ABS-CBN Launches Newest Primetime Series "Sigabo" with Coco Martin and Julia Montes

Primetime King Coco Martin made back-to-back major announcements - he will star alongside Julia Montes in ABS-CBN’s newest primetime teleserye “Sigabo,” and the Philippines' most watched teleserye since 2023, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” enters its final three weeks.

While Coco closes a remarkable era with “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” Filipinos can continue to watch him every night in “Sigabo,” his new teleserye with Julia Montes beginning March 16 (Monday).

“Sigabo” promises a mix of action, comedy, and romance that families will surely enjoy.

First time namin magla-light. Pasasayahin naman natin ‘yung mga tahanan gabi-gabi,” Coco announced on “TV Patrol” today (February 20).

He also teased what viewers can expect and said, “Halos lahat ng mga kasama namin mga comedian. Tapos episodic siya, iba-ibang kwento, iba-ibang mission. Para iba-ibang experience every week.

As Coco prepares for “Sigabo,” he also looked back at his memorable “Batang Quiapo” journey where he shared that it was a difficult decision for him to bid goodbye to a teleserye that is beloved by many Filipinos.

Coco also expressed his heartfelt appreciation and invited Filipinos to join Tanggol in his final battle as “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” ramps up its action-packed episodes for its explosive “Ang Huling Laban ni Tanggol” finale.

Salamat po sa tatlong taong pagsuporta at pagmamahal ninyo sa ‘Batang Quiapo.’ Nagiging emotional ako kasi hirap na hirap talaga kami. Sobrang hirap talaga ng paggawa ng ‘Batang Quiapo.’ Hindi lang ang pagbuo, kundi ‘yung pag-arte. All aspects of the crew, directors, at production,” he shared.

Sana po samahan niyo kami, pinapangako po namin sa inyo na sa loob ng tatlong taon, itong tatlong linggong ito ay isa ito sa hindi niyo malilimutang teleserye na mapapanood ninyo gabi-gabi,” he said.

“FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” made a mark in the hearts of Filipinos all over the country who religiously watched the series on multiple broadcast and online platforms, where viewers also followed the story of Tanggol when the series’ launched on ALLTV2 last January.

It has also flooded social media with its viral scenes and iconic lines, and it has also broken its own online viewership record multiple times - breaching an all-time high record of over one million concurrent viewers on YouTube.

To watch “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” on Kapamilya Channel sa ALLTV2, turn on your digital black box, press the scan button on the remote control, and look for ALLTV2.

Join Tanggol for his final battle in the last three weeks of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” and catch the pilot episode of “Sigabo” starring Coco and Julia this March 16.

CreaZion Studios Brings A24’s Sci-Fi Horror Film ‘Backrooms’ to Philippine Cinemas on June 3

The global phenomenon that captivated a generation, "Backrooms" is coming to the Philippines on June 3, 2026. CreaZion Studios has revealed its release date, an eerie first official poster, and a pulse-pounding teaser.

Produced by genre powerhouse A24 with Chernin Entertainment, Atomic Monster, and 21 Laps, the highly-anticipated science fiction-horror film is the directorial debut of prodigy Kane Parsons, the 20-year-old YouTuber who turned the viral legend into a cinematic nightmare.

Parsons’ web series about secret backrooms garnered nearly 100 million views. The Creepypasta-inspired horror has also been adapted into numerous video games, including on the platforms Steam and Roblox.

Academy Award nominees Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) and Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value, The Worst Person In The World) star in the movie, alongside Mark Duplass (The Morning Show), Finn Bennett (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), Lukita Maxwell (Shrinking), Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap), Chelah Horsdal (Hell on Wheels), and Toby Hargrave (Superman & Lois).

In the teaser, a strange doorway appears in the basement of a furniture showroom, plunging the viewer into a world where time slips and space shifts. The first poster for the film, meanwhile, features a familiar yellowish wallpaper.

People Power 40 Kick-Off Concert: Gritty. Grounded. Inclusive.

Gritty, grounded, and pulsating with energy

These words aptly describe the recent People Power 40 Kick-Off Concert, which successfully bridged generations while remaining firmly connected to the country’s socio-political landscape.

With its innovative, inclusive, and in-your-face approach, pundits say the concert offered a fresh and memorable way to launch the EDSA People Power I commemoration. They also congratulated the organizers - Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG), Kaya Natin!, Senator Bam Aquino, and Mayor Joy Belmonte - for mounting the successful event.

The concert featured a mix of performances by singers, rock bands, rappers, stand-up comedians, a dance group, uniting audiences across generations and sending a strong message against corruption while underscoring the country’s sovereignty.

After a somber opening by acoustic icon Ice Seguerra with his moving rendition of “Bayan Ko,” against the dramatic light show illuminating the Quezon Memorial Circle pylon, the concert burst into high-energy performances, keeping the 20,000-plus crowd on their feet and evoking memories of the 2022 presidential campaign of former Vice President and now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo.

Bringing back memories of the glory days of their father, the late “King of Rap” Francis Magalona, Elmo and Arkin Magalona performed some of his most iconic hits, including “1-800-Ninety-Six,” “Kaleidoscope World,” and the crowd-favorite “Ito Ang Gusto Ko.”

Hip-hop group Morobeats delivered an expletive-laden, fiery performance, firing up the crowd while sending bold messages against government corruption and China’s harassment of Filipino vessels in the West Philippine Sea.

The audience also enjoyed a mix of musical genres that spanned generations, with performances by Ebe Dancel, Over October, Earl Agustin, and Rivermaya -- creating an experience that resonated with Filipinos of all ages.

Nica Del Rosario, composer of the 2022 campaign anthem “Rosas,” shone with her performance of “Tala” and her duet with rapper Pio Balbuena for “Kapangyarihan.” Balbuena, for his part, delivered a standout performance, belting out hits such as “44 Bars,” “Republika ng Tambay,” and “Akinse.”

Femme MNL, a collective of LGBTQIA+ dancers, captivated the audience with a high-energy playback Rihanna set, while Chelsea Alley showcased their signature heavy metal rock with powerful hits “We Are,” “Camouflage,” and “Heneral.”

OPM legends Janno Gibbs and Ogie Alcasid brought nostalgia and their trademark showmanship, performing “Pinakamagandang Lalaki” and a duet of “Handog ng Pilipino,” followed by Alcasid’s solo hits “Sige Laglagan Na” and “Nandito Ako.”

In between musical acts, comedians Alex Calleja and Red Ollero had the crowd roaring with laughter, delivering sharp, uncensored takes on current controversies and everyday Filipino life.

In the same way they ignited the stage earlier, the Magalona siblings closed the event with a repeat of their rousing performance of “Ito Ang Gusto Ko”, which will serve as a call to action for current and future Filipinos.

Capping the night was a spectacular 10-minute fireworks display, leaving the crowd buzzing about the concert long after they went home.

Following its successful staging, pundits claim the concert offered a fresh way to remember and honor EDSA People Power I. By blending nostalgia with bold calls to hold corrupt officials accountable, they claimed it was undoubtedly a memorable way to kick off the 40th anniversary of EDSA 1.
