In order to protect his identity and the new life he built, Jacob decided to hold Rico hostage. However, Jacob will have to deal with even more problems when Iris gets involved in a controversial case, which may be linked to Jacob’s suspected murder.

‘The Voice Teens’ Alumnus Jay Garche Releases “Hayaan Lang” Under Universal Records

Jay Garche first introduced himself to the music industry after joining the Philippine reality singing television competition The Voice Teens Philippines in 2020. And right now, he’s finally to kick off his career as one of Universal Records Philippines’ freshest and most promising artists with this debut single called “Hayaan Lang.”

The Bacolod born and raised singer spent months of preparation honing his incredible raw talent before finally emerging this month on the local music airwaves. “Sobrang overwhelming ng lahat ng nangyari kasi parang ang bilis lang. Parang kahapon lang ako nag-audition, ngayon andito na ako,” he recalls.

Jay said that he really felt fortunate that he was able to release such a high-quality emotional ballad under UR because he personally finds this song so meaningful. According to him, the song details a perspective of a true friend that always reminds you to keep going because bad days don’t last forever.

He states: “Yung ‘Hayaan Lang’ po is mostly about parang perspective ng friend na nagbibigay po ng message na kahit may pinagdadaanan ka, hayaan mo lang ‘yung mga nangyayari kasi lilipas din ‘yun.”

He can still happily recall how the song itself touched and comforted him while recording it.

“Hayaan Lang” is an optimistic single that’s both soulful and powerful, making Jay assert himself as one of most promising solo artists right now.

Aside from this very special release of his debut single, Jay Garche recently had a wonderful journey towards self-improvement and he told the whole story of it by releasing a series of vlogs on his 129,000-strong YouTube channel. A couple of months ago, he underwent Rhinoplasty and he detailed every step of the procedure and treatment on his inspiring vlogs. In case his followers are wondering if the said surgery could affect his singing voice, Jay clarified it is not. He tells: “‘Yung after Rhinoplasty, ‘yung feeling ko po dati ganun pa rin po ngayon. Exactly the same. Ang sabi po ng doctor, ‘yung function po ng nose ‘di naman po magbabago. Yung appearance lang po.”

Jay hopes that his debut as a UR recording artist along with this single will help his career take off towards a breakthrough 2022. Moreover, he expressed his gratitude since he feels fortunate and blessed after being part of the major record label.

Lastly, he hopes that this track becomes a beacon of hope, comfort, and healing for its listeners.

“Kung need mo ng comfort, music is always there. ‘Hayaan Lang’ is always there for you.”

Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano's Confrontation Under the Rain Trends on Social Media

The emotional confrontation scene between Max (Belle Mariano) and Deib (Donny Pangilinan) under pouring rain took social media by storm as it scored multiple trending topics on Twitter during an episode of “He’s Into Her Season 2.”

The argument ensued after Deib found out that Max’s Uncle Boyet (Janus del Prado) is the prime suspect in the carnapping incident that almost killed Dale (Turs Daza), Deib’s older brother.

Donny and Belle admitted in an interview that shooting their confrontation scene was one of the most difficult scenes to do in the series.

Shooting that scene was no joke. Because it was raining, we can only do one take. We had to practice throwing our lines beforehand because whatever we will say in front of the camera, we can no longer change. We had to make sure the scene was ok,” said Donny.

Belle adds, “After seeing and reviewing the whole thing, I can say it was worth it.”

Fans who witnessed the heartbreaking yet sweet episode flooded social media with over 500,000 tweets as HIH2 Break Hearts, #HesIntoHerS2E9, Episode 9, and #DonBelle made the Twitter top trending list.

The much-talked about episode saw both Max and Deib in tears after Deib confronted her for not admitting that she knew all along about her tito being involved in Dale’s shooting. Deib feels extremely betrayed by Max, especially since they promised one another that there will be no lies and secrets between them.

Their rift will escalate further since Deib’s father is insisting that Max has been fooling him all this time. Despite this, fans were still left feeling ‘kilig’ after Deib shielded Max from the rain and defended her from bullies.

What will happen to Deib and Max’s relationship?

TBA Studios to Bring the Controversial Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner “Triangle of Sadness” to Philippine Cinemas

TBA Studios has acquired the exclusive Philippine theatrical rights to this year's controversial Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or winner Triangle of Sadness.

Swedish filmmaker Ruben Östlund directs a satirical masterpiece that has everyone abuzz. Set in the world of fashion, Triangle of Sadness follows fashion model couple Carl and Yaya as they embark on a luxury cruise adventure. All appears Instagrammable at first but a storm is brewing, and heavy seasickness hits the passengers during the seven-course captain’s dinner. The cruise ends catastrophically and they become stranded on a desert island with a group of billionaires and a cleaning lady. In the fight for survival, old hierarchies are turned upside down since the cleaning lady is the only one who knows how to fish.

Triangle of Sadness was easily the most talked-about film at the festival. Lauded by critics and audiences alike, the movie received an 8-minute standing ovation during its premiere screening. Film critic, Robbie Collin, gave it five stars and called it "a bold and brilliant film." IGN's Ryan Lesto writes, "Triangle of Sadness is a comedic tour de force from a director who really understands how to wage a tremendously funny class war. Östlund’s cringe-inducing humor pairs well with some genuine laugh-out-loud moments to create an all-around hilarious social satire."

Critics also praised the spectacular performances of the ensemble cast, most notably Filipino actress Dolly de Leon's breakout performance as Abigail, the yacht's cleaning lady. Variety's Clayton Davis describes her performance as "Oscar-worthy", suggesting that De Leon's defining supporting performance deserves recognition from the Academy Awards.

A veteran actress in theater and television, De Leon describes herself as a "bit player", known for playing various roles in local dramas. Her career-defining performance in Triangle of Sadness suggests a much bigger and brighter future for the actress.

The movie also stars Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean, Woody Harrelson, Henrik Dorsin, Zlatko Buric, Iris Berben, Sunnyi Melles, Vicky Berlin, and Oliver Ford Davies.

Triangle of Sadness is produced by Plattform Produktion and Coproduction Office. It's distributed exclusively in the Philippines by TBA Studios.

As a mini boss during their younger years, the Minions have fully supported all of Gru’s ideas and what he wants to become.

Setting the scene back in the 70s, the decade provided the filmmakers with a diamond-mine of music, fashion and pop-culture references to excavate. “I was about the same age that Gru is in our film when I grew up in the ’70s, so it’s very personal to me,” says director Kyle Balda. “The television, the music, the cars, the hairstyles, the bell bottoms - there was just a lot of flair to everything. And with the vibrant colors, the sparkles, disco - it was a visual decade, for sure, and very nostalgic to look back at this era for inspiration.”

One aspect of 1970s pop culture provided an opportunity to elevate the action in The Rise of Gru to a level never seen in any Illumination film before. “Another major reference and inspiration was kung fu films of the ’70s,” Balda says. “We scoured a lot of the movies that I enjoyed as a kid. Some of the sequences that we have in this movie are a tribute to that genre and the great work that’s been done in the likes of Jackie Chan’s Drunken Master and Stephen Chow’s Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer.”

“Minions: The Rise of Gru” features the voices of Steve Carell as Gru, Taraji P. Henson as Belle Bottom, Lucy Lawless as Nunchuck, Dolph Lundgren as Svengeance, Danny Trejo as Stronghold, Jean-Claude Van Damme as Jean-Clawed, Michelle Yeoh as Master Chow, Russell Brand as the young Dr. Nefario and Oscar-winner Julie Andrews as Gru’s mom.

Over four films, beginning with 2010’s Despicable Me, Illumination’s Minions have become international icons of mischief, mayhem and joy. Minions: The Rise of Gru is the fifth film in a franchise that continues to thrill and delight audiences in every country and on continent and, consequently, has become the biggest animated global franchise in history, earning more than $3.7 billion worldwide.

A Universal Pictures and Illumination animated feature film, Minions: The Rise of Gru opens in cinemas nationwide on June 29.
