Kris Aquino Announces Engagement to Mel Sarmiento

Kris Aquino surprised her followers on Sunday night, October 24, when she posted a video on IG with former DILG Secretary Mel Sarmiento to announce their engagement.

In a long post, Kris said, "To my bestfriend and the man i said yes to spending the rest of my life with, thank you for as bimb said loving me for me, with no agenda, and for being just an overall good and patient man. It's unreal how much more calm & peaceful i feel now that you're here,"

"As much as i am proud to be an Aquino, looking forward na kong maging Sarmiento." Kris proudly announced.

Mel Sarmiento used to be a member of Congress representing the 1st District of Samar from 2010 to 2015. He also served as the Vice Mayor of Calbayog City from 1992 to 1995 and Mayor from 2004 to 2011. He also served as the last Secretary of DILG under the late President Noynoy Aquino after Jesse Robredo, the late husband of Vice President Leny Robredo.

The couple met through her brother, the late President Noynoy.
