Google Tablet Nexus 7 Price and Specs

Google Tablet Nexus 7 Price and Specs

The new Google Table Nexus 7 including its prices and specs leaked - days before its official announcement on Google‘s I/O Conference in San Francisco, California.

Tech site Gizmodo Australia reported on Monday, June 25, 2012, that Google Nexus 7 will be a 7-inch tablet to be built by Asus and will run Android‘s new OS, dubbed as Jelly Bean; and will be offered on 8GB and 16GB versions.

As noted in the report, the new Google tablet will likely feature a 1.3 GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, a GeForce 12-core GPU and a 1GB of RAM; along with an IPS (in-plane switching) display which will offer a 178-degree viewing angle with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

In addition, the new Google tablet have a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera but none at the back, and will also feature NFC and will run Google Wallet and Android Beam, a program that allows users to share contacts, directions, Web pages, apps, among others.

The site also noted that Google Nexus 7 will cost $199 for the 8GB version model and $249 for the 16GB version; and will be sold in Australia this July; but did not mention the possible release date for other countries.

Apparently, an update on the report emphasized that the said document does not mention the version number of the new Android OS, but noted that it could be Android 4.1 instead of leaping ahead a generation and stamping it as 5.0, which complies to earlier rumors that Android 4.1 (Android Jelly Bean) was accidentally revealed at Google Play online store.
