CNN Philippines Launches First-Ever Podcast "“Suddenly Family” an Original Series Exploring Shocking DNA Results Hosted by Emmy Winner Samuel Burke

CNN Philippines, the most trusted name in news in the Philippines announces the release of its first podcast, “Suddenly Family,” hosted by Emmy-winning journalist Samuel Burke. Inspired by three astonishing DNA results in his own life, Burke masterfully draws on his own experiences as he unravels the mysteries of over a dozen families around the world whose lives are unexpectedly turned upside down by DNA testing.

In 2019, Burke gifted his father a DNA test, only to discover they’re not related to the Burke family and that his small Jewish family is actually part of a large Mormon family. As he delved deeper into his family roots, Burke also learned his mother had a sister whom she had no knowledge of. And, astonishingly, Burke found out that a cousin who his family believed had died of AIDS, is actually alive.

As a journalist, I’ve always lived to ask meaningful questions,” Burke says, “but I never dreamed I’d have to ask questions this intimate to my own family and to perfect strangers who have allowed me into the most earth-shattering moments of their lives.

The original Dao Ming Si and the new generation Shan Chai will make hearts flutter as ABS-CBN brings Jerry Yan and Shen Yue’s 2020 romcom fantasy drama series “Count Your Lucky Stars” to Filipinos on iWantTFC this February, and soon on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and Kapamilya Online Live.

In the series, Jerry plays the role of Calvin Lu, a popular fashion designer who seems to have his life all figured out – he has good looks, an exquisite eye for fashion, and incredible luck. Andi Tong (Shen), on the other hand, is the complete opposite as she is an unknown and struggling fashion designer who endlessly experiences bad luck.

However, their lives will turn upside down when an unusual and unexpected incident momentously brings them together. This time, their fates are reversed as Calvin struggles to rid himself of misfortune while Andi basks in good luck and suddenly becomes successful.

As their lives become intertwined, will destiny also lead them to fall in love with each other?

Real-Life Power K-Couple Features in new SMART TVC feat. Ben & Ben’s Original Song “Inevitable”

As a huge Valentine's Day treat, mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc. made the romantic wishes of K-Drama fans come true with the launch of a new TVC featuring Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin.

This is the first time the Crash Landing On You (CLOY) leads find themselves sharing the screen after their critically acclaimed and highly beloved drama series.

The TVC - which features Ben & Ben's original song "Inevitable" in the background - sees the two searching for each other in a crowded city aided by 5G technology. Their pairing in this commercial evokes a sense of doing the impossible, much like how subscribers are able to achieve more when they are connected to Smart 5G. Ben & Ben purposely wrote the music for this TVC in partnership with Smart.


Much like a climax to a trilogy, the latest TVC wrapped up an online clamor that started last June when Smart crash-landed into fans' hearts in via Hyun Bin's "Simple. Smart Ako" TVC, followed by another much-talked about Smart Signature TVC featuring Son Ye Jin last August.

These TVCs fueled anticipation for a joint TVC among fans, who made their wish loud and clear using the hashtag #InSmartWeTrust.

It will be recalled that Smart President and CEO Alfredo S. Panlilio first teased the public of a possible project involving the CLOY couple almost during the virtual press conference that launched Hyun Bin's ad.

Ben & Ben wrote the music and theme song for this project starring the two international stars. In the video's background, the local band performs "Inevitable," purposely written as musical score for this TVC in partnership with Smart.

The campaign also marks a rare occasion where a local brand (Smart) features global stars (Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin) as endorsers in a video that also features local musicians (Ben & Ben).
