Ortigas Malls Wins three Anvil Awards for ‘Larger Than Life’ Events

Ortigas Malls recently bagged three awards for its events from the 59th Anvil Awards. The prestigious annual awards recognize public relations efforts that show exemplary performance in various categories.

Ortigas Malls received three Silver Anvil Awards for Special Events for Gahum Sa Buwak: Flower Power, Ortigas Art Festival 2023, and Greenhills Christmas Night Market 2022. The company was recognized for its “Larger Than Life” efforts to bring entertainment and happiness to its shoppers in its multipurpose spaces.

Gahum Sa Buwak was a free month-long exhibition at Estancia Mall that kicked off Women’s Month 2023 featuring works by Dabawenya artists and fashion designers from the Floral Artists of Davao. The event was attended by Vice President Sara Duterte, who gave an inspiring speech about the positive impact of art in the Philippines.

Another month-long art event was Ortigas Art Festival 2023 at Estancia Mall, which emphasized the importance of creating connections through art. Shoppers were given the chance to view different works by local artists and join workshops to enrich their creativity.

The Greenhills Christmas Night Market in 2022 was Ortigas Malls’ way of welcoming back shoppers as pandemic restrictions eased. Families and friends joined together to enjoy diverse cuisines, shop for gifts, and simply enjoy the company of loved ones outside of their homes.

Why Did Kathryn Bernardo Cry During Her Renewal of Contract with ABS-CBN

Asia's Superstar Kathryn Bernardo remains a solid Kapamilya as she renewed her contract with ABS-CBN, her home network for 20 years in showbiz, on Friday (February 2).

During her grand contract signing hosted by Dimples Romana, a teary-eyed Kathryn expressed her gratitude and love for ABS-CBN.

“I remember in 2020, I made a promise, sinabi ko sa ABS-CBN na ‘di kita iiwan at nandito lang ako hanggang makabangon ka ulit. And today, here I am fulfilling that promise. Ang daming nangyari sa ABS-CBN but mahal ko, eh. Mahal ko sobra ‘yung kumpanya and together we will rise despite all the challenges. We’ll be stronger and even better,” she expressed.

Addressing the ABS-CBN executives, she remarked, “I trust you more than anybody when it comes to work. ABS-CBN is the perfect home for growth. Thank you for supporting my decisions and everything that I do.”

Carlo Katigbak, ABS-CBN president and CEO, gave his heartfelt message for Kathryn.

“You really are our superstar. You have an amazing talent on screen and it shows in the success in everything that you do but more than that, I have been witness to your most special trait – it's the kindness and the grace that you showed to the people around you,” he said.

ABS-CBN COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes also turned emotional as she praised Kathryn's good character and work ethic.

“You have been an inspiring icon because you've proven to be an excellent actress. You have remained very humble and true all these years and that's what makes you beautiful inside as much as it makes you beautiful on the outside,” she shared.

Meanwhile, Kathryn's family, colleagues, industry mentors, supporters, brand partners, and closest friends shared their touching messages for the Kapamilya star as she marked another career milestone.

VILMARK Releases Emotional Song "INOWY (I’m Not Okay Without You)"

Singer-songwriter Vilmark releases his latest single, “INOWY (I’m Not Okay Without You),” under GMA Music. The soul-stirring track is a powerful ballad about dealing with loss and finding the strength to move forward.

A song that serves as a sequel to his previous song “Lisan,” INOWY is a deeply personal song for Vilmark, who wrote it as a way to cope with the death of his father in 2022. “This song is about sharing with people that it’s okay not to be okay. Because it’s a phase that you need to go through to move forward and start anew. Until you accept the reality that you’re not okay, you’ll keep masking your true feelings. I wrote this song from a place of pain, but I hope it can bring comfort and hope to others who are going through tough times. It’s okay not to be okay, but it’s important to remember that we are not alone,” shares Vilmark.

Vilmark’s earlier composition “Lisan” was also selected by Jennylyn Mercado for her latest GMA Prime series “Love. Die. Repeat.” with Xian Lim. Vilmark expressed his gratitude for the unexpected opportunity, “I was so excited. I watched Ms. Jennylyn sing the song on All-Out-Sundays. She told me that it was a beautiful song and was perfect for ‘Love. Die. Repeat.’”

Despite working as a full-time engineer on a night shift, Vilmark continues to balance his professional life with his passion for music. BGYO Unveils Billboard for Comeback Song “Patintero”

Filipino pop group BGYO has unveiled the billboard of their comeback single “Patintero” set to be released on February 9 (Friday).

The eye-catching billboard displayed outside the ABS-CBN Compound in Quezon City showcases the vibrant and youthful image of members Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate which mirrors the song’s message of moving forward and enjoying life despite the challenges one might face.

“It’s about life na parang kahit gaano karaming obstacles, it doesn’t matter kung manalo o matalo ka. Ang importante alam mong masaya ka at wala kang tinatapakan na tao and you’re a sport,” Gelo shared.

“Patintero” serves as the first single off their upcoming third album which they revealed to be a personal project for them as they have become more hands on with their own music.

“Mas involved na kami sa lahat ng songs at ini-incorporate yung sarili naming ideas sa lyrics, sa mismong music kaya masasabi namin na very BGYO itong new album,” JL said.

“Patintero” was composed by Julius James “Jumbo” De Belen and John Michael Conchada and produced by FlipMusic’s Bojam. It will be released under ABS-CBN’s Star Music label.

Ahead of the release of their single, the group dubbed as “Aces of P-pop” celebrated their third anniversary with a thanksgiving event called “BONFIR3” held last Saturday (January 27) at Teatrino Promenade.

The search is on for the most talented young singers to showcase their vocal prowess in the country as "Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids" returned for its second season last Monday (January 29).

Each day, three kiddie hopefuls will compete to become the daily winner and will have the chance to join Jhon Talili as the next grand champion of "Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids."

On its first episode, Ihron from Southern Leyte won the hearts of judges Roselle Nava, Jason Dy, and Elha Nympha as he received a combined average score of 96.7%.

Meanwhile, viewers also tuned in to the special episode of "EXpecially For You" as it featured the story of its own staff, its first LGBTQIA+ couple.
