A Gold Standard Partnership: TCL and Asia's Superstar Kathryn Bernardo Mark 4 Years of Inspiring Greatness

Riding the momentum of their historic sweep at the 61st Anvil Awards, TCL Electronics, the Triple Global Top 1 TV Brand and the leader in Fresh Air AC sales, has reached another landmark milestone this 2026. The tech giant officially sealed its contract renewal with Asia’s Superstar, Kathryn Bernardo, for the fourth consecutive year. This partnership highlights the shared pursuit of excellence, seamlessly merging TCL’s world-class innovation with the country’s brightest star to continue 'Inspiring Greatness' across the nation.

The partnership was formally formalized during a contract-signing ceremony held in Pasay on January 30. In attendance were TCL Deputy Marketing Director Shae Yu and TCL Brand Manager Joseph Cernitzchez, alongside Kathryn’s management team, VCM led by Francis Vidanes, collectively marking a new chapter of collaboration and shared vision for the brand.

Kathryn Bernardo has become integral to the TCL brand in the Philippines. Her credibility, consistency, and influence reflect our pursuit of excellence. We are excited to strengthen this partnership and create campaigns that continue to inspire Filipinos nationwide. Her connection with audiences helps bring TCL’s innovation and values closer to everyday Filipino homes,” said TCL Brand Manager Joseph Cernitchez.

Kathryn’s decision to renew was a natural one, having witnessed and contributed to the brand’s meteoric rise over the last four years. She is eager to embark on this next chapter, noting that her personal journey has beautifully mirrored TCL’s own evolution from a market challenger to a global industry leader.

Seeing TCL achieve these new milestones makes me so proud! Our partnership works so well because our missions are perfectly aligned. I’ve always wanted to work with a brand that never stops innovating, and I’m so happy to be growing alongside a team that truly 'Inspires Greatness,” she enthused.

For Kathryn, this partnership is deeply personal. As she navigates life in her own abode and enters her ‘adulting’ stage, she has decisively curated her space with the very products she represents. It is a testament to how TCL’s innovation supports her journey as a modern, independent woman.

I feel so blessed to have a home powered by innovation I can truly depend on. It’s definitely made me even more of a home buddy! There’s nothing I love more than staying in and getting lost in the incredible picture quality of my TCL QD-Mini LED TV,” she added.

Staying in has never been more refreshing. Kathryn’s ultimate home companion is her TCL FreshIN 3.0 Airconditioner, which brings next-gen comfort to her space. With its intuitive voice control, she doesn't even have to lift a finger; the FreshIN responds to her every command, making her relaxation time completely seamless.

I guess the best kind of luxury is being able to enjoy the quiet moments. I’m happy to enjoy it with TCL FreshIN AC. I love having smarter, quieter, cooler moments at my home while I’m saving energy and making it easy to control the temperature through the offline voice control,” Kathryn enthused.

Even with a demanding schedule, Kathryn Bernardo manages her home life with surprising ease, thanks to the TCL Super Drum C682. What used to be a tedious chore is now a seamless part of her routine; with the Super Drum's intuitive controls, she simply loads her laundry and starts the cycle with a few taps. This high-performance efficiency allows her to reclaim her time and focus on what truly matters while the C682 handles the rest.

There’s a special kind of joy Kathryn finds in the simple task of grocery shopping for her home. She loves being personally involved in choosing what goes into her kitchen, and she relies on the TCL Free Built-In Refrigerator to keep everything fresh. With its sleek, flush-fit design, it integrates perfectly into her space, supporting her lifestyle as a modern, hands-on homeowner who values both style and substance.

Navigating the complexities of 'adulting' has become a much more graceful journey for Kathryn. She’s incredibly grateful to TCL for being her 'co-pilot' through the adulting stage, turning everyday house chores into seamless experiences that let her truly enjoy the independence of having her own space.

Words can’t quite capture Kathryn’s appreciation for how TCL has empowered her during this pivotal chapter. From managing her first home to mastering daily responsibilities, she credits the brand’s innovative technology for giving her the ease and confidence she needs to thrive in her adulthood.

With so much excitement, she said, “I’m so proud to grow with TCL, and I’m personally looking forward to the new innovations they have in store. I know these products will be a total game-changer—not only for my own home but for every Filipino who loves the ease and comfort of smart living. There is so much to look forward to!

Four-Time NBA Champion and Producer Stephen Curry Aims to Bring Animation to the Courtside in “GOAT”

Smalls can ball! GOAT is the newest animated film from Sony Pictures Animation, the studio that created the “Spider-Verse” films and “KPop Demon Hunters.” An underdog story in which a small goat named Will (Caleb McLaughlin) gets the opportunity of a lifetime to play professional roarball. In a sport dominated by the fiercest and largest animals in the world, Will is on an uphill battle to prove to himself and the world that anyone can be on the court.

Watch the trailer: https://youtu.be/-8WZgnjORoo

Stephen Curry, legendary basketball player and producer for GOAT, feels a personal connection with the story of Will. “I relate to the entire story of ‘GOAT,’” he says. “My journey resembles Will’s—being overlooked, underrated—but finding your self-confidence through it all. It’s about the power of the team: No matter what walk of life, you can’t do anything great without the people around you. It’s cool to bring that into ‘GOAT,’ knowing how relatable it is—not just to my story, but to everybody.”

Curry wanted to showcase the culture of sport into animation, and bring his world off the court and into the big screen. “We included the accessories, the clothes, a dope soundtrack–the cultural references that everybody can laugh at and appreciate,” he says. “This is a timeless story–if you watch it 20 years from now, you’ll go back to a moment in time. We're super excited to have those relatable references throughout the entire movie.”

Will’s voice actor Caleb McLaughlin also has a soft spot for his character and story. “I think underdog stories hit people because we’ve all felt like underdogs at some point,” he says. “We all start from a low place and have to push through our own version of concrete. And when you finally reach a goal, you remember the moments you struggled, or wanted to give up, but didn’t. People doubt you along the way, and I think audiences relate to that. These stories usually find people right at the moment they feel like quitting, and watching an underdog win reminds them to keep going.”

The sport of roarball is entwined with nature and the biomes that animals call their home, ranging from tropical jungles and the frigid tundras. “They can make use of all of their animal attributes,” says producer Michelle Raimo Kouyate. “They run on two paws, four paws, use their tails, horns, snouts, wings, tongues—anything goes.”

That’s where the prejudice against smalls playing such a dangerous game comes into the picture. “In our world, there’s no difference between bigs and smalls as far as the culture is concerned,” says co-producer David Schulenburg. “But roarball is so dangerous—the pace, the terrains—the idea that a small goat would play the game is just unheard of.

For co-director Adam Rosette, “GOAT” speaks to the universal desire of following your dreams, and seeing them realized. “It represents what it’s like to have a dream, not only what it’s like to play sports,” he says. “It’s about Will’s dream, which just happens to be becoming a pro roarball player. If you’ve ever had a dream—something that you aspire to be—this movie is for you. There’s heart, there’s hustle and humor.”

Get ready to play ball as “GOAT” arrives in Philippine cinemas on February 11.

BINI Jhoanna Plays a Cameo Role in “The Witness,” Puregold’s Heartwarming Tribute Film to Sari-Sari Store Owners

Puregold carries on with its heartfelt tribute to Filipino sari-sari store owners or micro- entrepreneurs with its Sari-Sari Stories video series, the newest installment of which features a special cameo from BINI’s Jhoanna. “The Witness” is a short film that tells a tender, coming-of-age love story, one that unfolds across the years, shaped by change, constancy, and the quiet presence of a sari-sari store owner who sees it all.

Jhoanna’s cameo adds an extra layer of warmth and relatability to the narrative, underscoring the film’s message of appreciation for small business owners across the country.

The latest Sari-Sari Story follows the budding romance between two childhood sweethearts, their youthful ardor eventually evolving - through the years - into real enduring love. The video depicts the highs and lows of their relationship, all from the perspective of a humble sari-sari store owner who witnessed them all.

Puregold senior marketing manager Ivy Hayagan-Piedad echoed Jhoanna’s sentiments, saying, “Puregold has always been a proud ally of micro-entrepreneurs across the country. Through Sari-Sari Stories, we continue to uphold the role sari-sari store owners play in our everyday lives. In their communities, they bring people together by providing convenience and access to daily essentials.”

“The Witness” rides on the momentum of earlier Sari-Sari Stories installments such as “Ways” featuring SB19’s Stell, and “The Sign,” which included a cameo by Skusta Clee. The series has collectively sparked conversations online and resonated with netizens, Aling Puring members, and Puregold followers, reinforcing the remarkable part sari-sari stores play in everyday Filipino life.

As the series continues, audiences are spurred to watch for the next story, reflecting how sari-sari stores have - over time - integrated themselves into people’s lives and into the communities they serve.

Official Synopsis:

On the remote Mount Langlang, four nameless little demons — a pig, a toad, a weasel, and a gorilla — live quiet, overlooked lives. Unnoticed by the world, they are neither powerful nor heroic. One day, they embark on a daring journey, mimicking the legendary Tang Monk’s pilgrimage to the West, hoping to gain strength, recognition, and a sense of purpose.

Along the way, they face dangers, encounter evil forces, and are tested in courage and wisdom. In the end, they defeat a formidable enemy, yet lose their magical abilities and return to ordinary animal forms.

Though they do not achieve legendary fame, they earn respect and gratitude from those they helped, proving that even a “nobody” can accomplish extraordinary deeds.

Nobody is too small to make a difference! Join the four nameless little demons in NOBODY and follow their journey in PH cinemas, February 4!

Bam Aquino Recognized as 2025’s Most Favorable Senator

From the outset, following his successful return to the Senate, Senator Bam Aquino immediately buckled down to work, taking on key issues such as education and transparency in the utilization of public funds.

Sen. Bam's efforts did not go unnoticed, as he was recognized as the most favorable senator in Publicus Asia’s Pahayag 2025 End-of-Year (PEOY-2025) survey.

He garnered a 54-percent net favorable rating in the nationwide poll conducted among 1,500 registered Filipino voters from December 7 to 10, 2025.

Sen. Bam was followed by Senators Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan (47 percent), Risa Hontiveros (46 percent), Bong Go (42 percent), and Rodante Marcoleta (38 percent).

The PEOY-2025 survey is an independent, non-commissioned, nationwide purposive sampling survey, with respondents randomly selected from the market research panel of the US-based PureSpectrum.

Publicus Asia was the only survey firm that accurately predicted Sen. Bam's second-place finish in the 2025 senatorial elections.

As chairperson of the Senate Committee on Basic Education, Sen. Bam is actively pushing for concrete reforms with education at the center of his legislative agenda.

Sen. Bam's Senate Bill No. 1482, otherwise known as the Classroom-Building Acceleration Program (CAP), which aims to address the enormous 165,000-classroom backlog, is expected to pass on third and final reading next month.

Under the proposed measure, LGUs and NGOs with a proven track record will be authorized to construct classrooms using national government funds, in compliance with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) standards and guidelines.

As part of his push for transparency and accountability amid the massive flood control scandal, Sen. Bam's Citizen Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability (CADENA) Act, also known as the Blockchain the Budget Bill, was approved by the Senate on third and final reading with a unanimous 17-0 vote, with no objections and no abstentions.

In addition, most of Sen. Bam's campaign promises have been fulfilled, including the allocation of P1.38 trillion for education, the largest in the country’s history.

The budget includes P67 billion for the implementation of Republic Act No. 10931, or the Free College Law which he authored, P68 billion for classroom construction, and P25.6 billion for the School-Based Feeding Program.

The bicameral conference committee also approved Sem. Bam's proposal for the addition of P500 million under the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the Higher Education Development Program, specifically allotted for Financial Support for RLE Requirements in Allied Health Sciences Programs.

Allied health sciences programs include Nursing, Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Radiologic Technology, Midwifery, Nutrition and Dietetics, Speech-Language Pathology, Human Biology/Pre-Med Allied Programs, Dentistry, Biochemistry, and Psychology.
