TV5 Spreads Christmas Cheer with ‘Sama-Samang Tinig ng Pasko’ Barangay Chorale Showdown

True to its tradition as the first broadcast station to herald the Yuletide Season in the country, TV5 levels up its Christmas campaign this November with the Metro-wide "Sama-Samang Tinig ng Pasko" chorale competition to be held in a series of barangay showdowns in Manila, Valenzuela, Quezon City, and Marikina.

TV5 has stood by its thrust of being the catalyst for people to come together and the launch of this Barangay Chorale Showdown has brought out the idea of “Iba ang Saya, Pag Sama Sama” beyond a catchy phrase on paper. Now that the holidays are fast approaching, TV5 culminates this merry season by offering these communities a chance to spread the love and joy with their friends, family, and loved ones through this traditional competition that signifies how this Christmas is better celebrated together.

The public is invited to what promises to be a trade fair-like event featuring some of Metro Manila’s finest chorale groups in competition for the Grand Prize of P300,000. The contest finale will be held at Ayala Malls Feliz on December 17, 2022 with some of TV5’s stars and talents in attendance. The winning chorale group will also be performing live at one of the scheduled games of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Ten groups will be competing at each site – beginning on November 19 in a barangay in Manila, November 20 in Valenzuela City, November 26 in Quezon City, and November 27 in Marikina City. Two winners will be selected in each of the barangay legs of the chorale competition. Judges will come from the local government officials (LGU) and celebrity guests. A guest judge will also be performing to delight the home crowd and honor all chorale participants.

The five-leg competition will culminate at the Grand Finals at Ayala Malls Feliz on December 17 with a finale sing-out among the top eight winners from the four barangay contests held earlier. The top 3 winning groups will receive P300,000 plus PBA singing appearance for the 1st Prize; P150,000 for the 2nd Prize; and P100,000 for 3rd Prize. All the other finalists get P10,000 each.

The chorale competition is a partnership of TV5 with Joy Expert Dishwashing Liquid. Special thanks to Sting, Milkita Lollipops & Candy, Flanax, Paracetamol Tempra, Alaska, Eden, Dr. S. Wong's Sulfur Soap, C2, Knorr, and to Ayala Malls Feliz, as the official venue partner for the Grand Finals.

"Sama-Samang Tinig ng Pasko" is one among the September–December tentpole activities for the 2022 Christmas Campaign created by the Kapatid Network to sustain the festivities and brand presence for TV5. In 2021, TV5 owned Christmas by being the first network to celebrate Christmas at the onset of the “Ber Months.” The Christmas theme of this year’s festivities is centered on TV5’s core thematic message of “Iba’ng saya Pag Sama-Sama!”

Finally! DonBelle Holds First Meet and Greet with Fans in the Philippines

Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano have finally met together with few and lucky endearing fans in the country at the #CloserWithDonBelle Meet & Greet event organized by oral care brand closeup last October 26 at the Tablo Kitchen X Café in Quezon City.

In June, closeup launched the loveteam as the brand’s freshest ambassadors in a Facebook watch party for the premiere of the music video of Closer, Belle’s latest music video as a recording artist. Donny and Belle had their first meet and greet with fans in New York City last August 2022, during their Beyond the Stars US concert tour with other Star Magic talents but this is their first meet and greet with fans in the Philippines.

During the event, everyone couldn’t help but feel butterflies as the on-screen couple spiritedly participated in games where they, together with fans, guessed missing lyrics from Belle’s song Closer, figure out which one of them posted random and playful tweets, and lastly identified surprise items in a mystery box.

Fans were treated to a group interaction with Donny and Belle for the first time following their record-breaking series He’s Into Her which launched the two artists into the limelight.

Asked how they feel about being closeup’s freshest ambassadors, both stars answered with enthusiasm. “Of course, we’re very much grateful especially because we got to do it together. From the first shoot of the music video, it was already so fun to do, remember?” says Donny before turning to Belle. “When I first heard the song, na-LSS na ako agad plus I get to sing it! So yes, we’re very thankful to closeup.”

The exclusive event welcomed 10 lucky winners from a closeup promo launched last July which encouraged fans to purchase closeup products from Unilever’s Lazada online store. One fan even shared that she came all the way from Tuguegarao just to see her favorite loveteam.

Closeup Philippines Brand Manager Abby Pel also shared how grateful they are for having both DonBelle and their fans’ support when they initially launched the two as the new brand ambassadors. "We hope you enjoyed this night as you got #CloserWithDonBelle! Please continue supporting closeup so you can help fight bacteria breath for all-day freshness!

To be part of this new family and their latest campaign to fight bacteria breath - of course oral hygiene is super important,” continues Donny. “Given our line of work, it’s very important for us to remain fresh.

The love team also teased what’s coming for them as Donny announces the trailer premiere of their new movie. “I hope everyone is excited as the trailer is about to be released on October 28,” Donny shares. “We haven’t actually watched anything or any scenes yet so it will be a first for all of us to witness this.”

Finally, Donny expresses further appreciation for their fans’ support and emphasizes why seeing them in real life is incomparable to anything. “Your support is very much appreciated and seeing you guys in real life - there’s nothing like it. And of course, thank you to closeup for having us because we also really want to see everyone,” which Belle agrees with. “[Yes,] this moment is really special for the both of us.”

Want to see what you missed during the #CloserWithDonBelle Meet & Greet? Follow closeup on Facebook and Instagram and see the video coverage of the event plus more updates and information on how to help fight bacteria breath and get all-day freshness.

Jang Uk then fights against the destiny he was born into and gains new powers. Returning 3 years after coming back to life, Jang Uk is a completely changed person. We’re definitely intrigued to see a new side of Jang Uk soon.

The Return of Naksu

Naksu (Go Youn-jung) was a powerful sorceress and assassin before ending up in the body of a blind woman named Mu-deok. From having murderous intentions to experiencing love, Naksu changes drastically. However, she becomes unable to control her situation and everything shifts. Now a mysterious woman with Naksu’s appearance has emerged. There’s much to be unraveled with this new development.

The Friendships

Alchemy of Souls is such a satisfying blend of everything from magic, action, comedy, and friendship. All of the different friendships truly shine! And we can’t forget Mu-deok’s friendships with the boys as well. Will their friendships stay the same or change?

The Romance

Of course, you can’t leave out the romance. In addition to Jang Uk and Naksu’s compelling love, we have many relationships to root for. Have Park Dang-gu and Jin Cho-yeon (Arin)’s lovely plans changed? How about Park Jin (Yu Jun-sang) and Maid Kim (Oh Na-ra)? Will some of the single men find new love interests? We’re intensely invested in seeing some happy couples.

The Fate of Everything

Alchemy of Souls has delighted us with an intricately woven plot with a deeply rich storyline and engaging characters. With the epic story set to wrap up, the fate of the fantastical world of Daeho and all its characters remains the biggest question. What will happen to this majestic realm we’ve thoroughly fallen in love with? Only time will tell when the story continues on December 10!

Up-And-Coming OPM Act 'Ode To Mars' Will Make Your Day A Whole Lot Better With Debut Single “O’ Sinta”

For decades, Universal Records Philippines is unquestionably a firm believer of burgeoning local talents. And this late 2022, the major record label is now set to introduce another very promising act that’s certified Tatak Pinoy.

Meet Ode To Mars!

Ode To Mars is a brainchild of budding musicians Odilon Reyes and Martin Patrick Tan. The duo sees themselves making music that will resonate with people's souls, as their sonic exploration roots around in various local pop-rock and alternative artists and hitmakers, especially from the 90’s and early to mid-2000s - like Parokya Ni Edgar.

Speaking of which, Martin is the son of Parokya Ni Edgar’s former long-time manager Richard Tan, the brains behind several well-known OPM bands in the country. Aside from PNE, the legend has handled Kamikazee, Moonstar 88, Chicosci, among many others.

Combining the power of their sheer talent and commitment towards an ideal and inclusive brand of music and persona, Ode To Mars is ready to present their debut original single “O’ Sinta”. (LISTEN HERE)

This track can be aptly described as a sweet modern-day serenade and has very relatable lyrics at the same time. Likewise, its melody is not complex, making it an undeniably and generally appealing OPM love song. Ito Rapadas spearheaded the production of this track.

“O’ Sinta” is part of the latest Fresh Finds Philippines playlist on Spotify and is out now on your favorite digital streaming platforms. Stay tuned for more from Ode To Mars coming soon!

Universal Records Philippines Forges Partnership with SHOW Korea To Further Strengthen The P-Pop Scene

Amid massive demand, popularity, and influence of Pinoy Pop or P-Pop right now in the landscape of the Philippine music scene, the home of the finest Original Pilipino Music (OPM), Universal Records Philippines along with SHOW Co., Ltd. have agreed to form a strategic partnership to further strengthen its hype and exposure here in the country.

It also aims to normalize giving the best possible talent and entertainment in today’s mainstream local and even international scenes, followers and supporters of P-Pop while contributing in promoting the one-of-kind Filipino culture and artistry as well.

Present at the contract signing ceremony were Universal Records Operations Manager Peter Chan, Managing Director Kathleen Dy-Go, along with ShowBT Korea, SHOW Korea, and SBTown Philippines CEO & President Geong Seong-Han, also known as Tatang Robin, with Ethan Yang, and Adie Hong.

It’s not a secret that Universal Records has been the major record label which can be called the pioneer in promoting and supporting the rise of K-Pop music here in the country since the mid-late 2000s. From selling CDs and spearheading shows, the label had been there and done that. And right now, it tries to remain at the forefront of innovative promotion of these kinds of music, as well as bridging the gap between different cultures.

UR’s Kathleen Dy-Go believes that there are a lot of talented individuals here in the Philippines who can be “idol material” and it is high time for these people to be exposed to high quality and intensive training, while acquiring the commendable discipline that Korean agencies instill in their trainees.

It’s such a great honor for the label to acquire a partnership of this caliber. We promise that we’ll work very hard for the potential groups that we will be launching along with SHOW Korea and SBTown Philippines and of course, we have a lot of surprises in store for all of the P-Pop fans out there,” she says.

For the beloved Tatang Robin, it’s finally the right time for SHOW Korea, SBTown Philippines and UR to make this partnership happen so he approached the label first this time around. Both easily agreed to have an immediate meeting since both parties are interested and share the same vision.

I want to express my gratitude to Universal Records because it did not take long for the label to agree to this amazing partnership. It was quick,” he shares.

As a great CEO himself, Tatang Robin has an exemplary experience in creating a really great boy group, evident in his dedication in training and debuting SB19, who's perhaps the most popular P-Pop group right now. So now it’s a new challenge for him to create an ultimate P-Pop girl group that will be idolized by many P-Pop and K-pop supporters. Although he’s nervous, he’s optimistic that SHOW Korea and SBTown Philippines can pull it off, of course, with the aid of UR.

He explains, “I believe that it’s the girls’ era this time around here in the Philippine market. As you all know, the most famous groups in South Korea right now are girl groups. It’s just very common here in this world that there’s really an order for everything. So, I think this time is already the right time for the girl groups to be at the top. I hope that this girl group that we’re going to debut is the first to be nominated internationally, like in Billboard.

If only fans give their love and support just like they did before in SB19, I believe that it’s also possible. Most of the talents we have, they have been training for up to four years. The shortest is one year and seven months. And as you all know I don’t debut talents who are not yet ready,” he adds.

Looks like the fans are in for a treat in the coming weeks and months because of this exciting partnership.

Masaya Studio Inc., Director HJCP, and Actor Buboy Villar Pay Homage to a Nurse' Pandemic Journey in “Ang Kwento Ni Makoy”

Embark on an emotional rollercoaster ride as former child star-turned-comedian Buboy Villar stars in “Ang Kwento ni Makoy,” a film directed by Direk HJCP and produced by Masaya Studio Inc.

Opening in cinemas nationwide on December 7, 2022, “Ang Kwento ni Makoy” highlights the story of an optimistic and compassionate nurse who is eager to lend a helping hand despite the struggles brought by the surge of the coronavirus.

Shot during the surge of the pandemic, the film comes from the point of view of a writer diagnosed with COVID-19, Ched Herrera (portrayed by Bella Thompson), who meets the outgoing Makoy (Buboy Villar), her father’s requested private nurse. Ched and Makoy eventually become friends, but they have different perspectives in life. Ched believes that “one needs to put oneself first more than anyone,” which greatly contrasts with Makoy who has lived his whole life in service of others. With their clashing opinions, Makoy is determined to change Ched’s perspective before she leaves the hospital. Will he be able to change her mind or would it all be in vain?

The pandemic had a huge impact on our lives. During the lockdown, everyone was looking for that beacon of hope to continue moving forward. The main character, Makoy, embodies that and, through him, we are reassured that no matter what trials we live through, everything will eventually fall into place,” director HJCP shared.

Witness a different side of Buboy Villar in his latest comedy-drama, “Ang Kwento ni Makoy,” opening in cinemas nationwide this December 7.

Chef-Approved Tips You Can Learn from the ‘Eats Robina Farms’ Cooking Show feat. Chef Lau Laudico and Chef Jac Laudico

If you’ve ever dined at Guevarra’s by Chef Laudico, Patisserie Filipino by Chef Jac Laudico, OK Cafe, or Bistro by Chef Laudico, you may be wondering what secrets owners Rolando “Lau” and Jacqui “Jac” Laudico have up their sleeves to create their mouth-watering recipes.

Well, here’s your chance to learn and recreate them! On their new cooking show, “Eats Robina Farms,” the power couple collaborates with Robina Farms to teach families how to make these unique recipes, as well as their tried-and-tested cooking hacks!

Kickstarting the series is a delicious recipe you can whip up for the holidays: crunchy pork menudo! Check out some of the cooking hacks the two chefs have shared on the show:

Tip 1: Do the ‘smashing’ technique to mince garlic faster

Crush the garlic cloves with your knife and pile them on top of each other. Place the knife over the cloves, holding the middle part of the blunt edge with your other hand. Then do a rocking motion over the garlic cloves to mince them.

Tip 2: When slicing vegetables, use your knuckles to guide your knife

If you’re right-handed, grip the vegetable with your left hand. Make sure your fingers are curled so that your knuckles can form the “wall” that will guide your knife.

Tip 3: Make fried food extra crispy by double frying

The secret to making the Laudicos’ crispy pork menudo or any fried food extra crispy and crunchy is to fry it twice. Also, fry in small batches so your food is cooked evenly.

Tip 4: Use high-quality, pre-cut meats

It all starts with the ingredients - even the best chef will have a hard time making good food if their ingredients aren’t quality. That’s why Chefs Lau and Jac recommend using high-quality meats like Robina Farms Pork Menudo Cut. Even better, the meat is pre-cut so you’re also able to shorten your prep time!

Tip 5: Garnish with fresh herbs

Herbs add a positive visual element to your food while complementing the taste of your dish. For the finishing touch to the crispy pork menudo, the chefs sprinkled fresh tarragon taken right from their home’s window garden!

Try your hand at making Chefs Lau and Jac’s crispy pork menudo for the holidays! And if you’re interested in whipping up more delicious recipes, watch the second episode of “Eats Robina Farms,” wherein the two cook up something creamy, cheesy, and bacon-ey that your kids will love!

5 Title Contenders to Watch Out For in FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar Available on SKY Pay-Per-View

The World Cup fever is upon us, and SKY is bringing all the action from the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar live on SKY Pay-Per-View via WCTV.

With 32 nations worldwide vying for the coveted cup trophy, only one will prevail and take all the glory to their motherland.

Before jumping into the exciting action and drama on the pitch, here are some of the teams that can win it all and to watch out for in the latest edition of the World Cup:

1) The defending champions France

Undoubtedly, France re-enters the World Cup scene as one of the favorites to win it all and go for a rare back-to-back feat in the quadrennial tournament, headlined by 2022 Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema and next-generation superstar Kylian Mbappe.

The challenge now for France in their hopes for the title is the slew of injuries to their core players, heading in without the key players instrumental to their previous championship run, including N'Golo Kante, Paul Pogba, and Presnel Kimpembe.

2) The stacked Brazilian squad

Never count out the winningest nation in World Cup history, Brazil. Now hungrier than ever, their squad features an array of world-class players currently in tip-top form.

Arguably one of the best line-ups they've showcased in the grandest stage of the sport, the team comprises all-star names, from vicious attackers up front in Neymar Jr., Vinicius Jr., Richarlison, and Gabriel Jesus; seasoned veterans Thiago Silva, Casemiro, Allison Becker, and Dani Alves; to promising talents Rodrygo and Gabriel Martinelli.

3) South America winners, Argentina

Argentina, the two-time World Cup-winning nation, continues to be favored to make a deep run in the competition—especially coming in as the Copa America champions and previously beating Euro 2020 victors Italy in their Finalissima match-up.

Still led by one of the greatest to ever grace the sport, Lionel Messi, he has his sights fixed anew on the elusive World Cup to add to his stacked trophy cabinet throughout his illustrious career. Helping him along the way to capture the gold are Angel Di Maria, Lisandro Martinez, Emi Martinez, Paulo Dybala, and Lautaro Martinez.

4) 2018 runners-up Croatia

From doubters to believers, many fans are still astounded by Croatia's historic run in the 2018 World Cup, with odds stacked against their favor to win the coveted gold. But with Luka Modric's string of world-class performances, which won him the tournament's best player distinction and the 2018 Ballon d'Or, Croatia managed to book a ticket to their first-ever finals appearance. Although they ended up short against France, they won the hearts of football fans worldwide for their heroics on the grand stage.

They may enter as one of the tournament's eyed underdogs this year, but the spirits are high for Croatia, headlined by Modric, Ivan Perisic, Mateo Kovacic, Marcelo Brozovic, and co., as they continue to convince the world of their capabilities as a unit.

5) World's number two Belgium

With more nations also favored to win the cup, including England, Germany, Netherlands, and Spain, another European heavyweight stands out as a top title contender—the second-world-ranked Belgium squad.

Despite their high FIFA ranking, the concern for the Belgians as of late is their inconsistent form, previously losing two-consecutive times against a resilient Dutch squad during the international break. But with their world-class depth, led by their midfield maestro Kevin de Bruyne with goal-seekers Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku, plus Europe's top goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, they may turn the odds to win it all.

Which of these squads can make a run for the gold? It's up to the world to find out, as SKYcable subscribers can catch all the action in the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 via WCTV, available on SKY Pay-Per-View.

Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz to Share their Love Journey in "JulieVerse" Concert this November 26

Enter a universe that celebrates life, love, and music as Asia's Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose and Total Heartthrob Rayver Cruz captivate fans in their much-awaited concert, JulieVerse, live at the Newport Performing Arts Theater this November 26.

Julie and Rayver are excited to spread 'kilig' on the concert stage and they have been preparing for the special performances for their fans. As soon as it was announced, JulieVer's supporters were quick to show their support, with the Premium and Bronze categories already sold out.

“I am overwhelmed by the warm reception of fans to JulieVerse. Rayver and I cannot wait to share our universe with you, mga Kapuso. See you on November 26,” says Julie Anne.

Prepare to get kilig with the special numbers we have in store for you, guys,” shares Rayver. “We hope we can all get inspired this November 26 via JulieVerse.

JulieVerse is produced by GMA Synergy - the same team behind the 2022 New York Festivals TV and Film Awards Silver Medalist “Limitless: A Musical Trilogy.” The three-part musical special featured Julie's musical journey set against the picturesque background of Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon.

It was on the second installment, 'Limitless: Heal,' that Rayver was featured as one of Julie's guests. Rayver accompanied Julie as she explored the mysterious beauty of Siquijor. In the last part of Limitless, 'Rise,' Rayver sang a duet with Julie and revealed that it was her who inspired him to share his talent in playing the guitar to a bigger audience.

Since then, fans have been clamoring for a concert featuring the two Kapuso artists. The two powerhouse performers have been fan favorites since they were paired up in Studio 7, The Clash, and All-Out Sundays. Their TikTok collaborations are also a hit among netizens.

In 2021, GMA Synergy took a leap of faith, and amidst the challenges of the global pandemic, conceptualized and produced a unique masterpiece called “Limitless: A Musical Trilogy' that showcased not only Julie Anne's limitless talents but the Philippines' overflowing beauty as well. This year, we at GMA Synergy continue to innovate and find ways to create new projects that our Kapuso can relate to. And this November 26, we proudly present another original concept via 'JulieVerse' which we offer to everyone - from JulieVer shippers to fans of great music and live concerts. Expect another world-class performance from two of GMA Network's most-prized artists: Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz,” says First Vice President and Head of GMA Regional TV and Synergy and Acting Head of GMA Integrated News Oliver Victor Amoroso.

Coming from the success of the Limitless Trilogy, there was a great clamor for the next project. It was not at all difficult to come up with the next one because as with all great narratives, Julie's story continued organically. And this time, we get to continue that story with an artist that truly complemented Julie's talent and personality - Rayver Cruz,” shares First Vice President for Entertainment Group Darling De Jesus-Bodegon. “Since they worked on musical performances together in Studio 7, we instantly saw the undeniable chemistry that they have. And since then, their spark continued to ignite which brings us to this night when we celebrate them as the perfect epitome of 'twin flames.' This is the story of two people na pinagtagpo, at tinadhana. Another truly exciting part of this project is that now, we finally get to share Julie Anne and Rayver's story live on the concert stage. We are excited to share the screams, the gushes, the gasps, the 'kilig' with our audience. We conceptualized this show to give the audience an inclusive experience. We really want them to feel that they are inside the Julieverse,” she adds.

Joining JulieVer as special guests are real-life couple and fellow Sparkle artists Kyline Alcantara and Mavy Legaspi.

JulieVerse is directed by Paolo Valenciano.

MAYA Accelerates "Digi-Palengke" Program in Mindanao

Maya, the country's only all-in-one money app, is transforming Davao City's biggest Bankerohan Public Market with the launch of the Paleng-QR PH initiative in Mindanao today.

Spearheading the "digi-palengke" program is Davao City Government with the support of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). Also supporting the launch are PLDT and Smart Communications.

BSP Governor Felipe Medalla and Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte led the ceremonies held today at the city's Bankerohan Public Market.

"By promoting the interoperable QR PH national standard codes, Paleng-QR PH creates a simple but more powerful digital finance experience at the local community level. At Maya, we fully support Davao City's vision to build a stronger digital ecosystem," said Orlando Vea, Maya CEO and Founder and Maya Bank Co-Founder.

Basta QR PH, pwede kami sa Maya,” Vea added.

The Paleng-QR Ph program aims to digitalize transactions starting with public markets and local transportation. The program enables vendors and tricycle drivers to accept digital payments from customers regardless of their e-wallet or bank accounts via QR Ph, the national standard for QR payment. Maya's QR codes are QR Ph-compliant, and its app can scan any QR Ph-powered transaction.

Creating digi-palengkes is part of Maya’s own LGUs Embracing and Accelerating Digitalization (L.E.A.D). Through this program, Maya equips local governments like Davao City with business-in-a-box payment acceptance solutions and disbursement tools to enable faster public service delivery.

Maya is the first digital financial services platform to adopt QR Ph. More than 52 million users can enjoy a seamless experience using Maya's consumer platforms that can send and accept P2P payments from other QR Ph-participating financial institutions.

Meanwhile, non-Maya users can pay at over 800,000 QR Ph-enabled Maya merchants, which are present in 96% of the total cities and municipalities.

The BSP's OR Ph initiative is part of the overall financial services transformation roadmap of the Philippines. It aims to raise Filipinos' trust in digital financial services, as consumers and enterprises will get used to sending and receiving cashless payments for everyday transactions.

Maya's full support to QR PH is in line with the BSP's thrust to increase the share of Filipino adults with a financial account from 56% in 2021 to 70% in 2023 and grow the volume of digital payments from 20% in 2021 to 50% by next year.

"Digital payment is the entry point of Filipinos to the financial system. As they build their financial footprint, consumers and MSMEs can access more progressive digital banking services offered by Maya," said Vea.

Maya has made it easier for consumers to spend, save, get credit, and invest in crypto just by using its top-rated all-in-one money app. Its merchant partners, meanwhile, can open a business deposit account and access revolving credit lines leveraging their payment transactions.

Cannibal Love Story “Bones And All” Receives R-16 Rating, Now Showing with No Cuts in PH Cinemas

After playing to sold-out capacity crowds during the QCinema Film Festival, the controversial film "Bones and All" -- a story of tender love and cannibalism -- will finally open nationwide November 23 with a favorable R-16 rating from the Movie & Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

The MTRCB explained in its decision that "the film contains graphic but non-gratuitous depiction of violence and gore, themes of cannibalism, that may not be suitable for children below sixteen (16) years of age."

In the US, "Bones and All" also received an R rating from the Motion Pictures Association of America (MPAA) "for strong, bloody and disturbing violent content, language throughout, some sexual content and brief graphic nudity."

The New York Times has described the film as "Gory, ridiculous and curiously touching," while the Los Angeles Times found it "unsettling and heartbreaking in equal measure."

"Bones and All" is "difficult to watch, but looking away is harder still," says The New Yorker, as Bloody Disgusting raved that "It's as elegant as carnal and carnivorous, and it'll take a bite out of your heart if you let it."

From Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures comes "Bones and All," a movie about love, directed by Luca Guadagnino ("Call Me by Your Name"), who recently won the Silver Lion for Best Director at the 2022 Venice Film Festival for the film.

"Bones and All" is a story of first love between Maren (Taylor Russell), a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee (Timothée Chalamet), an intense and disenfranchised drifter… as they meet and join together for a thousand-mile odyssey which takes them through the back roads, hidden passages and trap doors of Ronald Reagan's America. But despite their best efforts, all roads lead back to their terrifying pasts and to a final stand that will determine whether their love can survive their otherness.

"Bones and All" stars Taylor Russell ("Waves," "The Heart Still Hums,"), who won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at this year's Venice Film Festival; Timothée Chalamet (Oscar-nominated for "Call Me by Your Name," "Dune"); Michael Stuhlbarg ("Call Me by Your Name," "The Shape of Water"); André Holland ("Passing," "Moonlight"); Chloë Sevigny ("We Are Who We Are," "American Horror Story"); David Gordon Green ("Halloween Ends," "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent"); Jessica Harper ("Suspiria," "Minority Report"); Jake Horowitz ("Adam Bloom," "The Vast of Night"); and Mark Rylance (Oscar winner for "Bridge of Spies," "Wolf Hall").

The screenplay is by David Kajganich ("Suspiria," "A Bigger Splash"), based on the novel by Camille DeAngelis.

In cinemas across the Philippines starting November 23, "Bones and All" is distributed in the Philippines by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Discovery company.
