97 years since the Philippines' entry at the Olympics, it finally secured a gold medal after Olympic veteran Hidilyn Diaz lifted a combined 224kg - an Olympic record - in the women's 55kg division in Tokyo, Japan on July 26, Monday.
Aside from the priceless gold medal, Hidilyn is also set to receive plenty of incentives both from the government and the private sector including the P10 million from the Philippine government as outlined by Republic Act 10699.
The MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) will also give her an additional P10 million.
Businessman Ramon S. Ang and Congressman Mikee Romero also promised an additional P10 million each.
According to Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Rep. Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino, Hidilyn will also receive a house and lot in Tagaytay aside from the 14-million worth residential condominium unit in Eastwood City courtesy of Megaworld Corp.
