Puregold Channel’s "GVBOYS" Starring Jerome Ponce, Nikko Natividad and Dave Bornea Rakes 1M views on Facebook and YouTube

Because life can be overwhelming, we need every bit of fun we can get.

This is the heart and soul of the Puregold Channel. Its "shoppertainment" concept, which combines shopping and retail, brings fun and happiness to Filipinos households in these challenging times.

"GVBOYS: Pangmalakasang Good Vibes," which has eight episodes plus two special ones, is the Puregold Channel's first digital series. True to its title, the series is filled with good vibes and Puregold Channel subscribers and followers have enjoyed the first two episodes so much that combined views on the Facebook page and YouTube channel have already surpassed 500,000!

"GVBOYS: Pangmalakasang Good Vibes" stars three promising young actors - Jerome Ponce, Nikko Natividad and Dave Bornea - and comedians Wilma Doesn't and Elsa Droga

Playing Aling Pearly, who owns the boarding house that Daks, Zeus and Jawo (played by Bornea, Ponce and Natividad) are living in, is actress Carmi Martin, who was part of the successful "Chicks to Chicks" sitcom in the 1980s.

"GVBOYS: Pangmalakasang Good Vibes" was inspired by 1990s sitcoms, specifically "Palibhasa Lalaki," hence the boarding house concepts.

But beyond the inspiration from 1990s sitcoms, "GVBOYS: Pangmalakasang Good Vibes" has its own identity and brand of fun.

In Episode 1, which was aired on July 10, we were introduced to Jawo (Ponce) and Daks (Natividad) who are boarders in the house of the half-Korean Aling Pearly. Kathryn B (Elsa Droga) is Aling Pearly's half-brother.

We also meet Zeus, Aling Pearly's godson from the US, who also stays in the boarding house. There is s a bit of a ruckus when Jawo, Daks and Kathryn B suspect that Zeus is gay but that's soon settled, and they decide to be friends.

But all isn't well as they discover that Aling Pearly has borrowed some money with the boarding house as collateral and lended Loisa Soberano (played by Wilma Doesn't) wants her money or the house. In the second episode, which aired on July 17, Jawo, Daks and Zeus vow to help Aling Pearly in whatever way they can. With Kathryn's help, Jawo gets a job as a movie extra. He plays a zombie in the movie but because he's a narcoleptic, Jawo falls asleep while filming. Dax finds a job online but it apparently it leads somewhere unsavory. Zeus tries to sell his stuff online, but he ends up dancing before the highest bidders.

They also find out that Zeus' parents have hired and paid for the services of a House Angel to help him with house chores. The name of the House Angel is Avana and when she arrives, Jawo and Daks become infatuated with her.

Meanwhile, Loisa continues to hound Aling Pearly for payment and the boys think of making her fall in love with one of them.

In the end, it is Jawo who goes on a date with Loisa and it appears that he has fallen in love with her.

10 Tips on Saving for a Home from iQiyi’s "Monthly Magazine Home"

iQiyi’s Korean rom com “Monthly Magazine Home” gives you the easy…and extreme lessons on owning a home. The iQiyi Original and exclusive series follows the lives of a team of editors working in Monthly Magazine Home owned by a real estate developer named Yoo Ja-sung (played by Kim Ji Suk), who used to be an orphan and whose meticulous attitude towards time and money eventually made him a billionaire.

One of Monthly Magazine Home’s editor Na Young-won (Jung So-min) who recently lost her job, faces a new hurdle as the owner of the house she’s renting plans on transforming the whole place into a new development, forcing all tenants to vacate the place. With the help of a longtime friend, Young-won was able to land a new job under Monthly Magazine Home. To her surprise, she again meets the landowner who evicted her from her apartment as she learns that he is her current employer.

Meanwhile, Ja-sung soon realizes where he has met Young-won and things soon become unpredictably funny and confusing between the two of them and with the rest of the magazine team. Working for 10 years and still renting, Young-won has long dreamed of owning a home but can barely get through the years. Armed with a new job and reinvigorated with determination to own a home, Young-won soon finds herself subscribing to Ja-sung’s informative online channel on real estate. Despite Ja-sung’s extreme tips on saving to own a home, Young-won decided to change her spending habits to achieve her dream.

Here are some of Young-won’s baby steps on saving for a home that’s worth looking into if you’re living on a limited budget (or even if not):

  1. Skip buying that expensive morning coffee. Young-won’s daily morning coffee costs KRW 4,000. In her mind, Ja-sung nags her that in a week, it’s KRW 28,000 and KRW 1.46mil in a year, she eventually turns around and heads outside the café.
  2. Use your primary bank’s ATM to withdraw money. Ja-sung appears on the ATM’s monitor reminding Young-won that the machine charges a fee of KRW 1,200. Soon enough, Young-won is convinced and walks even further to her primary bank’s ATM.
  3. Dismiss the 50% off notifications from online shopping apps no matter how tempting it is.
  4. Skip on buying a new curtain even if the design is a little outdated. Young-won stopped herself from purchasing a new one in order to add to her savings.
  5. Join a community on home ownership, Ja-sung says it’s better to have like-minded companions on your journey on saving up for a home.
  6. Take that free kimchi that the host is offering for you to take home.
  7. Don’t be a pushover, learn to say no when colleagues are cheering on you to treat them for snacks or coffee. Ja-sung keeps appearing on Young-won’s phone screen to toughen her up.
  8. It helps to have a convenient-store buddy to split the cost on those 1+1 deals.
  9. Don’t easily throw that old hair tie and use creams or lotions sparingly.
  10. Create a KRW 10,000 per day spend calendar. This is one of the super frugal methods that Ja-sung suggested on spending only KRW 10,000 per day.

With Ja-sung’s saving tips, Young-won is constantly reminded on not wanting to be poor again and is motivated with the aspiration “Don’t be indebted to tomorrow’s me”.

Now streaming on iQiyi, “Monthly Magazine Home” also stars our favorite K-drama actors Jung Gun-joo, Choi Go, Chae Jung-An and Nam Sang-soon who give life to the series’ eclectic and vibrant characters.

Dr. Ong is a philanthropist who has been donating medicines and beyond, to less fortunate members of society. Leveraging on what PascualLab has to offer in terms of health innovations, Dr. Ong has been sharing Poten-Cee adult and pedia products to community members in Southville III, Muntinlupa City; frontliners at San Lazaro Hospital; and residents at Baseco Compound in Tondo starting last year.

This July, officers of PascualLab will welcome Drs. Willie and Liza Ong to Balagtas, home of PascualLab’s manufacturing plant, to personally turn over Poten-Cee N.A., Poten-Cee Plus, and C-Lium Fibre Special Edition to the residents, children, and medical frontliners in the municipality through the Regional Health Unit.

The partnership is part of PascualLab’s CSR program SEED which stands for Sowing to Empower, Educate, and Develop. Belle Mariano Torn Between Donny Pangilinan and Jeremiah Lisbo

Max (Belle Mariano) is caught between her past and her present as her ex-boyfriend RJ (Jeremiah Lisbo) suddenly returned to her life just when she is beginning to fall in love with Deib (Donny Pangilinan) in the last two episodes of the hit series “He’s Into Her” on iWantTFC.

Deib finally confessed to Max that he likes her and intends to be her boyfriend. But their blossoming relationship might have to take a backseat with the return of RJ, who also happens to be the team captain of Deib’s rival basketball school.

RJ has returned into Max’s life to rekindle their friendship after ghosting her and breaking her heart. Although Max gave him the cold shoulder at first, she ultimately accepted his apology after learning of his harsh and lonely experience in the United States.

Deib, on the other hand, is unaware that Max has resolved her issues with RJ and that they are back to being friends. RJ, however, is not the only threat to Max and Deib’s blossoming romance, since Deib’s ex-girlfriend Kimeniah (Dalia Verde) has also returned to break them apart.

How will Deib react when he finds out that Max has rekindled her friendship with RJ?

Pia Wurtzbach, Anne Curtis, and Aga Muhlach Share Why the Chickenjoy is the Pride and Joy of the Philippines

Filipinos are well known and loved around the world. That much can’t be denied, as our culture and race have made a lot of notable contributions to the international scene. Whether it’s unbeatable creative talent, inventions that help shape our lives, or simply the tireless workforce that helps keep everything going, Filipinos have long been the source of wonderful things.

But out of all the contributions the Philippines has given the world, there’s nothing quite like Jollibee Chickenjoy. The best-tasting crispylicious, juicylicious fried chicken has become an iconic taste that brings so much joy to so many people not just at home, but all around the globe.

Jollibee’s new TV commercial highlights why Chickenjoy is becoming a world-class food icon. This new ad features three iconic Filipino household names - Pia Wurtzbach, Anne Curtis, and Aga Muhlach - each representing an aspect of Chickenjoy that makes it the pride of the Philippines.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach represents the Joy of Filipino Pride, as Chickenjoy as a Philippine product is well-loved by both Filipinos and foreigners alike. Foreigners love it for its highly sought-after experience, while Filipinos abroad always look for it because it gives them a much-needed taste of home.

When I’m abroad, I always try to look for a Jollibee store so I can have Chickenjoy that reminds me of home no matter where I am. As a Filipino, I’m proud that many people around the world love Chickenjoy as much as we do,” said Pia.

Top star Anne Curtis represents the Joy of Famous Taste, as the crispylicious and juicylicious taste of Jollibee’s iconic fried chicken brings joy to everyone, everywhere. Anne Curtis is the perfect fit to represent the Chickenjoy’s famous taste, as the multi-talented actress - who’s won fame and recognition both locally and internationally - comes full circle as her own career began after she was serendipitously discovered eating and enjoying Chickenjoy at a Jollibee store as a balikbayan.

Anne’s enjoyment of the Chickenjoy is a testament to its world-famous, absolutely unique, and truly delicious taste, which is also why Jollibee is referred to as the “Home of the Famous Chickenjoy” outside the Philippines.

I’ve had many different fried chicken, but there’s really nothing that compares to the crispylicious and juicylicious Chickenjoy. I’m proud that a lot of people both in the Philippines and abroad agree that it’s undeniably great-tasting fried chicken,” said Anne.

Lastly, Philippine showbiz legend Aga Muhlach represents the Joy of Family Through the Years, as Chickenjoy has also played a huge part in bringing families together over the many decades. Chickenjoy serves as a great family bonding meal, allowing everyone to become closer over the best-tasting fried chicken.

I know first-hand the ability of Chickenjoy to bring families together, as my own family loves to bond over a bucket of Chickenjoy. I’m proud that it brings people closer together across the world,” said Aga.

There’s no mistaking the global impact of Chickenjoy, and we’re truly proud that we are able to create a homegrown product that the world can fall in love with. Our three ambassadors truly represent the best aspects of the Chickenjoy, and we are happy to tell the Chickenjoy’s story through them,” said Cathleen D. Capati, Jollibee Marketing - AVP for Bestsellers.

Maine Mendoza Reveals a Smarter Way to Pay Using 'GigaPay with PayMaya' Feature

Before her showbiz career took off six years ago this month, Maine Mendoza secretly desired to be an actress and just used the video-sharing app Dubsmash as her outlet.

Her entertaining clips lip-synching iconic movie scenes went viral and landed her an audition for the noontime variety show Eat Bulaga, in which she clinched her life-changing role as ‘Yaya Dub.’ The rest, as they say, is history.

My story attests to the importance of pursuing and sharing your passions online. I realized that you really need to put yourself out there because it’s the easiest way to be found by people who share your passion, appreciate what you can offer, or can lead you to an opportunity or path you’ve been searching for,” said Maine, who has since assumed many roles and dabbled into being a host, singer, author, and entrepreneur, among other things.

Maine’s latest role however is being the face of GigaPay, an innovative collaboration between Smart and PayMaya for seamless payments on the GigaLife App. GigaPay with PayMaya makes it so much simpler and easier for subscribers of Smart Prepaid, Smart Postpaid, Smart Bro, Prepaid Home WiFi, and TNT to buy load and subscribe to promos so they can stay connected online anytime and anywhere.

"We've all run out of data while doing something important, and we know it's such a big hassle. GigaPay addresses that so nothing gets in the way of your passions," said the 26-year old actress who constantly reaches out to her fans on social media.

There are more platforms today than when I started six years ago, which means there are more ways to discover what you’re good at, try different hobbies, and improve your craft online. You just need to be connected all the time - and you can now rely on the GigaLife App for that,” she said.

Smarter Way to Pay

During the launch of GigaPay with PayMaya, Smart SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business Jane J. Basas explained why Maine is the perfect endorser for the new GigaLife App service: “Maine has really come a long way. She has inspired many content creators with her journey, and we know that she can urge more Filipinos to harness the power of the Internet and social media when it comes to pursuing their dreams.

Smart’s value brand TNT was one of my first endorsements when I started in 2015. It was such a big deal for me to get the trust of the biggest telco brand in the country at that time. Now, I’m so happy to be back to promote a smarter way to pay and proudly say, ‘Simple, Smart Ako,’ Maine said.

Download the GigaLife App now

To stay connected online using GigaPay with PayMaya, subscribers must first download or update the GigaLife App on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Upon logging in to the app, simply tap the GigaPay icon to link your existing PayMaya account as your payment source. If you still don't have a PayMaya account, you may easily create a new one and just link to GigaPay without having to leave the GigaLife App.

Once GigaPay has been activated, adding load and buying promo on the GigaLife App can be as easy as clicking your preferred promo, and swiping across your screen to confirm your purchase. You also earn GigaPoints, which you can exchange for data rewards and exclusive perks when using this feature.

Download the GigaLife App now and always stay connected powered by Smart, the country’s fastest mobile data network as reported by third-party analytics firms like Ookla and Opensignal. TBA Studios' Seductive Adult Drama “Show Me What You Got” Airs July 30

TBA Studios is releasing the seductive adult drama “Show Me What You Got” on July 30 and it will be available on all major streaming platforms in the country.

Helmed by Svetlana Cvetko, “Show Me What You Got” revolves around the intriguing romance between three attractive, free-spirited twentysomethings in Los Angeles - a grieving coffee shop waitress Christine (Cristina Rambaldi), a struggling actor and semi-professional fighter Nassim (Neyssan Falahi), and Marcello (Mattia Minasi), a man living in the shadow of his father, an Italian soap opera star.

The three form a wholehearted ménage à trois, finding joy together by joining political protests, making art, and falling deeper into their unconventional love, until one must return to Italy. Their experience there threatens the delicate balance of their relationship

“Show Me What You Got” holds an admirable 80% Fresh rating across all critical reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. AIPT reviewer Nathaniel Muir said it is “a beautiful-looking movie that is reminiscent of the French New Wave.”

Known for her luscious and exquisite cinematography, Cvetko presents a captivating and well-acted story with great style for a film about contemporary love and life awakening, which includes LA anti-establishment undertones and unfocused careers,” Film Threat’s Sabina Dana Plasse wrote.

The black-and-white romance film also had a strong festival presence in the last two years. Among the accolades it received were Cariddi D’oro Award for the Best Film at the 2019 Taormina International Film Festival, Best International Film Award at the 2019 Terra Di Siena International Film Festival, Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature and Best Cinematography award at the 2019 High Falls Women’s Film Festival, Best Cinematography at the 2020 Santa Fe Film Festival, Best of The Fest Grand Jury Prize at 2020 San Antonio Film Festival, and Best Supporting Actress and Best Cinematography at the 2020 Loudoun Arts Film Festival.

When does intimacy become love? And is the romance between three souls as valid and pure as other kinds of relationships? Find out on “Show Me What You Got”, streaming on Upstream, KTX, iWantTFC, and Ticket2Me, starting July 30.
