Phivolcs Reports GenSan Hits by 4.1-Magnitude Earthquake

A magnitude-4.1 quake was recorded off General Santos City in Mindanao shortly after midnight Sunday but there was no initial report of damage or casualty.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was tectonic in origin and was recorded at 12:46 a.m. Monday.

In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake's epicenter was traced to 74 km southwest of General Santos City.

However, it did not immediately cite specific areas where the quake was felt.

No damage or aftershock was expected from the predawn quake, Phivolcs said.
