Typhoon Igme - PAGASA Weather Update August 19, 2012
At 4:00 pm today, August 19, Typhoon Igme has intensified into a tropical storm and remained almost stationary for the past six hours.
Typhoon Igme was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 315 km East Southeast of Aparri, Cagayan (17.6°N 124.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move north slowly.

Monday afternoon: 320 km East Southeast of Aparri, Cagayan
Tuesday afternoon: 400 km East Northeast of Aparri, Cagayan
Wednesday afternoon: 300 km Northeast of Basco Batanes
Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 - 10 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 400 km diameter of the typhoon.
Igme is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring light to moderate rains over rest of Northern Luzon ( particularly Benguet, Baguio, Pangasinan, La Union, IIocos region) Central and Southern Luzon especially the western section
Residents living in Northern Luzon especially in low lying and mountainous areas are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Eastern Seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon due to Tropical Storm "Igme" and the Southwest Monsoon.
