Kapamilya reporter Lyza Aquino talks to “The Voice” Season 2 champion Jason Dy as the singer opens up about his struggles during the early days of his career in “Tao Po” this Sunday (February 11).
Jason recalls that before he became famous, he used to be a “haranista” or a singer hired to serenade persons during special moments like Valentine’s Day. Jason and Lyza also visit the ABS-CBN Newsroom, serenading reporters and producers including “TV Patrol Express” anchors Jeff Canoy and Denice Dinsay.
Meanwhile, Bernadette Sembrano features Christian Wong, a Chinoy lion dancer, who shares the traditions and beliefs tied to lion and dragon dance like bringing luck during Chinese celebrations such as the Chinese New Year. Christian also tells Bernadette how their culture is being handed down from generations just like how his children are now part of the dance troupe.
This Sunday, Kabayan Noli de Castro introduces viewers to one of Rizal Park’s remaining photographers, 70-year-old Danny Lajo. While his profession has become a dying breed in the area, Danny shares with Kabayan how his job led him to meet the love of his life while shooting in Rizal Park. A couple of decades and nine kids later, Danny continues to offer his services in the age of digital cameras and smartphones.
