August 7 PAGASA Weather Update

As of today, August 7, there is no tropical cyclone existing within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

However, strong to gale force wind is expected to affect the seaboards of Luzon. Heavy rains is also expected to occur in Metro Manila and the western section of Luzon (Pangasinan, Zambales down south to Batangas and Mindoro including the National Capital Region) and Panay Island due to the southwest monsoon, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Light to moderate rains will continue to be experienced over the rest of Luzon. Meanwhile, a shallow low pressure area was estimated at about 920 km East of Northern Luzon (17.5°N 130.5°E).

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
