1.    “Babalik Ka Pa Kaya” by Reiven Umali

 

Fresh from his feat as the “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” Year 5 grand winner, Reiven Umali is ready to showcase what he’s got in the ballad “Babalik Pa Kaya,” his very first single released under Star Music. The classic OPM song originally popularized by Wiseguys and now given a new rendition is dedicated to all the people who are still longing for their loved ones to come back and give love another try.

 

2.    “Gone Too Soon” by Cool Cat Ash

 

“Gone Too Soon” is meant to be an open letter to all our loved ones who have passed. Released under Star Music, it’s Cool Cat Ash’s own message of closure she had for her departed loved ones, which she hopes will also be a song of comfort for everyone who is experiencing grief during this painful time.

 

3.     “Pagbigyang Muli” by Antenorcruz

Antenorcruz has given a new life to “Pagbigyang Muli,” a song originally performed by Erik Santos. The reimagined version was first heard as a theme song of a Boy Abunda Originals short film of the same title, which received great feedback and led to the release of this track co-produced by Boy Abunda with Star Music.

 

4.    “K1N5E” album by Six Part Invention

 

Six Part Invention is celebrating its 15^th year in the business with a new album called “K1N5E.” This anniversary offering features new songs and feels but retains the original pop-rock/ ballad flavor the band is known for. It includes six tracks: “Ibulong Mo Na Sa Hangin,” “Hanggang Dito Lang Tayo,” “Getting Closer,” “Reason Enough,” “Umaasa Lang Sa’yo,” and “Yan Ang Pag-ibig.”

 

5.    “Trophy Wife” by Mara Torres and JC Torio

 

The new R&B, soul track “Trophy Wife” by Mara Torres and JC Torio explores two varying aspects of love as the back and forth lyrical responses of the two artists shed light on their differing perspectives. This latest Tarsier Records release is accompanied by a distinct guitar sound and percussions.

 

6.    “Unang Hakbang” by Lian Kyla

 

Self-penned by multi-talented artist Lian Kyla herself who also went through a period of reluctance towards her musical career, “Unang Hakbang” is about one’s hesitation to pursue something and the eventual push to make that first step towards achieving a dream.

 

7.     “Breathe” by Vanya

 

The former “Idol Philippines” contestant Vanya has released a new single called “Breathe.” It expresses one’s yearning in a relationship, trying to make sense if the person she loves feels the same way about her.

 

8.     “Paano Ngayong Pasko” by Ruiz

 

The only Yuletide tune in this batch of releases, “Paano Ngayong Pasko” by popular kumu streamer and newest Star Pop artist Ruiz dwells on how uncertain life has become during the pandemic. The song reflects a multitude of feelings as the annual celebration draws near: a longing for love, appreciation for little things, and hope and faith for a blessed Christmas.
