in the country. With PayMaya's digital payment technologies, we can accept donations not just from PayMaya users but also from any cardholder, even those from overseas,” said Private Sector Lead of Pilipinas Kontra Gutom Margot Torres.

Ensuring that each Filipino is getting enough nutrition from their meals is an enormous task. We, at PayMaya, are glad to be part of the Kain Tayo, Pilipinas! campaign to help achieve Zero Hunger by 2030 for the Philippines. Enabling this campaign with our digital payment technologies is in line with our mission of using financial technologies to make the lives of every Filipino better,” said Shailesh Baidwan, PayMaya President.

PayMaya has been leading the charge in enabling various non-profit organizations and communities through 'digital bayanihan' with its cashless technologies. It has provided the non-profit sector with solutions to digitalize transactions, allowing it to disburse cash to an ewallet account for emergency and relief response. Last year, under its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility program #PayMayaItForward, it launched the #OneAgainstCOVID, #OneForTaal, and #TyphoonRelief online donation campaigns to help over 50 donation partners to raise funds through PayMaya's online donation channels--the PayMaya website, donate.paymaya.com; PayMaya QR code; and through the Donation tile in the PayMaya app.

PayMaya is the only end-to-end digital payments ecosystem enabler in the Philippines, with platforms and services that cut across consumers, merchants, communities, and government. It provides more than 38 million Filipinos with access to financial services through its consumer platforms. Customers can conveniently pay, add money, cash out or remit through its over 250,000 digital touchpoints nationwide.

Its Smart Padala by PayMaya network of over 45,000 partner agent touchpoints serves as last-mile digital financial hubs in communities, providing the unbanked and underserved access to digital services. Through its enterprise business, it is the largest digital payments processor for key industries in the country, including "every day" merchants such as the largest retail, food, gas, and eCommerce merchants, as well as government agencies and units.

Have you checked-in on your team recently?

Many employees are feeling stressed and drained, an extensive study from Asia’s pioneer mental health and well-being company MindNation reports. MindNation surveyed more than 6,000 full-time employees in the Philippines from September, 2020 to April, 2021 regarding their well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic.

35% of employees surveyed said they are unproductive for an average of two hours during their shift everyday.

The 2021 survey revealed that presenteeism -- the phenomenon where employees show up for work but don’t perform at full capacity -- affects more than one-third of employees. This translates to productivity loss of an average of 10 hours a week.

Mental health support in the workplace has already been an area of concern before the pandemic but with the COVID-19 crisis, the emotional challenges employees are confronting have spiked,” said Kana Takahashi, Chief Executive Officer of MindNation.

Employees must deal with new working conditions -- having to balance work responsibilities with home duties, isolation, and managing fears about the pandemic, financial insecurity.

To address productivity issues and talent loss, business leaders must ensure that they are able to take care of their employees’ well-being. This can be done by creating a culture that recognizes and supports mental health.

Adrian Lindayag and Keann Johnson Romance Faces Backlash in “Love Beneath the Stars”

After falling in love in the hit boys’ love movie “The Boy Foretold by the Stars,” Adrian Lindayag and Keann Johnson will find their relationship threatened by intense scrutiny and backlash in its sequel series “Love Beneath the Stars,” an iWantTFC original that streams for free starting August 16.

As their love story continues, senior high school students Dominic and Luke (Adrian and Keann) officially become a couple. However, a controversial scandal, a third party, and disapproval from grown-ups will put their romance on the rocks and their future up in the air.

In an interview, Adrian and Keann shared the important lessons viewers can learn from the series about love and same-sex relationships.

When you choose someone, you have to stick with them. The moment you choose that person, you also have to accept all the challenges that come with it. Because Dominic and Luke faced multiple challenges when they decided to choose one another,” said Adrian.

Keann added, “Love knows no gender. No one can tell you who you should or should not love. Even if fate decides that you’re not supposed to be with this person, if you genuinely love this person and you want this person to be part of your life and you know he’s going to be good for you, then by all means you should fight for it.

In the sequel, Dominic’s deepening friendship with a fellow schoolmate named Gio (Vaughn Piczon) will cause tension between him and Luke.

However, an even bigger issue is bound to jeopardize their relationship. After attending their graduation ball as each other’s dates and sharing a kiss in public, their relationship will cause major uproar at their conservative all-boys Catholic school. The controversy will also upset Dominic’s parents (Agot Isidro at Romnick Sarmenta), who will strongly disapprove of his relationship with Luke.

Will Dominic and Luke rely on the stars to decide on their future or are they willing to gamble for their love?

“Love Beneath the Stars” is written and directed by Dolly Dulu and also stars Nikki Valdez, Agot Isidro, Romnick Sarmenta, Victor Silayan, and Iyah Mina. The iWantTFC original series will have six episodes with a new episode dropping every Monday starting August 16.

“The Boy Foretold by the Stars,” which won 2nd Best Picture at the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival, is also currently streaming for free on iWantTFC in the Philippines. The movie and its sequel series are also accessible to premium iWantTFC subscribers outside the Philippines.
