Vin Diesel vs. Jason Momoa in "Fast X" Opens in PH Cinemas Starting May 17

The Fast and Furious franchise has been a global sensation for more than two decades, with each new film generating anticipation among fans. The franchise has evolved from street racing to heists and espionage, all while maintaining the central themes of fast cars, thrilling action and family.

With “Fast X,” fans can expect all these elements and more, in the beginning of the franchise’s epic final chapters. Helmed by Louis Leterrier, who is best known for his impressive action filmmaking, from The Transporter to The Incredible Hulk, “Fast X” stars returning cast members Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Ludacris Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, John Cena and Scott Eastwood with Oscar® winner Helen Mirren and Oscar® winner Charlize Theron. The film also features an extraordinary new cast including Jason Momoa, Oscar® winner Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, and legendary Oscar® winner Rita Moreno.

Since the Fast franchise began, Dom Toretto has been fiercely protective of his loved ones and is willing to do anything to keep them safe. Time and again, he puts his own life on the line to protect the family he’s created. This time around in “Fast X” though, he has more responsibility on his shoulders - most importantly, his now 8-year-old son, Little Brian (Leo Abelo Perry). This time around, Dom and his crew have yet to face an adversary quite like Dante (Momoa). “Dom has met his match,” director Louis Leterrier says. “Dante is fluid - he’s a snake. Not only has Dante analyzed Dom for twenty years, but he’s learned from Dom and is completely unpredictable.”

Dante, portrayed by Jason Momoa, is the son of the crime lord Hernan Reyes, whose final confrontation on a bridge with the crew in Fast Five sealed his fate. Now, Dante is out for revenge. “What you didn’t see in Fast Five, and what we see at the beginning of Fast X, is that Hernan had a son, Dante, who was knocked off that bridge and went into the ocean,” producer Jeff Kirschenbaum says. “Dante was dead for two minutes and came back to avenge his family. He’s studied Dom, and he’s ready to unravel everything that’s important to him. He’s taking Dom’s reputation, fracturing his family and framing the entire team.”

Momoa was excited to infuse his own flare into the portrayal of Dante. “I hadn’t played a villain in about 10 years, and the opportunity to have that role in this franchise meant so much to me,” Momoa says. “I was excited to inject a fresh and entertaining element to the character, and it was fun to figure out his specific balance of playfulness and psychopathy. Dom doesn’t understand how tricky and sly Dante is, and how Dante has duped him into his web.

Star and producer Vin Diesel says. “When we made the first movie, we filmed it in L.A. and it was a regional story. We never anticipated its global implications or appeal. We certainly didn’t anticipate that we would travel all over the world and take the theme of family around it.”

A Universal Pictures International presentation, “Fast X” will drive into local cinemas nationwide starting May 17.

Advance tickets now on sale at your favorite cinemas nationwide. Follow Universal Pictures PH on FB and IG for the latest updates.

Doc Nielsen Donato: Leading Animal Care with Technology, Skills, and a Whole Lot of Heart

I believe that Vets in Practice has revolutionized the way a vet hospital should look like,” says Dr. Nielsen Donato while giving a tour of the Vets In Practice (VIP) Animal Hospital branch in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

Since he was a young boy, Doc Nielsen has had a heart for animals. People would liken him to “Dr. Dolittle,” because of his fascination for all living creatures, from domesticated pets to wild animals. With over 30 years of veterinary experience, Donato is now known as one of the top veterinarians in the country. He is the managing partner and chief surgeon at VIP. When he’s not in the clinic, he co-hosts “Born to be Wild,” a weekly wildlife documentary on GMA7, and helps run the Laguna Wildlife Park & Rescue Center in Pansol.

At VIP, Doc Nielsen usually spends the whole day meeting animal patients. He would often do general check-ups, where he does a thorough assessment of the animal’s face, coat and skin, blood, and other important areas to spot signs of infection.

Before starting the check-up, Doc Nielsen would first greet owners as they enter the consultation room and ask their pet’s name. He also asks about the pet’s character to get a feel of how they behave. Based on his experience, he says that dogs are usually easier to examine because they’re used to human interaction, while cats can be challenging. His general rule is to just be patient with all animals.

You have to help them feel confident, relaxed, and just hold them gently,” he says. “You have to make sure that their check-ups won’t be traumatizing for them.

Treating animals with love and compassion

Established in 2003, VIP was started in response to a growing need for professional and compassionate pet healthcare. After two decades, it’s grown to four main hospitals and two subsidiary clinics that offer pet care and veterinary medicine for dogs, cats, birds, and exotic animals.

As one of VIP’s managing partners, Doc Nielsen experienced firsthand just how far the animal clinic has gone. He details that whenever they would do blood tests back in the day, the samples would be sent to a human laboratory and they had to wait at least a day for the results. “Kami ang unang nag-invest ng sariling machines specifically for animals. We can now get results within 30 minutes,” Doc Nielsen says.

We wanted to reduce the waiting. The longer pet owners have to wait for results, the more anxious they become about their pets’ condition,” he adds, emphasizing that all of their files are digital as well.

VIP has surgery rooms with all the tools veterinarians would need to perform routine and complicated surgeries. This is also where they conduct x-rays.

The clinic has a confinement area for animals who are recovering from illnesses and/or injuries. Pregnant animals can also stay and give birth in this area. Newborn animals will be placed in incubators to keep them warm and ensure that they develop fully and healthily.

In our Mandaluyong branch, we also have accommodations for pet parents, in case they want to watch over their confined fur babies,” Doc Nielsen relates.

Exotic animal patients

One of the perks of working at VIP is veterinarians get the chance to see and treat animals one wouldn’t see every day. The clinic has big kennels at the back that would sometimes have goats, horses, and big birds in them. “You’ll see all sorts of animals, from house pets to zoo animals. Everyone gets excited,” Donato says.

In the show that Doc Nielsen co-hosts, he often interacts with wild animals with courage. This is the same confidence and compassion he shows the animals at the Laguna Wildlife Park & Rescue Center, which he calls his “happy place.”

In VIP, there are also animals that are a mix of both domestic and wild, like Tigger the Savannah cat. This hybrid is the result of crossbreeding between a Serval and a domestic cat, making the Savannah bigger than the regular house cat.

Although they may act like a normal house pet, Savannahs like Tigger may not be as cooperative as domesticated cats. “If you decide to keep a pet like this, they’re not as calm because they still have that wild side to them. If you have smaller pets like hamsters, birds, or fish, you have to secure them because the Savannah’s hunter instincts are still there,” Doc Nielsen says.

Being a veterinarian can be quite challenging, especially when one has to work with different animals with varying needs every day. Fortunately, Doc Nielsen and the VIP staff are able to offer the best possible care with advanced technology and facilities, allowing them to fulfill their duty.

We really invested in the clinic, even with the interior design. We wanted it to be the prime area na madaling puntahan with comfortable rooms where owners with dogs and cats won’t feel stressed,” says Doc Nielsen.

Century Tuna Makes History with the Biggest Beach Clean-Up in Anilao for the Saving Our Seas Campaign

The Philippines is now taking more steps to achieve cleaner and livelier seas as Century Tuna kicked off its Saving Our Seas Campaign, becoming the biggest beach clean-up in the history of Mabini, Batangas. In partnership with the impact organization HOPE, and Aling Tindera’s Waste-to-Cash program which encourages the public to become responsible in plastic waste management - the country’s leading canned tuna brand aims to continue their Saving Our Seas program not just this year, but also in the years to come.

Being in the canned tuna industry for more than 40 years, Century Tuna wants to stay and provide nourishment to Filipinos for hundreds of years and beyond. In order to do that, the brand aims to fish sustainably by removing anything that makes the seas unhealthy.

Carlo Endaya, VP & GM of Branded Tuna Business together with Mabini Mayor Nilo M. Villanueva, and Greg Banzon, EVP & COO of Century Pacific Food, Inc. during the clean-up weekend

We should see it as a historic moment because Century Tuna has moved forward in terms of taking an initiative on sustainability, by putting together the right elements that will make it sustainable. I think it's a start, and given the response, it's inspiring to continue this campaign,” said Century Pacific Food, Inc. EVP & COO Mr. Greg Banzon.

The commencement of the campaign which started in Anilao, Batangas saw a successful turnout, as the first day of the shore and reef clean-up gathered a total of 156 trash bags with 805.4 kilograms of trash collected by a total of 212 clean-up volunteers, joined by Century Tuna Ambassador Alden Richards and the Century Tuna Superbods. This makes the event the biggest beach clean-up ever in Mabini, Batangas.

Mr. Carlo Endaya, Century Pacific Food, Inc.’s VP & GM for Branded Tuna Business emphasized that even if the clean-up started in Anilao, the program will happen nationwide. “We still want everybody in the Philippines to join even if they're not at the beach, because plastic pollution prevention starts in our home. Our usage of plastic has to make its way into the right material and recovering facility, and the Aling Tindera sites are also nationwide. That's what we want to communicate to people,” said Mr. Endaya.

More than just a clean-up activity, Century Tuna aims to inspire Filipinos through the Saving Our Seas campaign to take part in lessening the plastic pollution in the seas, and taking action to clear away existing plastic waste. With the help of the public in joining the advocacy, the brand’s goal is to collect 10 metric tons of plastic away from the seas this year.

We want to create more awareness for sustainability and more awareness towards taking plastic out of the system so that microplastics don’t leak into our ocean and eventually go into our food. We want to inspire more people to join the initiative as any effort, whether big or small, is important for our future,” said Mr. Leonardo Po, Director & Treasurer of Century Pacific Food, Inc.

Prior to the campaign, Century Tuna has been plastic-neutral in their operations for 3 years now. The brand recognizes Aling Tindera and HOPE Foundation as the gamechangers in completing the plastic circular economy, as they allow communities to earn money from collecting plastic, and makes sure that the plastic collected goes to the right facilities to be properly recycled or disposed of.

Alongside the Saving Our Seas campaign launch, Century Tuna also introduced their newest product Ventresca, the brand’s most premium tuna full of indulgence. The brand also commemorated this year’s Earth Hour movement during the event as a symbol of commitment to saving the planet.

Century Tuna’s “Saving Our Seas'' campaign is just a start of their many initiatives to help our planet. The campaign is not just a one-time, big-time event, as the brand still continues to track the plastic recovered in Anilao sites monthly. It also aims to stay aware of other clean-up efforts done by different organizations and find ways to support/help them - and ultimately save the planet.

Donny Pangilinan: On Keeping A Little Bit of Magic Every Day

Following a routine can help us keep our days organized, but sometimes doing the same tasks can make our days feel repetitive. This is something actor Donny Pangilinan is familiar with, but he makes sure to keep his days “magical.”

When you’re doing things over and over again, it’s going to feel like a cycle. So the most important thing is to be around people who won’t let you get sucked into showbiz and to make sure that you don’t lose yourself. Do things that remind you of who you are. At the same time, you shouldn’t forget to prepare for work,” he says.

The actor shared how he finds ways to turn even the simplest moments into magical ones, such as munching on his favorite Magic Creams snack when he’s at work.

Just like Donny, you can make your repetitive days more exciting. You can get inspiration from the magic man himself:

Relax and stay away from loudness

It’s important to relax your mind and body when taking a break, so it’s best to stay away from loud places first. What Donny does to relax is go on food trips or have game nights with his friends.

Spend more time around nature

Donny is an outdoorsy person, and spending more time around nature helps him wind down. One of his favorite hobbies right now is golfing. “It’s the best way to get away from the city and be in nature. My siblings got me into golf, so it’s a great bonding activity as well,” he says. He also likes going to the beach and scuba diving (fun fact: he’s building a beach house near the best diving spots in Anilao, Batangas!), hiking, and camping.

Try something for the first time

The best way to break out of a routine is to step out of your comfort zone and do something you’ve never done before. For Donny, he felt “magic” when he went skydiving for the first time in Dubai. “It was a magical moment for me because it gave me a feeling I’ve never felt before. I’d definitely try it again,” he says.

Get out and travel

A change of scenery is always a great idea when you want to want to add excitement to your repetitive days. If you haven’t gone on a trip abroad yet, this year might be the perfect time to do it for the first time. This is also what Donny wants to do once he’s done shooting his teleserye. “I want to travel more and be able to go to countries for the first time,” he says. Make sure to have a pack of Magic Creams in your carry-on as well so you can snack while waiting to board your flight. Donny’s personal favorite Magic Creams flavor is Chocolate because it energizes him.

These are some of the ways Donny enjoys and have fun even on repetitive days, so that he still feels motivated and inspired.

Just like Donny, the endorser of Jack ‘n Jill Magic Crackers, you can have a magical day with Magic Creams and its five sweet Linamyum Palaman flavors: Chocolate, Butter, Peanut Butter, Condensada, and Cheese. You can also switch things up by munching on Magic Chips - Donny’s go-to snack wherever he goes. There’s also his other favorite snack, Magic Flakes, which he enjoys with cheese, ham, and fruits.

Watch Donny as he stars in the newest kilig-worthy commercial of Magic Creams. Check out Magic’s Facebook page and this YouTube video to find out kung ga’no kasarap ‘pag may Magic!

Don’t Miss Out on Ed Sheeran's ‘Subtract’ Advanced Listening Event at the MOA Eye on May 4

Good news, Filipino Sheerios! You have the chance to be the first ones to listen to Ed Sheeran’s upcoming fifth studio album, ‘Subtract.’

Warner Music Philippines is holding an exclusive album listening experience at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Eye on May 4, 2023. This is the day before Ed Sheeran is set to release his latest album across all platforms.

Each cabin on the MOA Eye will be converted into a private ‘Subtract’ listening booth, where fans will have the once-in-a-lifetime experience of riding the ferris wheel while enjoying snippets of new music from Ed Sheeran. Those who want to take part in this event simply need to visit the MOA Eye during mall hours and pre-save the album on their listening platform of choice – it’s that easy!

As if being the first to hear ‘Subtract’ isn’t exciting enough, those who are lucky enough to be part of this event will also get the opportunity to win official Ed Sheeran merchandise.

Those who have been following the British singer-songwriter’s journey know that his upcoming album will be the most honest and vulnerable one yet, as it draws from hard-hitting events that Ed has faced in recent years.

He recently released a new single called “Eyes Closed,” which has an upbeat pop feel to it. However, closer inspection of the lyrics reveal that it captures the essence of love and loss, which is also reflected in the official video.

This song is about losing someone, feeling like every time you go out and you expect to just bump into them, and everything just reminds you of them and the things you did together. You sorta have to take yourself out of reality sometimes to numb the pain of loss, but certain things just bring you right back into it,” Ed shared about the song and its video.

If this single gives any indication of what we can expect from ‘Subtract,’ it’s clear that Ed’s new album will be one that bares his soul and taps into his most genuine emotions.

So what are you waiting for? Mark your calendar as not to miss the opportunity to be one of the first people to experience Ed Sheeran’s ‘Subtract’!

Follow the official social media pages of Ed Sheeran and Warner Music Philippines for more information and updates on this special event.

Filipino pop star Maymay Entrata takes her music to the next level as she teams up with Korean rapper-singer-songwriter Wooseok for her latest single “Autodeadma”.

It is Maymay’s first time to collaborate with an international artist, Wooseok, who is a member of the popular South Korean multi-national boy group under Cube Entertainment.

Maymay and Wooseok’s exciting project, released under ABS-CBN’s Star Pop label, is about how society will always have something to say about one’s success, so it’s best not to give them any attention.

Earlier, the Philippine-based record label posted a teaser for the song defining its title ‘Autodeadma’ as “the act of automatically ignoring comments and criticisms.”

Prior to “Autodeadma”, Maymay released the equally empowering tracks “Amakabogera” and "Puede Ba”. The popular P-pop soloist was nominated in last year’s MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) for Best Asia Act.

Make sure to listen to Maymay’s newest single, “Autodeadma” featuring Wooseok, available on music streaming platforms (
