PayMaya Brings Php1-M Aguinaldo to QC Employee and Gawad Kalinga in Paymayaguinaldo Raffle Promo

For Stefan Ema Mae Corregidor, the joy of going cashless became sweeter when she learned that she won the Php1-million grand prize in the PayMayaguinaldo Raffle Promo.

With this prize money, the 31-year-old employee from Quezon City is sharing and giving back the joy to her family by building a home for her mother who is currently residing in Davao City.

What made the news priceless for Stefan is also knowing that through the PayMayaguinaldo Raffle Promo, another Php1-million worth of "aguinaldo" is being given to the Gawad Kalinga School for Experiential & Entrepreneurial Development (GK-SEED) Philippines to help graduates who have set up their own enterprises accelerate the growth of their business.

As Filipinos celebrated a more somber holiday season due to COVID-19, PayMaya thought of how to make its PayMayaguinaldo promo more rewarding. First, it gave PayMaya users a chance to win 1 million pesos by simply paying via PayMaya QR and their PayMaya registered mobile number at partner merchants or purchasing prepaid load and other treats at the PayMaya in-app shop.

On top of this, PayMaya aimed to share the blessing with agri-entrepreneurs from underprivileged communities through GK-SEED Philippines. For the past three years, PayMaya has chosen GK-SEED as campaign beneficiary because of its track record in helping the youth overcome poverty through education and entrepreneurship.

"Amid the global pandemic, millions of Filipinos have joined the 'cashless' revolution for safer and more convenient payments. With our PayMayaguinaldo promo rewards and cashback, we provided a merrier way to pay. The experience was also made extra rewarding as our promo campaign gave our customers the means to give back to the community by helping support student scholars of GK-SEED and overall foster agri-entrepreneurship," said Mark Dee, Head of Growth Marketing and Partnerships at PayMaya Philippines.

For Stefan, she discovered PayMaya during the community quarantine. After using the PayMaya app for government bills payments the first time, she has been continuously enjoying the convenience and rewards every time she pays bills, shops online, buys load, among others. From doing cash transactions, Stefan has also shifted to PayMaya for sending money to her loved ones and family members. It eliminated the hassles of travelling to payment centers and lining up to just to send funds.

"PayMaya helped in making my life easier amid the pandemic as it offered a safer, more convenient and rewarding way to pay for my transactions whether online or in-store. With this, I'm able to enjoy the benefits of going cashless and avoid the use of cash which can be the source of the virus." said Stefan.

Meanwhile, for GK-SEED, PayMaya's "aguinaldo" will go towards providing a combination of live and virtual mentorship to its graduate scholars and kickstart resources to support their agri-enterprises.

"We'd like to thank PayMaya for the continued support for our young students who are the greatest gems of our institution. This 'PayMayaguinaldo' will help strengthen our mission in empowering agri-entrepreneurs to build a better and stronger country," said Mark Lawrence Cruz, GK-SEED School Director.

Getting your own PayMaya account and enjoying the rewards of going cashless is very easy. Just download the PayMaya app at https://official.paymaya.com/CAK1/425eb133 and register an account to find out what it's like to go cashless with the fastest, safest, and most rewarding way to pay for anything online and in stores! Remember, for your everyday needs, don't pay cash. PayMaya!

Singapore-Based Pinoy Artists Tonie Enriquez and Dave Anonuevo Release Collab Track “Love Ain’t Real”

Singapore-based Filipino music artists Tonie Enriquez and Dave Anonuevo just released their new single "love ain't real," which paints the emptiness in love's uncertainty through its English and Filipino lyrics.

Released under ABS-CBN's Tarsier Records, "love ain't real" is about a relationship that felt too good to be true and uses its strong bass lines and impactful kicks to evoke heightened emotions. Tonie and Dave co-wrote the song, with the latter also being its producer.

"The Filipino lyrics in the bridge was our personal favorite because we both know that the 'hugot' language hits the hardest. The transition from first drop to the bridge strikes to represent the feeling of being complete to feeling empty," the duo shared.

The pop-electronic track is the first Tarsier Records project of Tonie and Dave, who both grew up in Singapore. Individually, Tonie is a singer-songwriter and an experienced stage performer while Dave has made quite a name for himself in the Lion City through his impressive portfolio with established and rising artists.

But their constant homesickness to the Philippines along with the urge to seek a deep and meaningful connection to their home country have led them to make music with the Manila-based label.

"Beyond just a perfect match in Tarsier's sound and ours, we really love the message that Tarsier Records stands for, 'to become the bridge for Pinoy artists to have an opportunity to enter the global music scene,'" they said.

Stream Tonie and Dave's "love ain't real," out now on various digital music platforms. For updates, follow Tarsier Records on various social media accounts @tarsierrecords.

Liza Soberano and Shay Mitchell Topbill Netflix Original Anime Series "Trese"

Netflix revealed the lead voice cast of "Trese," the highly anticipated Netflix Original Anime series based on the Philippine graphic novel created by Budjette Tan and KaJO Baldisimo.

Filipino actress Liza Soberano (My Ex and Whys, Alone/Together) will voice Alexandra Trese in the Filipino language version of the series. Filipino-Canadian actress Shay Mitchell (YOU, Pretty Little Liars) will voice the lead character in the English version.

Set in a Manila where the mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding amongst humans, Alexandra Trese finds herself going head to head with a criminal underworld comprised of malevolent supernatural beings.

Speaking about the lead cast, Executive Producer Jay Oliva said, “As a fan of the komiks, I knew that the title role of Alexandra Trese was going to be challenging to cast for the animated series. It is important for the voice talent to embrace the layered character to fully become Alexandra Trese. My concerns went away as soon as Shay Mitchell stepped into the recording booth. Shay’s Alexandra exceeded my expectations and she delivers a performance of strength, determination and family duty that is at the very core of the character. If that wasn't enough, imagine my delight when we confirmed Liza Soberano joining the Filipino voice cast! I am a big fan of hers and she fits the character so well. Having Liza play Alexandra Trese for the series makes this project even more special to me and my team!

I'm so excited to be a part of a unique and amazing project like Trese, and to voice a character as brilliant as Alexandra Trese. Philippine folklore is rich and fascinating, and I am thrilled to be a part of the team bringing this story to life." - Shay Mitchell

"It’s an honor to be the voice of an iconic character such as Alexandra Trese. I’m a huge fan of Budjette and KaJO’s award-winning Trese comics. Maraming salamat! Excited na ako!” - Liza Soberano

Trese will premiere in 2021, only on Netflix (www.netflix.com/trese).

Look: Andrea Brillantes' 18th Birthday Grand Debut Shoot

For her 18th birthday, Andrea Brillantes is celebrating the way she deserves: on the digital cover of top fashion title, Metro!

This month, the star, social media maven, and beauty muse is gracing the cover of Metro in celebration of the day she becomes a woman. In our conversation with Andrea, we talked about how much she’s grown in the last five years, the success of "Kadenang Ginto" and her upcoming teleserye “Huwag Kang Mangamba” this month, her newly-finished dream house for her family, and her being social media savvy, among others.

The concept, “Grand Debut,” was done in collaboration with Star Magic head Direk Lauren Dyogi. The debutante of the year, Andrea, was transformed by Metro with 18 looks. Since she couldn’t throw a traditional 18th birthday party considering the current circumstances, Metro organized this stylish debut-themed shoot for her instead.

She wore creations by some of the country's top fashion designers, like Michael Leyva, Mak Tumang, Francis Libiran, Mark Bumgarner, Vania Romoff, Patty Ang, Joe San Antonio, Debbie Co, Patricia Santos, Steph Tan, and Erika dela Cruz, as well as pieces from the H&M x Simone Rocha collection.

Andrea also got to work with some of the best talents in the fashion industry. The shoot was creative directed and styled by Eldzs Mejia, while she was photographed by Doc Marlon Pecjo, and had her hair and makeup done by RJ dela Cruz and Anthea Bueno. The shoot itself was styled by Gideon Hermosa, and Nice Print Photo captured precious behind-the-scenes moments in photos and videos. And of course, only the most regal venue for a young queen like herself: The shoot took place in Palacio de Memoria in Parañaque.

(Trailer) "In The Heights" Starring Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Jimmy Smits

The time has come to turn up the volume! Check out the new trailer of Warner Bros.’ “In the Heights” and watch the film soon in Philippine cinemas.

About “In the Heights”

The creator of “Hamilton” and the director of “Crazy Rich Asians” invite you to a cinematic event, where the streets are made of music and little dreams become big... “In the Heights.”

Lights up on Washington Heights...The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tight-knit community. At the intersection of it all is the likeable, magnetic bodega owner Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), who saves every penny from his daily grind as he hopes, imagines and sings about a better life.

“In the Heights” fuses Lin-Manuel Miranda’s kinetic music and lyrics with director John M. Chu’s lively and authentic eye for storytelling to capture a world very much of its place, but universal in its experience.

“In the Heights” stars Anthony Ramos (“A Star is Born,” Broadway’s “Hamilton”), Corey Hawkins (“Straight Outta Compton,” “BlacKkKlansman”), singer/songwriter Leslie Grace, Melissa Barerra (TV’s “Vida”), Olga Merediz (Broadway’s “In the Heights”), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Broadway’s “Rent”), Gregory Diaz IV (Broadway’s “Matilda the Musical”), Stephanie Beatriz (TV’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”), Dascha Polanco (TV’s “Orange is the New Black”) and Jimmy Smits (the “Star Wars” films).

Chu is directing the film from a screenplay by Quiara Alegría Hudes; it is based on the musical stage play, with music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, book by Quiara Alegría Hudes and concept by Miranda. “In the Heights” is produced by Miranda and Hudes, together with Scott Sanders, Anthony Bregman and Mara Jacobs. David Nicksay and Kevin McCormick served as executive producers.

“In the Heights” was filmed in New York, primarily on location in the dynamic community of Washington Heights.

“In the Heights” is distributed worldwide and in the Philippines by Warner Bros. Pictures, a WarnerMedia Company.

5 Reasons Why You Should Not Miss "Zack Snyder’s Justice League" on HBO Go via SKY

"Zack Snyder’s Justice League" has more to offer to fans in this superhero-stacked film featuring Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg.

"Zack Snyder's Justice League" promises to be a rollercoaster ride experience. Here are five reasons why you should watch it as it arrives on Philippine shores on HBO GO via SKY:

Zack Snyder's version is four hours and two minutes long

Zack Snyder's version proves to be a jam-packed wonder for fans to experience as it promises a four-hour epic, expanding the backstories of our beloved heroes—from the introduction of Cyborg's mother, Elinore Stone; the love interest of The Flash in Iris West; the appearance of Vulko (Willem Dafoe) and how he deepens Aquaman's story arc; to the emotional affair between Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and Superman himself.

More screen time also means more action-packed scenes, more characters to behold, and provides viewers a much broader spectrum.

Never-before-seen, existing-footage for die-hard DC fans

With its extended running time, the film promises more never-before-seen footage. Apart from the featured Justice League heroes—Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher)—fans should watch out for another member in the mix in Calvin Swanwick, also known as the Martian Manhunter (Harry Lennix).

Fierce adversary Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello) also has extended scenes in the film, while Ryan Choi (Zheng Kai) expands his role for viewers to unravel. Fans can watch the triumph of the Justice League against Akropolis' nightmare, Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds), in its extended glory, along with the first-time appearance of apocalyptic god Darkseid and the haunting return of Jared Leto's Joker.

"Zack Snyder's Justice League" divided into six chapters

For a much easier viewing experience for fans, the producers made sure to divide the four-hour film into six chapters, including a special epilogue, to make give fans the options how to watch it. It also gives fans to get to know more the characters which a theatrical version cannot.

Additional editing for the spectacle of fans

The film also showcases a new musical score, written by its original composer Junkie XL, also known as Tom Holkenborg. Its visual effects team worked tirelessly on thousands of shots that needed to be done or re-done for the avid viewers.

Miguel Odron Brings Neo-Soul in His Rendition of Air Supply’s Greatest Hits “Lost In Love”

Former “Idol Philippines” finalist Miguel Odron brings a neo-soul R&B twist to one of Air Supply’s greatest hits “Lost In Love,” a new Tarsier Records track that is set to drop on digital platforms on March 26 (Friday).

I worked on this song in Siargao, one of the beautiful islands here in the Philippines, and I guess that’s how the breezy, island energy wormed its way into the production,” Miguel revealed.

Inspired by 8-bit theme songs from old video games, the Kapamilya artist self-produced a unique take on the Air Supply classic, incorporating chill hop elements to a bed of bossa nova sounds and topping it off with his smooth vocals.

Personally I’d listen to this on the road, while working out, or whenever I just wanna chill out. It’s the kind of song that doesn’t need your full attention to be appreciated, it can just chill out in the back,” he enthused.

The singer-songwriter also talked about his eagerness in interpreting a song that is recognized by music lovers around the world. “The massive untouchable impact of the original freed me from the pressure of trying to do just as good, so I could really focus on just having fun with it and reproducing the song as if I wrote it myself,” he said.

Miguel’s “Lost In love” rendition is part of Tarsier Records’ series of Air Supply remakes to be released as a compilation album by the end of 2021. It follows Inigo Pascual’s reimagined version of “All Out Of Love” out last February.

Written by Air Supply’s Graham Russell, “Lost In Love” was released in 1980 and reached no. 3 in the US Billboard Hot 100.

Watch out for Miguel’s version of “Lost In Love,” out on March 26 (Friday) on various streaming services.
