First dibs on 5G with new Signature 5G Plans
Smart welcomed the much-anticipated iPhone 12 by unveiling the new Signature 5G Plans, which are specially designed with generous data allocations to unlock the capabilities of Smart 5G’s superfast speeds, ultra-low latency, and higher efficiency.
By just adding P300 per month, subscribers can get two times more data with Signature 5G Plans versus the regular Signature Plan L and XL. Signature 5G Plan L is available at P2,299 per month and comes with monthly 30GB data, Unli AllNet Calls and Texts, and 150 mins PLDT Calls. Those who are looking for more data can get Signature 5G Plan XL at P3,299 per month, which comes with monthly 60GB data, Unli AllNet Calls and Texts, and 300 mins PLDT Calls.
All Signature 5G Plans come with Data Rollover, which means all unused data allocation from the previous month will be carried over to the following month.
With bigger data allocations, subscribers can simply make the most of superfast Smart 5G: downloading a 20-minute episode from Netflix in seconds, streaming high-resolution videos without buffering, or playing high-bandwidth mobile games without delay.
“Our 5G future is here, and we’re enabling our subscribers to embrace this new platform with our Signature 5G Plans, which make it so much simpler to maximize the superior features of the new iPhone 12,” said Jane J. Basas, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart.
“On top of this, Smart Signature lets you take full control of your mobile lifestyle and gives you rewarding experiences via the GigaLife App so you can just focus on slaying your goals in your career or passion,” Basas added.
Available on the Apple App Store, the GigaLife App enables subscribers to track their usage, add data boosters, or conveniently pay their monthly bill with just a few taps on their smartphone. The app also features GigaPoints, which lets users earn and accumulate points that may be exchanged for data perks and, very soon, exclusive treats lifestyle partners.

iPhone 12 Midnight Surprise
Smart launched the iPhone 12 on Signature 5G Plans with a 360 midnight event aptly themed, ‘First to the Future.’ Streamed on Smart’s Facebook page, the event enabled viewers to pan around or tilt their screen for an immersive entertainment experience with Arts and Lights Play, and original beats by creative music producers CRWN, BP Valenzuela, and Lustbass.
Lucky Smart subscribers also snagged Apple gadgets and accessories while counting down the minutes to the official arrival of the iPhone 12 in the country.
When the clock struck 12, Smart pulled off a surprise iPhone 12 delivery to goal-slayers who have made their mark in different fields and passions, including OPM icon Rico Blanco; lifestyle and fashion host Marie Lozano; content creator Wil Dasovich; beauty queen and host Laura Lehmann; and lifestyle vlogger and doctor Kara Gozali.

Leader in 5G
Smart is at the forefront of the 5G revolution in the Philippines with the continued nationwide roll-out of its ultrafast 5G network, which includes strategic sites in Metro Manila, Boracay, Cavite, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Laguna, New Clark City in Pampanga, and Rizal.
Just recently, Smart showcased the power of 5G and iPhone 12 with Acces5Granted, a groundbreaking 5G-powered 360 multi-venue concert.
Shot entirely using iPhone 12 and streamed on 5g.Smart and Smart YouTube channel, the concert brought together top musical acts including UDD, She’s Only Sixteen, Brigada, DJ Aryan Magat, and Michael Pacquiao, who performed from two stages – one in Intramuros, Manila, and the other in Boracay Island in Aklan.
Though hundreds of kilometers apart, Acces5Granted showed the artists collaborating and interacting with their peers seamlessly, made possible by Smart 5G. The 360 format of the concert also enabled viewers to immerse in the performances and the two venues.
Philippines’ fastest mobile data network
The iPhone 12 is also compatible with Smart LTE, which has consistently been recognized as the fastest mobile data network in the Philippines by third-party mobile internet analytics firms such as Ookla and Opensignal.
Ookla, the global leader in internet testing and analysis, recently named Smart LTE as the country’s fastest mobile data network in the first half of 2020 after it achieved a Speed Score™ of 18.33, with average speeds of 15.94 Mbps for download and 7.57 Mbps for upload, based on 2,810,963 user-initiated tests taken with Speedtest®
On the other hand, Opensignal, an independent mobile analytics firm, reported in its November 2020 Mobile Network Experience Report for the Philippines that Smart remained ahead of the competition in terms of Video Experience, Upload and Download Speed Experience, 4G Availability, and 4G Coverage Experience.
