South Korea's Blockbuster Film "The Roundup" Starring Ma Dong-seok and Son Seok-koo Now Showing in Philippine Cinemas


Crime-action film “The Roundup,” the sequel to the domestic and international hit movie “The Outlaws” is now showing in Philippine cinemas.

Topbilled by Ma Dong-seok also known as Don Lee (“Train to Busan,” “Marvel’s Eternals”), Son Seok-koo (“Designated Survivor: 60 Days”), and Choi Guy-hwa (“Train to Busan”), is now the number 1 movie at the South Korean box office. It became the first film in South Korea to register 10 million admissions in 2022. It is the 4th film starring Ma Dong-seok to break through the 10 million.


According to the Korean Film Council, “The Roundup” officially surpassed 12 million moviegoers as of June 26 - making it the 14th Korean film in history to surpass 12 million moviegoers and outselling Hollywood film “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” in Korea.

The film also ranks at 5 in global box office being released in 5 countries including the Philippines and registered a 100% approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes.


Distributed in the Philippines by Glimmer, Inc., “The Roundup” is still showing exclusively on SM Cinemas.

“The Roundup” follows the thrilling adventures of legendary detective Ma Seok Do and his police station’s violent crimes squad as they chase down a powerful new villain. 4 years after the events of Garibong district round up operation, Geumcheon Police’s Major Crimes Unit is given a mission to repatriate a fugitive who fled to Vietnam. Beast cop Ma Seok-do (Don LEE) and Capt. Jeon Il-man (Choi Guy-hwa) intuitively realize that there’s something wrong with the suspect’s willingness to turn himself in and uncover crimes committed by a terrifying killer named Kang Hae-sang (SON Sukku).
