Join World Vision's Global 6K Run for Clean Water

Every child deserves clean water to drink and for handwashing to help keep them healthy. For some people in rural areas living in vulnerable conditions, it takes a long walk to be able to get them.

A study released by World Vision revealed that six kilometers (3.7 miles) is the average distance people in developing areas would have to walk for water. This journey for clean water takes hours every single day.

This is why World Vision is launching the Global 6K Run, a virtual running event that aims to promote fitness and health during the pandemic while raising funds for the needs of World Vision’s most vulnerable children and communities.

Through this virtual run, World Vision aims to make clean water more accessible by raising funds to build multiple water facilities in Laurel, Batangas and other communities in need. These facilities will not only provide drinking water but also water for hygiene and sanitation purposes, especially since one effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is through proper sanitation and hygiene.

Coco Martin's "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" to Air in 41 Countries Starting this July

ABS-CBN's hit series "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" starring Coco Martin is set to air in 41 countries in Africa starting this July on StarTimes PTV, the leading digital TV operator in the Sub-Saharan region.

The good news was shared by the action-drama's producer Dreamscape Entertainment in a social media post on Tuesday night.

"Ang pambansang teleserye, pang international na rin! Mapapanood na ang #FPJsAngProbinsyano sa 41 countries sa Africa simula ngayong July sa StarTimes PTV Regional network," the caption read.

The iconic action series was the overall No. 1 TV program in the Philippines since its debut in September 2015 until the forced broadcast shutdown of ABS-CBN’s Channel 2 last year.

“Ang Probinsyano” migrated fully to digital in July 2020, a month ahead of the launch of Kapamilya Online Live, the free livestreaming of ABS-CBN programs on YouTube and Facebook.

Season 2 of Toprating Romantic Drama "Endless Love" Now Airs on ETC Channel

After the first season's overwhelming response from Pinoy televiewers, ETC Channel is bringing the second season of the hit Turkish drama series “Endless Love” to Philippine TV beginning June 28, Monday.

“Endless Love,” or “Kara Sevda” in Turkey (meaning “Dark Love”), is a popular and award-winning dizi starring Turkish heartthrob Burak Özçivit and prominent Turkish actress Neslihan Atagül as lovers Kemal and Nihan who come from different social backgrounds. The poor boy and rich girl go through very difficult challenges imposed by their situations and families, forcing Nihan to sacrifice her love in order to keep a family secret from being revealed.

In 2020, ETC made a bold move to offer more local content in their mostly English program lineup, first by airing Filipino movies and then by presenting Turkish series dubbed in Tagalog by way of the ETCerye primetime block. The first two dizi to air on the block were “Everywhere I Go” and “Endless Love Season 1.”

The audience response was unprecedented as the Tagalized Turkish dramas gained high ratings, especially for “Endless Love.” According to Kantar Media, 114 of the 115 episodes of “Endless Love Season 1”primetime telecast garnered triple-digit ratings; 21 episodes recorded 400+ points, seven got 500+ points while two episodes: Episode 68 and Episode 114 obtained 664.24 points and 608.43 points, respectively.

The Season 1 finale week of March 22 to March 26 became the second-highest rating week with 455.87 points. Thus, “Endless Love Season 1” is officially the highest-rated series in ETC’s 17-year history.

Season 2 promises to be more compelling. Nihan leaves Kemal who gets imprisoned due to a shooting incident. When Kemal finishes his prison term, his relationship with Nihan becomes strained even hateful. Meanwhile, Emir, the wealthy and powerful man Nihan married out of family pressure, still wants Nihan for himself and Kemal out of the picture for good. Hostility between Emir and Kemal reach an all-time high and Nihan’s presence precariously swings the balance between both sides. More secrets unravel and true intentions and allegiances are uncovered.

Jericho Rosales Shares How He’s Dealing with Stress Amid the Pandemic, His Life in La Union, and New Film Project in the US

Jericho Rosales sure is one busy guy. Apart from a steady stream of blockbuster movies and much- awaited teleseryes, the actor is a surfer, biker, and businessman. 

Right before COVID-19, he just finished a big project that took almost two years. He was looking forward to taking a break, which involves going to the beach or taking his bike out, but the pandemic hit and he was forced to stay indoors.

“It sucks not to be on set. And obviously hearing people dying left and right. Not being able to even hug your family sucks,” says Jericho.

In fact, the reality of the pandemic didn’t hit him right away. He adds, “Parang delayed reaction ‘yung sakin. It struck me in June or July. Noong March, it was okay pa but June, July, doon ako medyo tinamaan ng konti.”

During the early days of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), he busied himself with relief operations and fundraising events such as Ulysses Relief Fund which was spearheaded by his wife Kim Jones. While the entertainment industry took a break, he tried to create online shows but most of his early ideas were location-based. Eventually, he found a hit with Gabi na Naman with Jericho Rosales, an online show with celebrity guests.

He also hit his stride in his personal life. Today, he is based in La Union with his entire family. He says, “We've all settled and relaxed, and we've kind of embraced reality na this could be it for us.” These days, Jericho is keeping busy with domestic duties such as cleaning, walking the dog, going to the garden, and executing do-it-yourself projects. He’s had his film camera fixed, allowing him to experiment with photography.

He’s also staying healthy by watching the food he eats. Jericho stays active by swimming, surfing, running, walking, and calisthenics. Jericho says, “moving to the province, mas healthy ka.”

The quarantine has made his life goals more defined. It taught him to focus on the importance of a balanced life and the things that make him happy. More importantly, he learned to be more hopeful and to think positive.

“There are times when you're restless. You just try to be creative and at the same time not pressure yourself. At the end of the day it's all about safety and staying healthy. It's all about staying healthy [mentally] also,” he shares.

With all the things that he’s handling now, it’s expected that something’s got to give. He says, “I always get headaches because of working out and because of stress. My work is super high-stress. So I just normally retreat, take a break, take some Advil, and then go back to work.”

Jericho counts on Advil to help him cope with the demands of his career. The actor reveals that he has Advil everywhere, from his RV to his car and his “little kikay kit.”

Body Switch Between Idol and Reporter Happens in iQiyi’s C-Romcom “The Day of Becoming You” feat. Steven Zhang and Liang Jie

iQiyi’s romantic comedy “The Day of Becoming You” trails the hilarious experiences of the lead characters, played by talented actors Steven Zhang as an idol and Liang Jie as a reporter, whenever they experience body-switch in the series.

Steven Zhang’s previous work in the hit drama “Go Ahead” (2020) captured the attention of the viewers and in his latest role in “The Day of Becoming You,” Zhang plays Jiang Yi, a quiet and calm leader of a male idol group whose body was switched with an entertainment reporter Yu Sheng Sheng (Liang Jie) during an accident. What follows is a series of lingering entanglements throughout the series where they find their bodies often being switched. Playing each other’s role, Steven Zhang’s realistic portrayal of a female character such as feet-stomping, acting cute, sitting postures, facial expressions and actions were sufficiently on point. It was a perfect replication of the character Yu Sheng Sheng played by Liang Jie. He even recently earned recognition for his acting from the netizens who also wished to award him the “Best Actress” title for becoming the most eye-catching “Summer Girlfriend” of June.

The interesting part of “The Day of Becoming You” is when the two lead characters had to explore and get used to each other’s body. Inevitably in life, one will need to answer nature’s call or get changed. When female lead Yu Sheng Sheng’s soul entered Jiang Yi’s body, Steven had to touch his own abs in front of the mirror. Other than that, Steven had to act as a delicate girl who has to warn the other party to always put on undergarments. When it was time for Yu Sheng Sheng’s period, Steven transformed into a health instructor to teach Jiang Yi’s soul residing in Yu Sheng Sheng’s body on how to handle that situation. Steven even helped to massage Yu Sheng Sheng’s abdomen. The combination of funny and interesting plot as well as the process of their body switching unknowingly developed into a love relationship, much to viewers’ delight.

These exclusive behind-the-scenes magazine photos and video of them that were recently released highlighted Steven and Liang’s screen chemistry. Love vibes were over-pouring as they ran across the lawn and fooled with each other as a couple on the sofa. Wedding Video: Janine Gutierrez Gets Married with Paulo Avelino in “Marry Me, Marry You”

Viewers are excited for award-winning actress and new Kapamilya Janine Gutierrez’s first ABS-CBN teleserye “Marry Me, Marry You” as its first look earned over a million views just six hours after it was released by ABS-CBN Entertainment and Dreamscape on Facebook and YouTube on Wednesday (June 30).

Shot like a wedding film, the ten-minute video shows Janine donning a white wedding gown and a veil as she walks down the aisle towards her leading man Paulo Avelino, while their co-stars and directors also dressed the part and were present as guests in what appears to be a wedding ceremony.

According to one of the show's directors, Dwein Ruedas-Baltazar, viewers will be able to relate to and find comfort in watching the program.

“I wanted something that the audience can come home to, aside from just relating to it, especially if they feel drained in life. When they watch the show, I want them to feel comfort and as if it's their mini-sanctuary,” shared Direk Dwein.

Direk Jojo Saguin, on the other hand, said that even if it is not the “typical teleserye,” viewers will still be able to gain insightful lessons about family and find inspiration in the series.

“As much as possible, our goal is to be light but we want viewers to still be touched by the story. It’s different because even if it won’t have very dramatic scenes or confrontational shouting matches, it is still very heartfelt,” said Direk Jojo.

Direk Jojo also added, “They will be able to relate to the families in the story because even if they encounter problems, they’re still a happy family. They can learn valuable lessons. In the end, family is love. Family is forever.”

The star-studded cast also includes veteran actors Cherry Pie Picache, Vina Morales, Teresa Loyzaga, Lito Pimentel, Joko Diaz, Jett Pangan, and Edu Manzano.

The chosen contestants are in for an exciting journey with their mentors, which include the head of Star Magic Workshop, Direk Rahyan Carlos, head of Star Hunt, Raymund Dizon, and head of TV Production Digital Group, Alex Asuncion.

Exciting prizes will be given to the winner, which include an ABS-CBN management contract, a Star Magic Workshop scholarship, his/her own digital show, a chance to work with some Kapamilya stars in a digital film, and a cash prize of P50,000.

Returning as hosts are Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza but this time with the help of new loveteam Kaori Oinuma and Rhys Miguel.
