‘It Takes a Man and a Woman’ Earns P300-Million in 2 Weeks

The joint project of Star Cinema and Viva Films–”It Takes A Man and a Woman”–surpassed the P300-million mark at the box office in just two weeks. It became the third Filipino movie to hit the mark after “Sisterakas” and “Praybeyt Benjamin.”

The romantic-comedy movie which is the final installment in the “Laida-Miggy” series of films starring John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo is on track to beat the box-office record of “Sisterakas” which currently holds the record for being the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.

The good news was announced Saturday on Twitter by Star Cinema advertising and promotions manager Mico del Rosario.

“It Takes a Man and a Woman,” which was graded ‘A’ by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB), scored a whopping P32.6 million on its opening day and P201 million on its first week.

It already broke the record of the first two films in the series which made John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo Box Office King and Queen, respectively. The first film, “A Very Special Love,” made P179.3 million in 2008. The sequel “You Changed My Life” grossed P225.2 million in 2009. Both films are in the list of the Top 10 Highest-Grossing Filipino Movie Of All Time.
