Gloc-9 said that he already wrote different songs on various topics, but releasing a song about religion and spirituality? Not yet. Thus, this song was carefully crafted and was made possible this year.

Joining the veteran hip-hop superstar in this latest endeavor is Skusta Clee and this the second time that these two rap idols have collaborated. Their first pairing was in Skusta Clee's single "Karma" wherein the Gloc-9 wrote the rap part. Its official music video released last November 2021 now has over 27 million views on YouTube and even reached #1 Trending For Music.

An official music video for “Kumpisal” is released alongside the single. The zany visual directed by Kirby Balagtas of YouMeUs MNL was shot inside a church with guest appearances by Shanti Dope, DJ Klumcee and Hellmerry. Kyle Echarri, Markus Paterson, and Moophs Collaborate in R&B Single "Hotel Room"

Kyle Echarri, Markus Paterson, and Moophs have just dropped an R&B collaboration entitled “Hotel Room,” a single about feeling lost, empty, and downcast.

Coupling Markus’ and Kyle’s soulful vocals with a neo-soul vibe from Moophs on production, “Hotel Room” perfectly encapsulates the gloom of coping with being left behind by a loved one.

“I wrote ‘Hotel Room’ about a specific time in my life when I was trapped by vices and surrounded by the wrong crowd. Looking back on it, I’m proud of myself for getting out of that hole and out of it came a pretty alright sounding song,” Markus disclosed. “I think it’s the best time to release this song because I’m a responsible father now, and it’s a reminder of who I was, not who I am now.”

Kyle echoed Markus’ sentiment about the song being personal to him and said he wants to share it because of its relatability. He said, “It’s my first time releasing something that is this personal, and I feel like a lot of people go through these kinds of hard times.”

Meanwhile, song producer Moophs talked about how working with the two actor-singers was a breeze. The Tarsier Records label head said, “Markus wrote a song and sent me a voice note, I produced a beat around it, and Kyle penned a second verse and hopped on the track. Their songwriting chemistry together in the studio is magical.”

One of Tarsier Records’ original class of artists in 2017, Markus has numerous releases under his belt with the label, including his “B-SIDE” EP, which has garnered over 3 million streams on Spotify alone. Kyle, on the other hand, introduced his second full-length album, “New Views,” last year. Moophs has worked with Bugoy Drilon, Inigo Pascual, Russell Reyes, and other artists for various collabs in 2021.

Moira dela Torre Releases New Song "Kumpas," Inspired by the Real-life Love Story of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla

Most streamed Filipina artist Moira dela Torre introduces the heartwarming single “Kumpas,” her comeback into recording that also serves as the official soundtrack of the new ABS-CBN Entertainment series “2 Good 2 Be True.”

The song was inspired not just by the series but also by the real-life love story of lead stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

“Hindi lang ito sa synopsis ng ‘2 Good To Be True’ nakabase but sa documentary ng KathNiel,” revealed Moira at the “2 Good 2 Be True” grand media conference where she first performed the song. “It was really made for KathNiel and ‘2 Good To Be True.’”

ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo handled the production of “Kumpas.”

Released under Star Music, the song talks about someone special being one’s ‘compass’ - her guide when lost, the bright hue in shades of dullness, and her savior amid every storm.

Moira dela Torre’s “Kumpas” is out now on digital streaming platforms.

Talented Singer-Dancer Ken San Jose Joins Universal Records PH Roster of Talents

Universal Records Philippines has officially welcomed the young and talented dance sensation Ken San Jose as part of the growing artist roster.

The singer-dancer was joined by his management, Cornerstone Entertainment Inc.’s Erickson Raymundo and Jeff M. Vadillo during the exclusive contract signing at the Universal Records office with Managing Director Kathleen Dy-Go and Operations Manager Peter Chan.

According to the World Of Dance PH finalist turned star, finally being part of the UR family is a dream come true for him.

“Speechless, definitely. It’s a dream come true. It’s something na I’ve dreamed of ever since I was young, signing a record deal. And to be with such a big company like Universal Records, it’s a blessing from God talaga,” Ken shares. He just turned 20 last April and part of his birthday wish is to explore and grow with the record label.

He adds, “Gusto ko to push harder this year. I want to work hard like never before. I definitely have this burning passion right now for music. I’m just excited to explore and grow with Universal Records.”

When asked about his favorite artists and musical influences, Ken cites that he loves the music of Chris Brown who’s also into dancing, Travis Scott, and Justin Bieber. In addition, he passionately mentioned Skusta Clee as one of his OPM idols.

“It would be pretty dope to collaborate with Skusta Clee one day,” he says. He also shared that he’s into Flow G and fellow UR artist Shanti Dope.

Ken has released four singles since 2019, including his popular songs “Halma” and “Lose Control” and this year, he promised to be more energetic, passionate and artistic when it comes to honing his craft. “I definitely wanna release my first album with UR and I definitely want to explore my artistry whether that’s on hip-hop or RNB,” he happily shares.
