Rising OPM band Nameless Kids introduce themselves with the laidback summer love anthem "Midsummer High" released under ABS-CBN's DNA Music.
The chill yet invigorating track - in the same vein as the music of LANY, Lauv, and The 1975 - perfectly sums up the euphoria of young love during heat of the summer and the road trips to unforgettable beach getaways.
The five-piece band is composed of Nhiko Sabiniano (keys), Kyle Perry (guitar), Kim Allen (guitar), Tati De Mesa (bass), and Imay Alconaba (drums). Priding themselves in being a collaborative group from different backgrounds and skill sets, Nameless Kids aim to release songs inspired by their individual music influences.
"Midsummer High" is now included in MusicShare's OPM New Hits playlist and Spotify's Fresh Finds Philippines and Slo Down -チル・ポップ- playlists. Netizens were also smitten by the song for setting off intense summer vibes in yet another year where most people are stuck at home due to the ongoing pandemic.
"Another year we missed the summer. Grabe ang vibes! Kudos," Althea Aranas commented on YouTube.
"This is gorgeous. Will definitely listen while driving my car with the windows down. Perfect," said another YouTube user.
"Midsummer High" was written and composed by band members Nhiko, Kim, and Kyle. The band produced the song with ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.
