GMA Network to Air “The Clash Christmas Special: Pasko Para sa Lahat!” on December 25

Amidst a challenging year, the holiday season has a way of reminding us that there are still many reasons to be happy and inspired. 

This Christmas, GMA Network's all original singing competition, The Clash, brings together former Clashers, Hosts, and The Clash Panel together for a night filled with spectacular musical numbers in “The Clash Christmas Special: Pasko Para sa Lahat!” 

Inspirational songs of resilience and hope will be told through timeless songs by Clash Masters Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz; Journey Hosts Rita Daniela and Ken Chan; The Clash Panel composed of Original Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, and Comedy Concert Queen Aiai delas Alas; and Grand Champions Golden Canedo, Jeremiah Tiangco, and Jessica Villarubin. 

After a two-month absence from the program, The Clash Panel and Asia's Nightingale Lani Misalucha returns to tell her story and her continuing struggle to get back on her feet. She will also give a heartfelt rendition of a Christmas classic. 

Like the “trending queen” that she is, judge Aiai will surely amp up the fun with yet another performance of one of international K-pop group BLACKPINK's hit songs. 

Julie and Rayver, together with Rita and Ken, are bound to make viewers swoon with a sweet serenade featuring a romantic Christmas song. Finalists from Seasons 1 to 3 will also take part in the celebration with special numbers while messages of thanksgiving and hope will be shared by the biggest stars of the network.

3. “Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last na ‘To)” 

What was supposed to be the final film for the “Ang Tanging Ina” installment highlights the bond and happiness of a family, especially for Ina (Ai-Ai delas Alas) who is a single mother to 12 children. The Comedy Queen brings the same fun and energy to this story, where she learns how to cherish her time with her kids after her doctor tells her she only has eight months left to live. 

4. “Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay” 

Do you believe in Pinoy superstitions, or are you dismissive of them? In this horror movie starring Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Shaina Magdayao, and Paulo Avelino, a group of friends has to face the consequences of eschewing “pagpag” before going home after attending a wake. 5. “Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo” 

Three years before Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo tied the knot, they played a young married couple in their first movie together – the riotously funny “Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo.” What happens after the supposed “happily ever after”? 8. “Father Jejemon” 

The King of Comedy Dolphy’s last movie, “Father Jejemon” stresses the importance of community, unity, and kindness. Dolphy plays Father Jeremiah Jerome Montes, an avant-garde priest who replaces a beloved parish priest in a small town, which at first does not welcome him. That starts to change when their church is threatened to be destroyed by a businessman. All of a sudden, everyone has something in common that is worth fighting for. 

9. “Manila Kingpin: The Untold Story of Asiong Salonga" 

In a world where violence is the name of the game and the leader is respected yet feared, only corrupt minds will remain on top. Set in the year 1950, “Manila Kingpin” is a multi-awarded Filipino biographical-crime film which tackles the dark side of love, wealth, politics, and gang wars in the life of Asiong Salonga. The star-studded cast is composed of John Regala, Carla Abellana, Phillip Salvador, Baron Geisler, Dennis Padilla, and E.R Ejercito. 

10. “Bahay ni Lola” 

If your family is looking to get spooked, the haunted house genre is always a good idea. Rattle and scream along to 2001’s “Bahay ni Lola,” where a family chooses to celebrate Christmas at their ancestral home, only to squabble with each other and awaken the demons residing in it. Will their lola be able to save them from evil before it’s too late? 

11. “Aishite Imasu: 1941: Mahal Kita” 

Set in 1941, this romantic war epic finds Inya (Judy Ann Santos) marrying her childhood sweetheart but whose dreams of starting a family is thwarted by the war. Her best friend Igna (Dennis Trillo), a transgender woman, also falls in love with a Japanese soldier – which to her feels like disloyalty to her country. What follows is a marathon of sacrifice, betrayal, and principle that can only be the product of warfare. 

12. “Dalaw” 

What happens when your dead husband comes back to haunt you after you fall in love again? In this movie, Horror Movie Queen Kris Aquino plays Stella, who decides to marry the love of her life years after her husband dies. Things start to go awry in her life after the wedding, and mysterious ghostly hauntings threaten her and her loved ones… which leads Stella to believe that his dead husband may be to blame. 

13. “I Love You, Goodbye” 

Four people figure in a complicated love square in this Laurice Guillen-directed romance drama. While Lizelle (Angelica Panganiban) and Adrian (Gabby Concepcion) are anything but happy in their new relationship, his daughter Ysa (Kim Chiu) is brazen in her display of disgust towards her. But the icing on the cake in this mess? Lizelle starts an affair with her ex-boyfriend Gary (Derek Ramsay), who is Ysa’s current boyfriend. 

14. “Segunda Mano” 

In this Joyce Bernal movie, we get to see Dingdong Dantes in his award-winning role as Ivan, alongside Angelica Panganiban and Kris Aquino. The story sees Ivan having to deal with the haunting of his deceased wife Mariella (Angelica) when Mabel (Kris), his current fiancee, purchases a secondhand bag that once belonged to his former wife. 

15. “The Haunted Mansion” 

What happens when a group of friends toy with supernatural beings while on a retreat in a haunted mansion? The characters of Marlo Mortel, Jerome Ponce, Janice De Belen, and Janella Salvador will have to find out the hard way when the ghosts decide to play along in this 2015 horror film, which received positive reviews and also marked Janella’s debut in a movie.

Sought-after leading lady Sanya Lopez is sure to end the year on a high note as she stars in 'Isa Pang Bahaghari,' alongside a stellar cast top-billed by no less than the Superstar Nora Aunor. In this family drama directed by Joel Lamangan, she breathes life to Nora's youngest child who was forced into prostitution due to poverty. Also starring in the movie is Kapuso heartthrob Dave Bornea. 

Multi-talented actors Martin Del Rosario, EA Guzman, Shaira Diaz, and Luis Hontiveros are set to showcase their acting prowess in 'Coming Home.' Directed by Adolfo Alix Jr., the family drama is centered around a married couple trying to keep their family together with a patriarch estranged as an OFW. His wife finds out he fell in love with another woman abroad and calls it quits. Ten years later, he surprises his family when he comes home one night very sick. 

Completing the list of GMAAC talents participating in this year's MMFF are Kapuso teen stars Miggs Cuaderno, Elijah Alejo, Hailey Mendes, Princess Aguilar, Joshua Eugenio, and Jamir Zabarte who will take viewers on a fantasy-adventure via Christian Acuña's 'Magikland.' Versatile actor and comedian Paolo Contis also plays a special cameo role. The film follows the story of four lonely kids who unexpectedly meet after playing the MagikLand mobile app on Christmas Eve. Not long after, a magical portal opens in their midst through which the children are transported from the real world to the mystical kingdom of MagikLand.

Tongue Monster 

This monster has an extremely long tongue that is retractable. Using its tongue, the monster grabs its victims and sucks out the insides of humans. It appears to have been a patient prior to becoming a monster. 

Eyeball Monster 

This monster has several eyes and can stretch its neck. The monster stalks people within the building and can hold on to them using its long neck.

Meralco Brings Lower Electricity Prices this Holiday Season

Meralco continues to lower power rates toward the end of the year as the overall rate for a typical household decreased by P0.0352/kWh to P8.4753/kWh this December. 

This is equivalent to a decrease of around P7 in the total bill of residential customers consuming 200 kWh. 

This month’s overall rate is also a net rate reduction of P1.3870/kWh, equivalent to bill reduction of more than P277 for a 200-kWh household, since the start of the year. It is also the second lowest overall power rate since September 2017. 

MERALCO continues to serve during GCQ 

Customers may visit their nearest Meralco Business Center, which will keep its doors open during the General Community Quarantine (GCQ), and accept service applications, payments, and other transactions. 

As featured on this month’s Meralco Advisory, Meralco has also made paying the monthly electricity bill even more convenient, as only the Customer Account Number or CAN - which is printed on the bill - is needed during payment. 

Strict safety measures such as the “No Mask, No Entry” rule, Social Distancing, and Temperature Check continue to be implemented. Kapamilya Stars Named as the Most Influential Celebrities in EdukCircle Awards 2020 and Fobes Asia’s 100 Digital Stars 2020

ABS-CBN personalities continue to receive recognition for using their influence and platform for social good as eight Kapamilya stars were recently named by the 10th EdukCircle Awards as Most Influential Celebrities of The Decade. 

Leading the list is “Iba ‘Yan” host Angel Locsin. It can be recalled that Angel led fundraising projects to help the country’s COVID-19 response, as well as relief efforts in successive calamities this year. In her acceptance speech Angel highlighted that everyone has the responsibility to influence one another to do good. 

“I believe we all have the responsibility to influence one another – to do what is right, to lift each other up, to create awareness about important matters, and to use our voice for the voiceless.” 

EdukCircle also named “It’s Showtime” host Anne Curtis and actress Bea Alonzo who both promised to continue setting good examples for the public, especially the youth.

Inigo Pascual and Moophs’ Collab Song “Always” Make it to Apple Music's “The 100 Best Songs of 2020”

Inigo Pascual and Moophs’ recent collaboration, the dancehall-afrobeat pop track “Always,” made it to Apple Music’s yearly roundup of global top music releases dubbed “The 100 Best Songs of 2020 Playlist.” 

This year’s theme is “music of all styles and perspectives bringing us closer together when many of us are forced apart.” Aside from “Always,” the list includes songs from Dua Lipa to Ariana Grande to Justin Bieber and some of the world’s huge pop acts. 

“Dancehall meets Afrobeat put lovers’ heartbeat in sync,” cited Apple Music editors on “Always,” a pop song that speaks of convincing a love interest to commitment despite reservations, which is a theme remarkably central to Inigo’s upcoming 2021 full-length album, “Options.” 

“I feel like releasing songs that give you good vibes is important right now with what's happening in the world. It's the perfect way to bring smiles to people, wherever they are and whatever they're going through,” said Inigo about the track. 

Moophs, meanwhile, expressed glee over the streaming platform’s recognition. “I’m honored to be included in Apple Music’s Top 100 roundup for 2020 alongside such amazing artists. Big love to everyone enjoying and supporting the music. I’m really glad what we’ve been doing is starting to reach some ears around the world,” he said. 

The Tarsier Records’ label head produced, composed, and mixed “Always,” with songwriting handled by BTS’ “Black Swan” co-composer Vince Nantes, fellow Tarsier Records artist and OPM pop artist Sam Concepcion, and Inigo himself. 

The single follows the creative crew's hopeful track “RISE” from earlier this year, one of the biggest international releases to ever come out of the country, bringing together artists from the US (Eric Bellinger, Vince Nantes), Malaysia (Zee Avi), and the Philippines (Inigo, Sam, Moophs). 

Inigo and Moophs also made history earlier this month as they released a remix of their 2019 island pop hit, “Catching Feelings,” which nears 10M Spotify plays and has generated over 100K social dance challenge videos. Bonds are investment securities, like stocks, that can be bought or sold in the secondary market. Bonds are basically debts and obligations of companies or governments sold to investors. These companies and/or governments, called bond issuers, pay the investors regular coupon interest payments on the amount invested. Bonds typically pay higher interest than traditional time deposits. The minimum investment depends on the terms of the bond you choose.

Bond funds are for clients who have moderate risk profiles and medium-term liquidity needs. These funds have a portfolio duration of more than 1 year. 

Equity Funds are for clients who have aggressive risk profiles. Funds are invested in equities which are highly volatile. The funds aim to provide higher potential returns by investing in a diversified portfolio of equities. 

The minimum investment for EW Peso UITFs is P10,000 except for EW Peso Long-Term Bond Fund whose minimum investment in P50,000.

PBB Connect Housemates Aizyl Tandungon, Justin Dizon, and Mika Pajares are Up for Eviction on December 27

One of Big Brother’s housemates will be packing their bags before New Year’s Eve as “PBB Connect” revealed that housemates Aizyl Tandungon, Justin Dizon, and Mika Pajares are in danger of being ousted from the ‘PBB’ house. 

Aizyl, Justin, and Mika emerged as the nominees for the first eviction night that is slated on December 27 (Sunday) after they got the most number of votes from their fellow housemates. Aizyl received 17 points, followed by Mika with seven (7) points and Justin with four (4) points. 

Just like in previous editions of “PBB,” it is up to the outside world on who they will choose to save. For the first eviction night of “PBB Connect,” viewers can use both their power to save and power to evict via SMS and Kumu. 

To save a housemate via SMS, text BBS NAME OF HOUSEMATE to 2366.

Meanwhile, to evict a housemate, viewers can simply text BBE NAME OF HOUSEMATE TO 2366. 

Only one vote per sim per day is allowed. 

On the other hand, the Kumunity is also given the power to save and evict among the nominated housemates by sending virtual gifts. Users just have to go to “campaigns” and click on the voting page tab. From there, users can pick the offline stream of the housemate that they want to save or evict by sending virtual gifts. Only 10 votes are allowed per day for every Kumu account. 

Meanwhile, Big Brother’s 15th official housemate has already entered the iconic yellow house. Ralph Malibunas, a Filipino based in Paris, France, surprised his fellow housemates inside the house as he dressed up as Santa Claus, based on Big Brother’s orders.
