Kapuso Sparkle Stars Dress Up for First-Ever ‘The Sparkle Spell’ Halloween Party

The surprises never stop as Sparkle GMA Artist Center holds its first-ever Halloween party via “The Sparkle Spell.”

Following the successful GMA Thanksgiving Gala last July 30, Sparkle artists and online influencers are set to show off their scariest, sexiest, and most stylish costumes in one bewitching evening this Sunday (October 23) at XYLO at The Palace in Taguig City. Some of the Sparkle celebrities are already used to dressing up for an annual Halloween party with their friends and families, while others are excited to experience it for the first time.

Max Collins: “I try to dress up for Halloween every year! This is my first Halloween party since the pandemic so I’m excited about it. I’m slowly putting together my costume, trying to be particular about the details.

Zephanie: “It is not my first time attending a Halloween Party, but it definitely is my first time dressing up for Halloween and I’m really having a hard time picking what character or costume I’m gonna be wearing. I’m just really excited to see everyone’s costumes and have a fun and scary night with my fellow Sparkle artists.”

Weeks before this much awaited event, the stars have already been preparing a lot to get red-carpet ready and look their best for the spookiest night of the year.

Ysabel Ortega: “I want to find the perfect costume that would suit my personality. But at the same time, finding a costume that is different from what people would expect me to wear. Ako mismo ang pumili ng costume na isusuot ko and when I showed it to my glam team, super na-excite sila because we have a chance to really play around with my makeup, my hair and my outfit.

Luke Conde: “Since this is the first, I decided to look close to the character I'll be wearing and part of it is I didn't cut my hair short. I have two costumes prepared for this event, the one that I prepared and the other is suggested by a friend. I felt that the character that my friend suggested is the better option. I just chose which costume of that character is best for this event.”

The fans are definitely in for a treat with the most epic, haunting and impressive looks and costumes the artists have carefully prepared for this Sunday.

Ashley Ortega: “I had my costume made to get the exact same look of the character I’ll be at the party. I went for a costume/character that people would always say I look like that person. I can’t wait for people to see it cause I get a lot of comments from my fans that I should be this person on Halloween.”

Gabbi Garcia: “I actually dress up for Halloween every year and I am very hands on when it comes to curating my looks! My team and I carefully planned my look for the event. We made sure that we were all aligned and coordinated with the overall look.”

Watch out for your favorite Sparkle stars as they flaunt their creativity, style and unique ideas for The Sparkle Spell. Catch the event via livestream on Sparkle’s Facebook page, YouTube channel and TikTok account this Sunday, October 23.

The blood carpet begins at 5:30 PM.

The results recognized 191 companies as being the most outstanding in their respective sectors and markets.

The poll was designed to acknowledge listed firms that have excelled in areas such as financial performance, management team excellence, investor relations and corporate social responsibility.

"While we are humbled by the recognition from the various fund managers, analysts, bankers and ratings agencies who took part in the voting, we would like to acknowledge the efforts of all our stakeholders - employees, suppliers, customers, and consumers - who have helped us persevere through the last two years of the pandemic,” said Lee.

The company will continue to work diligently to become the leading food and beverage sustainable enterprise from the Philippines,” he added. “We’re building new legs and entering new spaces with innovation as our growth engine.”

Lee said with the Covid-19 pandemic now receding in the background, “URC enters this new chapter with gratitude, knowledge and a newfound vigor to sprint toward our vision for a sustainable future”.

(Trailer) Arjo Atayde's International Series "Cattleya Killer"

ABS-CBN released on Thursday (October 20) the trailer of “Cattleya Killer,” its upcoming international drama series starring 2020 Asian Academy Creative Awards Best Actor Arjo Atayde, which aims to promote Filipino talent and stories to the world.

The two-minute trailer starts by featuring a woman’s corpse with a Cattleya flower on top of her face, leaving investigators baffled as it is reminiscent of the style of Gene Rivera (Aga Muhlach’s character in “Sa Aking Mga Kamay”), a serial killer who terrorized Manila two decades ago.

The trailer shows viewers pivotal scenes in the six-part series, which is adapted from the 1996 Star Cinema movie “Sa Aking Mga Kamay,” including the return of Joven (Christopher de Leon) as the NBI agent who will handle the case of cryptic murders and Anton (Arjo) telling his dad, Joven, that the new killer is not a copycat since he thinks the killer has developed his own pattern.

As seen in the trailer, “Cattleya Killer” also offers a glimpse of the action-packed and sinister scenes that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

Arjo’s other acclaimed co-stars appearing in the trailer are Jake Cuenca, Jane Oineza, Ria Atayde, Ricky Davao, Nonie Buencamino, Ketchup Eusebio, Frances Makil-Ignacio, Jojit Lorenzo, Rafa Siguion-Reyna, and Zsa Zsa Padilla.

Meanwhile, “Cattleya Killer” had its premiere screening at MIPCOM Cannes on October 19, marking a milestone for Philippine entertainment as it was the first Filipino production to screen at MIPCOM, the world’s largest content market.

In attendance were the team from ABS-CBN and co-producer Nathan Studios Inc., including ABS-CBN International Production head Ruel Bayani, Arjo, Ria, and their parents and co-producers, Sylvia and Art Atayde.

“I would like to dedicate all our efforts to our Kapamilyas, our kababayans, the Filipinos all over the world. To champion Filipino talent in the global stage is one thing, but to provide them joy, pride, honor, and inspiration – that to ABS-CBN is a true measure of our success,” Ruel said before the premiere screening.

Arjo couldn’t help but gush about “Cattleya Killer” saying, “It is such an honor to be part of this. It is such a learning experience. I just want to thank all Filipinos for actually finding their way to support us today. We will continue to inspire, to bring out the message, and to just keep doing what we’re doing.”

Netizens who have seen the trailer also praised the highly anticipated series from ABS-CBN and Nathan Studios.

Someone tag those who said Philippine cinema is dead, I think ABS-CBN International Production’s ‘Cattleya Killer’ might just change your mind,” said Instagram user @vincerovicc.

Ganda. I can feel awards coming. Congrats direk [Dan Villegas] and the whole cast and crew,” Instagram user @dpa23rd said.

Directed by Dan Villegas, written by Dodo Dayao, and executive produced by Ruel S. Bayani, “Cattleya Killer” will be released for international audiences as ABS-CBN continues its global march. The country’s leading content provider, ABS-CBN continues to forge new partnerships to promote Filipino stories and talent all over the world. “Cattleya Killer” follows “Almost Paradise,” the first American TV series filmed entirely in the Philippines, which ABS-CBN co-produced with Hollywood’s Electric Entertainment.

Other ABS-CBN International co-productions in the pipeline are “Concepcion,” a crime family series centering on a Filipino kingpin in Los Angeles starring Sharon Cuneta, and “Sellblock,” a New Bilibid Prison-set drama that involves an American agent to be headlined by Jericho Rosales.
