Meet the Characters Trying to Survive the Curse of “SANA: Let Me Hear,” Opens in Philippine Cinemas on November 13

When tragedy struck in 1992 as a middle school student fell to her death in front of her schoolmates, a curse was born, lying dormant.

During the summer of 2024, a series of events make it clear that the curse has emerged, targeting people who have connections to that fateful day, decades ago. “Sana: Let Me Hear” is the newest horror film by “Ju-On” director Takashi Shimizu, starring Nagisa Shibuya, Ikoi Hayase, and Soma Santoki.

Meet the characters entangled in the horror::

Honoka was recently hired as a summer teacher in the middle school that had tragedy befall on them decades ago. History seems to repeat itself as she witnesses one of her students fall to her death. She suspects a connection with one of her mysterious student, Sana, and with the help the other teens, Hitomi and Takeru, they try to outrun the horror seemingly unleashed upon them.

Honoka is played by NMB48 idol Nagisa Shibuya. She’s the current captain of NMB48’s Team M and a member of the group’s sub-unit Queentet. She is also a member of AKB48 sub-unit Tentoumu Chu!, and formerly an AKB48 Team 4 member.

Hitomi is a student of Honoka, and is one of the witnesses to a shocking death in the middle of her summer classes. She’s also one of the first people to meet Sana, an odd but seemingly friendly classmate. As they reel from the aftermath of the accident, Hitomi sets off to investigate the death, and its connection to the same accident 32 years ago, as darker events start haunting her, her teacher, and her fellow students.

Hitomi is played by Ikoi Hayase, who recently had the main role of Takumi Asa in the film “Worlds Apart,” and is part of the romantic comedy series “Teasing Master Takagi-san.”

Takeru is also one of the witnesses of the deadly fate that befell one of their classmates, and as more dark and mysterious events start occurring, he starts to investigate along with Hitomi and Honokia, to find surprising connections between them and the incident that occurred in the past.

Takeru is played by Soma Santoki, who was the lead voice for the Studio Ghibli film, “The Boy and the Heron.”

Sana is a mysterious student who is in summer class along with Hitomi and Takeru. As one of the students fell to her death during one of their classes, dark events start occuring, seemingly all connected to Sana. Investigations by the people being affected by what seems like a curse also try to find out more about Sana, who is more that she lets on.

Live the nightmare as “SANA: Let Me Hear” arrives in Philippine cinemas on November 13.
